  1. Agreed, but even more than red we need more green ones! And please for the love of god, more aura ones and less skin ones! They keep adding new infusions to change your skin but those are useless after one or maybe two. Meanwhile there are 18 slots to fill and far fewer aura infusions that can actually stack or mix with each other. My number 1 dream infusion is green lighting (pls anet)

Especially if I can have a Skritt and I can pay it with shinies ~~junk~~ and food. And booze. Of course you get headpats and praise for a job well done! He’s lonely too so somebody to hug is even better than a butler

  5. For playable, I wish we would someday get 4 more, for 9 professions and 9 races. ~~(perfectly balanced, as all things should be)~~ I mean obviously a given expansion would only add one at a time, and not every expansion would have to include a new race, so this could take a very long time, but it's a long-term dream of mine. Choosing from the existing races (meaning not taking into consideration that anet can add brand new races to the world any time), I would like these 4; Tengu Largos Kodan Dwarves Tengu already use the charr skeleton and were scrapped from being a race at launch, so I feel like they have the best shot. I daresay it may even be likely we get them someday (doesn't have to be EoD). Largos society is so secretive the wings can easily be written away as something only the explorer assassins have, or as equipment that's common for them to use. Kodan could use the norn frame, and I think they already do? I know one problem with Kodan is customization, but since we would surely get some starter zones and at least a little more story focused on them, more types can be introduced. Dwarves were a race anet wanted to write out, I know. But in my opinion turning them to stone backfired on anet for that, because it made them super interesting. Also, jut because something is a stereotype doesn't mean it's bad or needs to be avoided. Who doesn't love dwarves?
  6. Threads like these always make me laugh, but its true enough. Equality is equality, any revealing set for females should be for males too, and vice versa. And on the topic of revealing, let us remind anet they still have yet to add swimwear of any kind
  7. I know, this bothers me SO MUCH, how many years have they been doing this where a random handful of skins just aren’t in the wardrobe, COMPLETE the system anet why are you doing this?
  8. Ok well correct me if I’m wrong but my understanding of the post was that Apple is dropping support and anet is out of things they can do - it’s going to stop working and they can’t fix that. This is all on Apple. It’s not great by any means, but blaming anet is misplaced. And your account will still exist - not much help to many people I suppose, but at least if you ever do get a gaming computer (or a pc at all I guess), you can play again
  9. The element replace idea is neat but things like “ethereal” aren’t elements at all. If we got swaps to existing ones I might expect dark and light like you said (or creation and destruction), but earth could be life (as in swap dust and stone for vines and plants), and air for something like mind or speed Also a new element would totally be interesting, they should add energy
  10. Sounds good to me, I’m sure they’ll do it someday. Thankfully they haven’t abandoned gliders since mounts came out so we’re still getting a lot of them
  11. In my opinion DRMs are a pretty good system and could be dramatically improved with just a few QOL changes around rewards and time. 1. Fix the lfg bugs where you can only enter as a party, all that crap where you join a squad then you have to leave so they can make a party and stuff. I haven’t been able to find a group for DRMs for a while so maybe they already fixed this? 2. Make it so the first part auto completes after the goals are met - the timer should be a limit, not a mandatory amount of time. Alternatively, add more levels to the event and the more players accomplish the better their rewards are. For example, once you meet the initial goal of 25 destroyer kills, it bumps to 35. Put out 10 fires, it goes to 15. So on and so on, each level past the first you progress increases your rewards at the end. 3. Speaking of rewards, the DRM-specific items need work. Firstly, there’s almost nothing to buy with the tokens. I assume this will get fixed with time, but anet needs to *dramatically* increase how much you can buy with them. Also, it would be nice if the volcanic weapons could be purchased for these tokens. They can come at a very high price to preserve the rarity if desired, in fact that would help with the token surplus problem. Any way to make it so things aren’t 100% RNG, no matter how far fetched the alternatives are. 4. For future DRMs, add MORE destroyers. I know the current ones all got new attacks so they feel somewhat different, but you’d be shocked how much the model makes a difference. The new attacks count for almost nothing when you’re fighting nothing but the same guys we’ve had since 2012. New models, new enemy varieties is very important, and apparently anet is underestimating how big of a difference it makes. Especially when the enemies AND maps are old content. 5. For the longer term future - keep the concept! Don’t drop it like seemingly every other game mode, please anet there’s no need to constantly abandon everything for something “better”, just because it’s new. DRMs can be relevant against other dragons than just in this current saga. In fact, they could even be relevant to past dragons! I for one would LOVE to revisit the jungle, Orr, and the desert to mop up dragon minions, touch base with some of those characters, and learn a little more about dragon minions after their dragon dies. And keep in mind these don’t have to have too much story - any one DRM on its own doesn’t do much, so these would be reasonably small bite sized chunks to update us on past stories, all while being easy for anet to make as they would be entirely comprised of old content from enemies to maps (I know I just criticized that. It’s not ok when DRMs are the main flow of content. But, if in the future, anet adds a few based on past dragons as side content between whatever the current story is, that’s perfectly fine).
  12. > @"EdwinLi.1284" said: > Imagine if Cantha Elite Spec for Engineer is about become a Heavy Weapon Specialist. Thus gaining access to Railgun, Gatling Gun, Ray Gun and etc or being able to modify their weapons into more heavy hitting attacks thanks to their tech modifications created by those who specialize in this Elite Spec. Feel like cantha is better suited for perhaps an alchemist spec, or something more general. Heavy weaponry including futuristic stuff like a ray gun would go well if we ever get an expansion dealing with some of the concepts anet never used from the utopia GW1 campaign, like a 4th human homeland and a timeless isle in the mists. Since obviously if time travel is an element engineers can get whatever weapons they want
  13. Even though this exact skin isn’t my thing, I’m always glad to see anet do something different than their normal style. The more variety we can get, the better
  14. Honestly I was thinking recently how easy it is, it’s kind of boring because of it. After a few rounds, you and the other players have built so many weapons and snowmen you can just sit there and do nothing. In fact, I found myself struggling to do something, I couldn’t even run to enemies before they were killed. IMO the “onslaught” level should be level 2 and it gets harder from there
  15. Considering the expansion releases next year, I think most of the attention will be on that, which makes sense. I’m trying to not expect anything crazy like a playable race which to me has about 50/50 odds right now, I could see it but I won’t be surprised if it doesn’t happen. I think it’s more than fair to expect 9 elite specs though, and the maps/story to be as big as or more so than PoF. Especially considering where we’re going, how much land there is there and how much history. Also hoping the following living world seasons stays there to really give us as much as possible
  16. Yeah, that would be cool. I really just want to see them add more nodes so I can fill a home instance to the brim with hundreds of them lol. For lunar new year they could add a floating lantern that gives envelopes (the basic kind that won’t crash the economy, not divine) as well as something else fitting that gives luck. Also would like to see a snowflake node and maybe a trick or treat dispenser (if they give out Wintersday gifts why not them too?), a noxious pod, and all kinds of other things

