In smaller fights sure, it can be quite strong. For siege clearing - sure? But that's nothing other professions haven't been able to do, and is moreso an issue with how silly "walls" are in WvW for defense. > > If you die to an engi spamming mortar while it's running away, it's kind of your fault. The mortars don't move exceptionally fast and they show an AoE ring... so I'm not sure if you're standing still or running in a straight line to get to them? Not saying it's entirely a l2p issue, but if they're running away and you pursue, don't go in a perfectly straight line, or just don't pursue them. No idea why you quote me tbh. Nothing you wrote has anything to do with what i said.

  3. Its a result of the environment and nerf of certain skills. With mounts in the game you can only roam with absurd mobility or stealth access if you don't want to fight 12 people at once. So after toss S nerf and more reveal + marked, it's basically the only option for engi. Just equip offhand dagger and flash on your ele or time your rupt. Its not an evade and they are very vulnerable in animationlock. Edit: Assuming you talk about rocket boots. Everything else is not even mobile compared to other roaming builds.

Core Engineer has an inherent flaw where its weapons are *garbage*. By design, theyre meant to be utility. Youre meant to use your utilities, i.e. primarily kits, for damage. If you nerf every half-way playable kit into oblivion, like Grenade Kit just was, then core engineer has no good weapon to use. Buffing Tools is not going to change that. And no, Explosives isnt the issue. Every thief is "carried" by Trickery. Every guardian is "carried" by virtues. There is usually one amazing traitline that every version of the class plays. Explosives is that traitline for engineer. Kinda always has been. I would maybe argue that it's actually alchemy. For all the years I play Engi, I can't recall a single viable build without it. And in combination with Holo it's providing stupid amounts of boons.
  5. Two years after the announcement. Right on schedule. Dream job though. You and your team doing literally nothing for years to come.

What if it was at 1/2 instead of 3/4? Ye, that could work. And maybe a few seconds of regen if you don't get hit at all, when it's up. Not sure.

Aye, i allways forget to mention that i talk about PvP/WvW only. I know how it's supposed to work and from that point comes my problem. Seeing some people using it the way you do, like hitting it at at half life or so, when enemy burst is up, brought them even more problems because they usually shouldn't get over 10k dmg in 8 seconds when they don't make mayor mistakes, which leaves them at medium/low HP and A.E.D on full Cd. I think if you compare it to Rev heal it's way clunkier to use. Imho the cast time should be minimal to at least guarantee you those 8/5 seconds to pressure your fow when you are on like 20%/15% or find some traps/fields to run into. The large tell and cast has a bigger impact on this heal because you basically get only one chance to use it like DemonSeed said.
  8. Some time ago people were oneshoting each other from stealth with this but it was a troll build that was food when you failed.
  9. > @"Dawdler.8521" said: > Ah the standard reply of "well you're not fighting very good enemies" on the basis of watching 0.01% of a couple months playtime. Thing is, there is truth to it, that lies in the build itself. Condi engi has a to low application rate of threatening condis to be a viable dueler/roamer. Every decent player just hardcounters it by running cleansing sigil and pressure/cc you agressive. > I couldnt tell, because I rarely meet enemies that repeatedly kill me by pure skill. Most that do are carried by their class and rely heavily on being one trick ponies. Weird that. This is basically the problem I described above. When the build is to easily countered, you have to consider that maybe you are the one trick pony, that relies to much on people not cleansing/avoiding pistol 4.

I never really have trouble with wvw rangers, in my absolute honest opinion 95% of all wvw rangers are either just trying wvw for the first time or are just newbs XD Overall skill level is pretty low in WvW in general, but I think Soulbeast is maybe the strongest dueler in the game right now.
  11. It's somehow a cool idea but they should rework the Alchemie traitline and Elixier effects with it. I really hate how much our class is carried by the most passive line and boring boon spam fiesta. It leads to dumb non reactional gameplay imho.
