It's ok more than ok to give some form of PvP currency which is highly lucrative like memory of battles are in WvW but...right now the gold rewards in PvP are just too much for simply joining ....**you are not supposed to get any pips if you lose** in case they'd leave the current system. > > In an ideal world gold rewards should go to AT, making it a larger instance for starter but at the same time keeping rewards away from bots and farmers : gold rewards should increase as an incentive but yeah...gold rewards should be removed from Ranked. > > Ranked should not even have a leaderboard : It's a random game mode Prestige? How is that even measured? PvP ranking is at best an indicator of how many game one has played, and isn't good for anything but finishers, which I hardly care about. And if you're about to say PvP rating during the ranked seasons, well, there's a vid for you. Prestige is meaningless as far as I'm concerned. The system is already designed in a way that winners get more than those who lose, so there's already an incentive to win. And, back when I did play the mode, the gold was just a bonus, for me, the main reward was whatever the reward tracks had, or the ascended shards of glory from pip tracks to get ascended weapons easier. And even that wasn't worth the frustration and toxicity of the mode in general. Gating gold behind tournaments would do little, if anything to make them more appealing. Probably the only thing I agree with is that leaderboards don't need to exist, since I don't see what purpose they serve or who they serve at all. But overall, these changes would be bad. PvP would lose even more population, and while the bots might get hampered or go away in the best case scenario, that just leaves the wintraders, who'll now wintrade even harder when they find there's no rewards for losing. And for those that lose, regardless of whether it's their fault or not, whether they were sabotaged by said wintraders or just put up against people they couldn't beat, well, the frustration, toxicity, and blame games are going to get worse, driving more away and digging the grave even deeper. I almost want to see this happen now just to see how ridiculous it would get. > @"Filip.7463" said: > There is 3times better reward for winning than loosing. > > Oh and bots would still work if u remove loosing reward, cuz bots also win around 50% of matches. Thanks for clarifying that.
  2. A great idea...if your goal is to kill off SPvP even faster.
  3. Because PvP in MMOs is not something that ever really works as a focus. The sad thing is that this game has one of the better PvP systems out there, or at least gives it a reason to be around (things like the combat/death logs, the reward tracks and unique skins), but even then it's still bad. Of course, that should also be in indicator of how well those other game's PvP scenes perform...which is likely even worse.
  4. Problem is, most if not everything now is gated behind achievement grind, timegated grind, or just contrived grind. Example : I was interested in the Illuminated Boreal Weapon collection, only to discover that one of the major materials needed to make it has its recipe gated (via achievement) behind the Stormcaller weapon collection...which is from another map and has nothing to do with the previous collection, aside from both being in IBS. That turned me off fast.
  5. It's as if adding raids to Guild Wars 2 was a bad idea from the start.
  6. Pretty much just the rewards. I find if there's something I want, and if the achievement is reasonable to accomplish...something that has been less and less so as of late. One factor in my burnout with this game is just how much good stuff is gated behind those achievements now, especially ones you cannot do at your own pace or whim. Couple that with how achievements are often tedious in their own right, and it can get annoying to frustrating.
  7. The graphics are fine, even on lower settings. This might come as a shock, but while we're in an age where everything's expected to look super pretty, realistic, or both, it's not necessary. And having seen the likes of Aion, Blade and Soul, and BDO, I can say that most games trying to look pretty are often overcompensating for having little if any substance behind them.
  8. Well, Kralkatorrik's already dead, and while she became an Elder Dragon right there to prevent the imbalance from going too far, we'd need another to do the same for when Jormag dies. (Assuming they don't pull a "psyche, the imbalance thing was just a total screw up on Taimi's part.)
  9. This cap, if it exists, is another contrived pointless limitation that should be removed.
  10. Most of the core game, yes. Sadly, HoT and PoF would screw this up. You can still do about 60-70%ish of them solo, depending on what map you're in, but much of the interesting stuff is gated behind achivements, metas, and bounties, and other things that force (or at the very least push one towards) grouping. The LS maps are nicer about this, but again, it varies on the map.
  11. > @"Linken.6345" said:> > Again you can play them solo if you enter alone in private. I can, but it would take even longer, with all the other problems still remaining. It's not as blatant as Zhaitan pre-rework, or, alchemy forbid, mapping Dragon's Stand, but it's clearly designed in a way to make one choose grouping over not, if just to get it over with faster, since it doesn't seem to scale down for one person. Or at least it didn't, back when I did it.
  12. More forced grouping, which I don't like. Bosses aren't hard, just HP sponges that take longer than they need to (coupled with phases where the bosses are invulnerable or can't be hit just making this worse), and little if any story bits inside of them, which could've been handled in their own story instances, instead of trying to put this in the way for me to complete. And what little story there is isn't really interesting. I'm not sure what purpose this content serves again. The Volcanic Stormcaller weapons might be neat...if the smoke effects didn't cover 75% or more of the weapons themselves. So thankfully I don't feel the need to grind for them.
  13. How to make better jumping puzzles? You don't. Stop making them. Stop gating things behind them. Stop putting them in dailies (this last one in particular is quite annoying.)
