I am amused at imagining a jack of all trades duck mount.

Although I am thankful for them adding it to skimmer and got it only a few hours after release, I am underwhelmed that the swim infusions match mounted speed. It needs a beetle turbo underwater or something to separate it from regular swim infusions.

    > Please don't just assume that everyone bothered to get those swim infusions. I didn't, and i'm sure i'm not the only one. ;)

Yeah, the infusions were a pain to get and, last I checked, expensive to buy. Plus they require a slot in ascended gear to use.

  3. Relax and consider how to be constructive instead of aggressive.

Instead of berating anet and being sarcastic about the situation you could say something like this:

I worked really hard to get the otter enrichment and I would really like to use it alongside the 8th birthday enrichment. They are both great effects. But since they are enrichments instead of infusions, this is currently impossible. So I would like to suggest you add a way to make one (or both!) into an infusion.

Yeah... Please don't make me play base engi again, my keyboard can't take it.

The idea that you should do what's fun and play for fun is more central to this game. If you want a specific reward you can go for it, but i find this game best played where I play for fun and see the reward as a bonus.

    > >

    > > I agree with this for the most part. It would be bad to put anything in the rewards that makes people feel like they need to hunt achievements. Especially since daily AP and LS1 has so many people way ahead of anyone who would start going for AP now.

    > >

    > > I am an achievement hunter and I am only just now getting close to 20k points. I would have a lot more if I did dailies regularly instead of just whenever. I like racking up those numbers, but I also enjoy the process of completing achievements.

    > >

    > > But another set of armor skins as rewards wouldn't harm anything. And would be a nice bonus to people who hunt AP.

    >

    > The real bonus for people who hunt AP is the one no one ever talks about. And it ends up being better than an armor skin, which is hit or miss. You might like it, you might not. I don't like the hell fire skin and so it's not a motivation.

    >

    > But those gold finds and those magic finds and karma boosts and XP boosts all add up. I get stuff done faster than people witihout my achievements. Sure I might be only getting a percentage more gold or a few more rare drops when I kill stuff than another player, but, I kill stuff constantly. All the time. And that stuff adds up. It adds up to alot. I'm sitting on over 39k XP and when I level a new character or a new mastery which I often do by killing, I level them much faster. it'S much better than a skin I may or may not use, because no matter what I do in this game, I'm going to be killing something at some point.

That is a good point, I hadn't thought of all the boosts you get. Permanent account-wide bonuses are pretty sweet.

    >

    > People like you on forums are exhausting.. in that whole section on WoWs _TECH_ and Gw2 _TECH_, Its clearly not a WoW vs Gw2 conversation, its a _TECH _discusion. Other wise I would ujst talk about the actual games themselves not the game _TECH_ being utilized.

    >

    > You very clearly have problems reading and not putting your own spin on things. Not one statement claimed they were taking out voice acting for ever.. It clearly stated that they "took OUT voice acting." The timeline in the discussion should have indicated to you that all of the aforementioned was time based and of that time being the current actions, neither past nor future.

Yes... I am the exhausting one here. Clearly. But *please* bear with my poor *problems* and explain yourself further.

It was a tech discussion.... in which you compared the tech of two games. That is called making a comparison between the two games.

That would be like me talking about how many playable races WoW has compare to GW2 an saying "It's a race discussion, not a game comparison".

It does not matter what aspect of the games you were comparing, you were still comparing the two games.

As for one's putting their own spin on things, you are the one who heard (I paraphrase here) "Our voice actors do not have home set-ups, and we do not want to risk their health by having them come into the studio, so we will be working with them to get set-ups and then get back to recording, in the meantime we will not delay releases on the content. It will get the voices added in once we can get the recordings done" and took that to mean "Anet is removing voice acting. Covid is just an excuse. Anet isn't giving us more content."

You clearly are grasping at straws to find as many faults as you can with Anet. I don't know what is going on in your head, and at this point I don't think I ever will.

How is that not a WoW vs Gw2 comparison?

    >What I am saying is the excuse of COVID19 stopping GW2 from voice acting, or regular patches and expansions isn't cutting it

You very clearly have no intention of looking at the facts of the situation. GW2 is not "stopping" voice acting. It was only delayed because most of the voice actors did not have home set ups. Voice acting will be coming back, starting with the next fractal and they will be retroactively adding in the missing voice acting from the releases that did not get it from covid.

GW2 is also getting regular patches and will be getting a new expansion.

I do not see how this would balance pets/minions.

But another set of armor skins as rewards wouldn't harm anything. And would be a nice bonus to people who hunt AP.

I do not know where you got the idea that I do not want to do any of these things. I play pretty much all aspects of the game. (The only thing I dont do regularly is sPvP since my teammates aren't online as much anymore) That does not mean that I can not find fault with the way some content (in this case: mastery points) was implemented. And you are obviously missing the point of this thread.

This is the only acceptable way to implement PvP in PvE. Essentially a copy of the guild hall arena placed in a new map.

    > Know what the most enjoyable part of this game is for me? When a bug happens! Like the times when a npc does something unexpected and we all joke about it. Most recent was when ARC spawned not in the middle of Shattered at the end, but enough off to the side that it threw the whole mechanics of the fight off. Everyone cracked jokes on how ARC just got tired of the games monotony too, so he decided to mix it up a bit.

    >

    > Why can't a npc just decide one day to get out of the dungeon and bring the raid to us for once? The answer is simple: No ones looking at revolutionizing MMORPGs anymore it seems, no ones looking to bring a new AI to the genre. They all bring the same static systems to the table and wonder why the genre is struggling. They all want the money but don't seem to understand that we as consumers only get wise to their schemes.

So my understanding is that you want Anet to make GW3 and includes artificial intelligence that is so complex it will revolutionize gaming in its entirety.

That seems... a bit far fetched, to put it lightly.
