Lol. Again i dont really get why everyone is so insecure when gw2 is a bread dead easy game. No, drms are designed around the games actual combat it should be hard to do became of a gimmick wasting time. If you wanted to do gimmick content then dungeons exist and no one does them because of their confirmed bad design.

It could work either way. Since lovecraft lore is more about the stars aligning awakening or telling of the coming of something else not them themselves being the issue. A lot of different fictions use the moon as an evil entity, a portal to another world, or some kind of hinged story point for bad things to come. Some based on lovecraft and some based on various religions. The moon is among the stars and could work fine, but yeah I suppose the theory could also work with with any celestial body like a shooting star or even tyrias north star Dwayne heart. I personally think there is more stories tied to the moon that make it make more sense if it took a love craft approach, plus the connection to the sea works better with how it effects the tide even if people use stars to sale.
  5. How would you all feel if Bliss was greatly upgraded and looked like this with his jacket added over it next time we saw him? ![](https://wiki.guildwars2.com/images/0/03/Dynamics_Exo-Suit_Outfit_asura_female_front.jpg "")
  6. > @"Fueki.4753" said: > But what if Selbbub is an Elder Dragon in only name, just like dinosaurs are written as ancient dragons in Japanese? > We know it has tentacle'ish abilities and it's deep below the sea. It could be Cthulhu! > Cthulhu also is related to stars, if I recall correctly. It's funny you mention Cthulhu cause I considered mentioned that. Part of the lore of the call of Cthulhu is that when the stars are aligned just right they would awaken Cthulhu, so yeah it does fit well. So many people think of that when it comes to bubbles because he's been described as an unknown horror and having tentacles. There are actually lots of other gods and demons in lovecraft besides just cthulhu. For example there is the short story "What the Moon Brings" that talks about how the moon is an evil creature that makes the water haunted and cursed with giant worms and creatures coming out from the bottom of the sea, and in all the core tyria zones with deep water sea wurms are a common enemy. Also personally I always thought the Krait had a lot of visuals and lore that reminded me a bit of Mu (the sunken confident that Cthulhu once rules, but to be fair i feel like elements of that was already used on both orr and the crystal desert)
  7. She actually was in the lore a long time before she was in the game. I think Smolder was the coolest and best thing to come out of the charr civil war. All we knew about him from core Tyria was he was the one who made peace with the humans. They could have very easily made him a boring paragon character but instead they went with something more realistic and interesting, and played into the idea of politics. It turning out smolder was scummy and does what ever it takes to win, and only made peace so he would get personal gain is a really cool idea in my opinion. He was a really good politician even had the commander fooled in grothmar that he was such a great choice for Khan ur. I wish we met his replacement in field of ruins. I'm curious to see what she will be like but I'm guessing she might be really dedicated to preserving peach with humanity if it was her mentors legacy.

  9. Was honestly always baffled why PoI ever exist in the game if they wont write a few lines for lore for them.

I think though I might have actually solved the mystery! Gravity as the second domain of the DSD makes it easy to have floating water and fish all over on land zones to make the dragon relevant all over. The next FF expansion is going to the moon and mmo's tend to do similar things around the same time.

Change it so all enemies spawn after the pre events and then the npcs just run and talk without it effecting anything like they do in literally every other drm. Also remove the elites that offer no interesting mechanics in the fight besides having lots of hp and make it kill the three portals and then go back to the boss. That is how it works on all the other bosses like the one in brisband and gendaran you kill the volcanos and it phases. The boss fight is pretty fun but its not a fun drm because it fails for really dumb reasons right now. > > then they should cut down the timer by a bit. it shouldnt be made easier, but the escort can be tweaked to gain no personal advantage and disadvantage As long as the time is mostly about killing enemies and doing the boss well. DRMs have a nice focus on the actual combat of the game instead of weird gimmicks like you see in dungeons. This is the only DRM that feel hard for the wrong reasons.
  12. Considering how many minions have insect legs and recently in the drm even the two legged destroyer boss was referred to as a "giant bug" I'm pretty sure primordus will have an insect like appearance.