But people (not sure if Fenom included) are pulling that as a means to explain their "Braham is becoming a champion of Primordus" theory. Which doesn't really make sense to all established lore. > > Which probably is why OP is asking. I’m not saying I definitely am buying into the jotun Fire is Primordus magic theory but right now that’s the best we can come up with as to when Braham ever came into contact with anything that could have given him a connection to Primordus

  20. I mean I love those movies deeply and would love to see that but it’s very likely a copyrighted sound.
  21. I just want then to come back real quick again so I can get the katana greatsword
  22. We’re in a weird place where the plot would make perfect sense for there to be another dozen dragons out there, but it won’t happen due to real life reasons - people want to move on from that. Best we may get is a 7th/ultimate with this ‘mother’ kralkatorrik mentioned
  23. Yeah, I mean I don’t use that many templates but I gave my tempest and weaver builds more personal names based off shows I like because of certain skills each has
  24. > @"Sajuuk Khar.1509" said: > > @"Fenom.9457" said: > > So yeah, maybe there’s only say.. 3 expansions worth or content in the points I listed? > Weill, given that EoD is taking us to Cantha, and seemingly going to involve the Deep Sea Dragon, I would say maybe 1, assuming Anet actually wants to show us the 4th human homeland. I agree this is fairly likely to be the next story. That's actually why I mentioned Utopia. In the 20th anniversary Guild Wars art book there's an entire chapter about Utopia lore including brand new art and lore, and old lore retconned to fit with the current story. WP explains it really well here; Anyway, the theory could easily be wrong, but it *seems* like anet is laying out a little groundwork to go back to some of the ideas from Utopia. But like he says in the video, I also think it would a little lame to have an entire expansion in the mists with nothing on the real map. I wouldn't be surprised to see something like Nightfall in GW1 tho, with new regions (Elona) AND Mists areas (Underworld, Fissure of Woe, all that). We could see an xpac with Xotecha in the mists and part of that new continent on the world map. From what tiny bit we know, it seems like the original idea for that place was tied to Utopia, and may have been the worldly location for it if it had been finished in GW1. It makes sense that they'd still keep such a basic outline, and we could see the 4th continent humans settled on. Maybe it's even the first.

