Zhaitan sounds very much like a variation of Satan, which also kind of fits the theme. And the sylvari are referencing King Arthur legends so much, it's not hard to see the connection between Mordred and Mordrem / Mordremoth.

Checking the settings is simpler than the story, after all ;). > > From the looks of it this thread wasn‘t created to discuss the story though, but more to bash the game. > Hence the „simple story“ and „[Anet] don‘t like to put money into the game“ arguments. Yes, that too. :) Also, third wrong assumption: Players with really low English language skills won't read this forum, let alone actively discuss here. So asking them about their opinion and experience right here is useless. If OP was interested in an honest discussion about the topic, they'd maybe want to go to the other official forums, not the English version of all things...

  5. First, the game is available in more languages than just English. Second, not being fluent in English does not necessarily equal low intelligence.

Not the case. And even if it was the case, they'd just have replaced her after all those years. In LS4 there was a dev talk mentioning how they'd considered bringing Zojja back, but didn't include her after all, because it would have been too similar to Taimi's hostage situation. If they wanted her in the story, they'd have her in the story, no matter what issues there may or may not be with the actress. > > - Majory and Kasmeer barely have any screentime. > Marjory is still recovering from her mental breakdown and Kasmeer is busy doing things for Queen Jenna. Isn't that just funny? At the beginning of IBS there was this huge point made about how Kas and Jory were going to have their character arcs now, how they would finally be developed outside of just being a couple... Well - they have half a chapter left. Let's see how those character arcs will go.

The gods left because they couldn’t solve the dragon problem but if they’re still watching they’ll see we did it for them.. maybe the other 4 come back? But then they’d have to address their devastated pantheon lmao, they would be lacking 2 gods after we kill lyssa > > > > Kormir told us that there are currently 6 gods. They had already replaced Balthazar before PoF, they just don't bother to tell us about it. > > Replacing a god every now and then doesn't seem to be a huge problem. > > Well, it kinda IS a huge problem, but one that they will eventually solve. Though it opens up another plot hole, if it was so "easy" to strip Balthazar of his godhood and replace him, why didn't they do this with Abaddon? PoF is such a mess. I'm not arguing over the specifics of stripping Balthazar's godhood etc. However, the post I answered to stated the gods were down to 4 without Lyssa, which doesn't line up with what we know. Replacing gods may not be easy. But they are no Elder Dragons, replacing them is not THAT complicated either. Grenth has replaced Duum, Kormir has replaced Abaddon, someone has replaced Balthazar. And that's just what we know of, there may be much more going on in the larger Pantheon and in the past that simply didn't affect the plots in our games. I'm simply stating that whatever may happen to Lyssa might not necessarily leave the gods at a different number nor at an overall disadvantage. They have dealt with losses before, they can do it again.

They had already replaced Balthazar before PoF, they just don't bother to tell us about it. Replacing a god every now and then doesn't seem to be a huge problem.

I hope there's a story-relevant reason for that and he's doing something interesting in the background. > The reason was likely Jahvi is a descendant of Jora, who has a personal connection to Jormag, via Drakkar's manipulation of Svanir, so it made sense to have her be forefront so she could get some measure of vengeance for what Jormag/Drakkar did to her family. Yes, and I wish they had done more with that plot, but well... However, was it really necessary to make her Almorra's successor for her to act? After basically the first thing we learned about Laranthir was that he was supposed to take over the Vigil if Almorra dies? They had the same rank, sure, and time has passed and opinions can change, but this came a bit out of nowhere. I highly doubt Almorra suddenly changed her mind because of Jhavi's family history. That might have been the writers' reason, but ingame it must have been something else.
  10. I think Braham is actually on a really good way. Sure, he was a brat in LS3, but he was a teenager who had lost his mother and who took on a role that was too much for him at the time. Right now, IF he survives the IBS, he may be on his way to become one of the most awesome havrouns ever. I do hope he wont have to sacrifice himself, he's still so young. Laranthir could have been someone you'd like, but for some reason he was put on a bus in favor of Jhavi. I hope there's a story-relevant reason for that and he's doing something interesting in the background.
  11. Honestly, what I want to see the most in the Expac is a good story, consistent lore and well designed maps. As for expansion-level features: Elite specs should be a given, I hope. Maybe new raid wings? And as a new feature, maybe player housing? Or... real build templates instead of that joke we have to improvise around right now? I think features like Alliances or engine upgrades would be amazing, but they likely can't be features of an expac. Those would have to be implemented for the entire game, not just for people who have the expac.

It seems to be inconsistent. Some people seem to be able to play older stories in between, for others it doesn't save the progress in Champions. SInce Champions is technically one episode and we won't finish that until part 4, apparently progress can be lost if we exit the story. :/ But for some people it works fine? I won't try, unless it's really necessary. Don't want to risk having to replay every single DRM.

  14. It has some really low lows, but also some really good patches. All in all, I'd still rank it higher than LS2 and LS1, but considering that in the meantime we have learned how good the LS can get, it's a disappointing season. I really hope ArenaNet does not consider any of this "expansion-level content" anymore. Otherwise, I'd be very concerned for the actual expansion content. I do hope it will be way above IBS-level content.