  14. The exalted are finally here as a faction and im a little salty at my bad luck. Been doing old content trying to complete stuff and i just waste 3k arrullium on most of the recipes for the weapons in tarir, but now you can just buy them easy for 5 tokens in the EotN and they are also decently common in the supply boxes. Im happy ill finish the collection easy now but it sucks i wasted so much map currency. Kind of makes me wonder/sad about if we did get Centaur if we could have maybe gotten an easy alternative to the Ambrite Weapon Collection.
  15. I recently learned these snails exist. What do you think of something like this?

They could have their divinity taken from them (see: Balthazar and Dhuum) but when killed, their bodies break apart and their soul and remaining magic turns into a volatile storm (unclear if said storm dissipates over time or is perpetual, as both cases we see a god / former god die, the magic got consumed into a new vessel (Kormir and Kralkatorri/Aurene for Abaddon and Balthazar respectively). A lot of this is your own opinion/interoperation presented as fact.

It annoys me to no end, as someone with Cherokee heritage, how a lot of people, including those who profess to be 'woke', can't figure out that the Native Americans (and Canadian Aboriginals) are all different peoples but instead clump them all together. As I said tho the natives were descended from inuit people. The way that even happened is when the ice started to melt their tribes were separated and started to move south and their culture changed. that is pretty much exactly what happened to the kodan when the dragons rose in gw2 they used to live in the north but now a lot of them are separated and forced south. Almost all the playable and nonplayable races have real world cultures as big influences . I'm Egyptian myself and I can tell you for sure they love to play fast and loose with mixing cultures in this game a lot since every county in elona is a mix of different north African nations. The even mix a lot of aspects from the region's ancient history and its more modern era issues. It honestly happened pretty much all the time in every game(but usually outsiders of those cultures are oblivious of it). that was also the way they originally did cantha stuff was mixing all these different asian cultures, but they had to stop doing that because it offended the chinese goverment. Trying to twist what I said as saying these things were all the same instead of them just taking inspiration from the full history/origin of the people is a bit cringy to me considering what I actually said. The term I used was vague enough to be inclusive and i think technically correct? Either way I wasn't trying to diminish any culture if that's how it came off to you. Not trying to be I insulting but your comment to me just seems really ignorant, pretentious, and disingenuous.

I know they refer to them as a he in the The Wisdom and Power of the Kodan which they wrote before the game even released, but I'm pretty sure much like Jormag they dev's avoid ever gendering them in game and use they/them.
  20. Basically because the bloodstone magic was so strong that even after the stone blew up the magic of the bloodstone didn't end and those soul were sucked back over to it and trapped there. same way we see some ghosts in the fire island chain who were bound to bloodstone magic in that part of the world.