The game has limitless potential and no need to die after the ED plot ends. > The problem with everything you listed above is that its based on arguments of totality, and that isn't how writing works. > > There are going to be Centaurs attacking Humans, Renegades and Separatists running around, remnants of groups like the Nightmare Court, and Flame Legion(the evil part of it) still active, for years, if not decades to come, because those sorts of ideas don't just simply instantly die the moment their leadership is killed. That doesn't mean however that the story will, or even should, do anything with them. Its like saying Lord of the Rings could have gone on for three more books because they didn't kill every single one of Sauron's orcs, and thus the orcs could pose a threat. Yeah, that could happen, but at some point you have to concede that a group is so beaten down that them being front and center in the plot strains belief, and is no longer interesting. > > >Not to mention countless other teases, like Kodan being from the even more distant far north > >the Krait obelisks and their prophecies about their prophets returning to flood the world, > >The mystery of the human gods, particularly Lyssa. > >There's supposedly giants across the Blazeridge mountains right? > >And ogres came into Ascalon from there too, why are they leaving? > >What about the rumored Charr lands to the east as well, Ash lands? There must be something happening there. > >The purification of Orr and a potential storyline where both humans and sylvari try to live in Orr again, > >and this also brings up the subject of dragon minions after all the dragons are dead. Same with the arctic Quaggan. > * DSD story element. > * Almost certainly EoD or LWS6. And there isn't much of a mystery. Balthazar is dead, Kormir, Grenth, and Melandru, are confirmed gone, and Lyssa is up to something. The only one we don't know about is Dwayna. > * The other side of the Blazeridge Mountains is Charr lands. > * Lore states they had attacked the humans and Charr in Ascalon in the past, they were just pushed back. Kralkatorrik's awakening, and the creation of the brand, pushed back the Charr, which allowed them to spread down from the mountains as they had been trying to for ages beforehand. They aren't leaving, just spreading out like all races do. > * There is no rumor about it. We know Charr have lands to the east. What about them? Its just more Charr lands ala Ascalon, but without all the problems Ascalon has. > * The Order of Whispers map had no trade routes. The trade routes were on the Durmand Priory floor map. And yes we know there are humans elsewhere due to Whispers agent Doern Velazquez. > * And Anet themselves have said Utopia isn't canon so... its not canon. > * The dragons naturally cause massive world destruction wherever they, or their minions, go. He also doesn't need to be over there directly. As for why he would have sent his minions over there, ley lines. > * The Mursaat are all dead as per LWS3. As for why did Caudecus go there, because the White Mantle would have obviously had bases/outposts out there in the homeland of their gods. He would have been trying to rally more of the Mantle behind him. > * Orr is a waterlogged wreck, full of Risen, even years after Zhaitan's defeat. It would be decades before any sort of resettlement occurs, and thats far otuside the scope of the game. > * We already see what happens to dragon minions after the dragon's death. They lose power and become disorganized. As for the Mordrem Guard, Rox mentions the Maguuma is still swarming with Mordrem, and in the Festival of the Four Winds after HoT we can meet a sylvari who was a Mordrem Guard that turned back after the dragon's defeat. Those with the willpower to do so have turned back, while those that didn't are still in the jungle. That question was already answered. > * If GW2 was ever going to explore Dzalana it would have been in PoF or LWS4, and it didn't happen. > * Again, a DSD plot element much like how we got more Kodan lore with Icebrood Saga. Ok, I get what you’re saying. Not every plot thread will be or needs to be addressed. And some of them would be a lot less exciting than they sound and don’t warrant an expansion. To be clear though, I didn’t mean all of those points would be full expansions. Particularly the army remnant stories like the forged and dragon minions - I’d only want a living world episode, *maybe* two, for any one of those threads and even then they’d include other story elements in the episode. I’d say if lord of the rings has originally been told as an MMO it would’ve been ok for there to be a chapter or two of epilogue addressing the remaining army, if anything interesting happened. I imagine there may be a lieutenant or two left of a given Dragon, and they may be leading the forces to do something worth noting. But that’s all up to anet. So yeah, maybe there’s only say.. 3 expansions worth or content in the points I listed? And my point that anet can pull any story they want out of their butt whenever still stands. If they want the game to continue, it will. And I just don’t see the need for a sequel, I hate how games are always moving on to the next version. Why bother getting attached to a game if you know ahead of time they won’t stick with it as long as they could? That’s always bothered me with games like battlefield or call of duty that release a new one every few years, and it’s something I’ve loved about MMOs like WoW and the other big names (GW2 included)