ALL of a group of people are never evil. They could easily explain centaurs being allies if some of the centaur just dont want to fight anymore. if the people of ebonhawk can make peace with the charr i dont see why its so out of the question for the people of kryta. > > There's a few diferences to keep in mind > > - The Charr are in general, a more civilised species -ancestrally warlike perhaps, but a more well rounded society. Yes, the Flame Legion were barbaric and religious, but a splinter group rejoining civilisation (and that's what Efraam etc did when they were invited back into the fold) is more likely here compared to the cenaturs who have no such place to turn to. There's no advanced society of centaurs that we are aware of for them to turn to or be invited back to. And to just join the other races would be very very weird. The cenaturs now are more akin to the flame legion in GW1 and it took a long revolution for that to change > - The centaurs haven't shown any tendency for peace inKryta. They were still making war on humans as recently as LS3. I would have no doubt the bloodstone infection on them has not improved their outlook towards humanity either > - No centaur tribe has shown any tendency to care about the dragon threat to want to ally with anyone. The splinter Flame Legion group understood the threat of Jormag at least > - The centaurs took a considerable kicking in the war. I suspect there is not much left for them to give. The flame legion aren't an allied faction - they are part of a now united Charr race > > There is at least good reason why the Flame Legion group reunited with the World to do what they did. It may be a little jarring, but the nuances of their race allow it to happen. No such nuance for the centaurs exist... yet. Could an alliance exist? In theory, but it needs to be seeded. There needs to be something substantial for that to happen first. So for the writers to decide it wasn't going to work without the correct build up is the right call. They go a lot of criticism for not giving over time for things and rightfully so, but here is the correct decision. The time for establishing Centaur relations can happen later when they have the time and scope to develop it > > For them to have brought the centaurs in in CHampions would have at least required some earlier focus on them in the Icebrood Saga. Anet left information on the centaur and the entire region of the woodland cascade pretty blank for a reason. The centaur haven't cared about the dragons because the dragons are all pretty far from them but in this patch we here dialog about destroyers pushing centaurs out of their land and we know jormag's influence crept into the north side of the woodland cascades. We haven't gotten really any lore about the centaurs and their tendencies since the launch of the game and a lot of time has past. You're saying this and that wasn't show with the centaurs before not to the aid of your point, but to it's detriment. They haven't given us really any information or updates on the centaur. They can do anything they want just like how redeeming the Flame Legion was completely out of no where after almost a decade or no lore. You're trying very hard to come up with reasons for why the writers are back into a corner but they have done a good job at making sure they aren't. They are super free to do what ever they want with the centaur. We already know from that_shaman's data mining that they centaurs were going to be allied races, so idk how you can argue all these reasons for how it couldnt work. And just in terms of how the centaurs arent an advanced society the centaur are an ancient race with strong shamanistic ties, and we have hardly seen the lands most of them live in now north of kryta. The Harathi Hinterlands for example is as close as we get and half the zone is a massive centaur city. It may not be in the same style or as industrial as a charr but that is just because of their strong physicality, size, and culture not because they are primitive. Would you say the olmakhan charr just because they choose to live more off the land? We really haven't gotten much information on the centaur from the devs in years and years so they can really do anything they want. We literally teamed up with the frost legion last patch because we are that desperate to stop primordus. The centaurs likely would have been in a situation where they had no choice to accept our aid and it be those kind of actions like how the charr saved ebonhalk that would lead to future lasting changings to centaur relations with other races.

That interaction recorded in her diary shows that Lyssa was present at the time of departure so it wouldn't fit any scenario where Lyssa would be consumed by the Elder Dragons. > > At most, only Balthazar fits the scenario of being consumed by any Elder Dragon, and that's an aspect we had to fight _inside of a dragon_. If Lyssa, or any of the other Gods sans Balthazar, had any interaction with the Elder Dragons before their departure, more than likely they simply attempted to keep the dragons dormant for as long as possible. Past that, there's no real record of direct confrontation between the dragons and the Gods (one that would cause the twins, or any of the dragons, to consume Lyssa) until recently. Balthazar was adamant in taking on the Elder Dragons, making him the only real God that wanted to have any direct confrontation with them, and that didn't happen until after Lyssa, Kormir and the rest of the Gods imprisoned him in the Mists. The Gods always knew of the Elder Dragons as being part of the natural laws and balance within Tyria, which is more than likely why they never wanted to touch on the subject matter, or even interfere with it to begin with. Actually she says "even Lyssa" as if there was some reason she wouldn't leave with them. If all her magic was consumed and she was left a mortal she could have been taking with the gods without still being a god or going darker if she was dead or maybe half dead(meaning one of the twins was eaten) she could have still left with them half consumed or as a corps with this theory still playing out.

You could probably find the old threads showing this. Things from guild wars 1 doesn't translate over to guild wars 2 100% all the time so I don't doubt that thread exist, but I don't see how it really matters when they change the designs between games all the time. Just compare Zaitain's in game model to his cinematic model is insanely different and thats in the same game.
