We will probably get 2-3 months, not 6, before the next LW seasons starts after EoD. > > Though I will say I can see two more LW season after EoD. LWS6 will probably be to EoD as LWS4 was to PoF. PoF took us to the desert and northern Elona, while LWS4 expanded on Elona. EoD will take us to Cantha, and LWS6 will add more into Cantha, and tie up loose ends from EoD. LWS7, if it happens, will probably be used to finish up the last remaining major plot threads. Assuming the hypothetical LWS6 and 7 are around the same 16-18 months we saw with LWS4 and IBS, that gives us around another 3 years after EoD before its done. The game would end around the 12th anniversary which, TBH, is longer then most MMOs last in terms of getting new content. > > As it stands, GW2 has closed up most of the plot threads it started at launch, and even since then. > * Humans(Bandits are defeated, White Mantle has crumbled, centaurs have been pushed out, peace made with Charr/able to build new settlements in Ascalon) > * Sylvari(Mystery behind their origin revealed, Pale Tree healed, Nightmare Court largely crushed) > * Charr(Branded are dead, Flame Legion brought back into Charr society, peace with Humans made, Charr civil war over Khan-Ur done) > * Norn(Learned the truth behind Asgeir's battle with Jormag, discovered what happened to the lost spirits, Jormag's tooth prophecy enacted) > * Elona(Forged defeated, Joko dead and his empire fallen, Sunspears restored, new government rebuilding the nation) > * Cantha(EoD and LWS6 will likely deal with the corrupt empire/Kurzicks/Luxons/Canthan racism) > > There's only a few things like the Asura story stuff(we will probably get at least some of this in Champions), Malyck, the ghosts of Ascalon, and Wizard Tower(likely a raid if anything) But really. All the major plot threads GW2 has started are mostly done. Keeping a story going for 12 years is pretty kitten difficult without running into the "what do we do next" issue. Aside from what you listed at the bottom, multiple threads you say are closed are only partially addressed, and each of them could easily blow up into an expansion or at least living world season; Centaurs have been pushed out? Well, they've suffered defeats and were probably in disarray for a few years after we killed the Ulgoth, but they still have their home in the woodland cascades to attack from. Our last update was Lake Doric, and they were still antagonizing humans. I actually hope this one becomes a full plot because I really want to see the entire woodland cascades, whether in an expansion or living world. I also feel like the peace with Charr and Humans is kind of strained at best. Anet likely won't address it given our path leads to Cantha, but if they had wanted to they could have fractured that peace in the Icebrood Saga. Obviously Bangar wasn't big on humans and I seem to remember some NPC somewhere along the way having dialogue that made me think there could still be potential for a war with these races? Can't remember who though and it's not likely now, but worth mentioning. And the Nightmare Court got a new leader. The story was mostly cut from HoT so we haven't learned much of anything about what they're up to nowadays. Maybe with Champions being all about allies worldwide, we'll see them again? The Norn plot is still active, not resolved. The tooth prophecy is not done, Jormag isn't dead. Did all Norn learn the truth about Aesgir or just our character? Yeah the spirits are still alive, even including Owl, but how are they reacting? What does this mean for them? Many unanswered questions. Forged are still roaming here and there, I believe. And there was the implication that the order of shadows was more sinister than we had first thought. And of course I'm sure there are pockets of branded still around too. There's reason to revisit Elona too, though not much I suppose. Not to mention countless other teases, like Kodan being from the even more distant far north, the Krait obelisks and their prophecies about their prophets returning to flood the world, The mystery of the human gods, particularly Lyssa. There's supposedly giants across the Blazeridge mountains right? And ogres came into Ascalon from there too, why are they leaving? What about the rumored Charr lands to the east as well, Ash lands? And the Blood Citadel. And the trade routes on the order of whispers map with one route going to another continent we know nothing about - a 4th human homeland? Similarly, the old Utopia lore was recently brought up in the Guild Wars art book and made to fit into the current canon, and now we know about some mysterious island in the mists called Xotecha where the old gods before the six we've ever known lived. And the Maguuma Wastes, remember something caused them to dry up - it was implied to be Primordus, but was never confirmed. And anyway, why would he do that and when was he over there? Also the Isles of Janthir, the potential Mursaat homelands, and the rumors people with True Sight lived there? Why was Caudecus headed there in season 3? There must be something happening there. The purification of Orr and a potential storyline where both humans and sylvari try to live in Orr again, and this also brings up the subject of dragon minions after all the dragons are dead. The Mordrem Guard were capable of thinking for themselves, where are they? Still just sitting around in the jungle? Remember the implication that harpies came from Dzalana, and may have some sort of ties to Dwayna? Remember the Largos and their assassin based culture with houses, how does that work? Where are they and what's their story outside of being menaced by the DSD? There are easily 5 more expansions of content just from the hints they've already dropped through the years, and of course, being the writers of the franchise, anet can add literally whatever they want wherever and whenever they want. The game has limitless potential and no need to die after the ED plot ends.
  2. Yeah, this is the kind of thing I’d kill for another shot at getting, bugs me how they never brought it back. They should also give another opportunity for the dragon emblem outfit and ascended Aurene outfit
  3. I don’t think the game really is in serious need of it but if anet has a chance to upgrade without hurting other things like the pace of content, then by all means! It certainly won’t hurt anything. I also appreciate whenever anet takes the time to upgrade old models or locations if they can justify it in the current story
  4. At least you can buy these on the TP, unlike scion, sunless, and broken voice sets. Those 3 need to be added to the wardrobe unlock so there’s at least SOME ay to guarantee unlocking them, even if it takes literally thousands of other skins first
  5. Yes absolutely, the new weapon has always been the best part of new specs. Someday in an ideal world, every class would get every weapon
  6. > @"borgs.6103" said: > Through a huge Fire Elder Dragon corpse bridge that spans from Bloodtide Coast to Kaineng City Not sure if you're being sarcastic or not, but Primordus' body falling and being so large it's the size of a whole new region in the game would be epic! Preferably over the ocean so it doesn't override areas we can already see on the map or may want to visit.
  7. Sea for sure but I won't be too surprised or disappointed to see it be airship.
  8. As much as I agree they're cool weapons, part of the idea was that they were the actual weapons of the Steel Warband, of which there were only 5 members, so only 5 weapons were made. Then again, who cares about the continuity of minor characters using weapons if it gets us more cool skins?

You guys are making me want to play SWTOR lol, we're only supposed to promote _guild wars_ here ;) I do wish there was still a clone wars era mmo though
  10. I know its disappointing and the lack of communication on how this works is garbage, but to be fair it's been _one week._ That really isn't all too long, it's most likely we'll be getting updates every two weeks (except late december maybe)

  12. Don’t feel like anything was lost, because all the maps we got were fantastic and it’s never too late to get that big sand dune one you speak of. I’d like that too, a map that’s largely unending dunes with not much but some enemies maybe. In this instance having less content in those areas of the map would actually be good and build the ambience. Maybe the mountains outside fields of ruin are fully populated with events and such, then a long desolate stretch until the desert highlands, with branded enemies near the brand storm and enemies like sand eels and such hidden in the dunes. I agree with the argument a classic desert for PoF would’ve gotten boring fast, but I would like to see one map that’s like this, just one is more enough. I think it would be really good to capture that desolate feeling of being lost in the dunes (even if of course the map isn’t monstrously huge and of course we have waypoints). I know people aren’t big on map-bound masteries but I think some manner of gesture in this map where you actually need to acquire water to traverse it would be cool. There’s nothing for miles but the odd cactus or dying tree, and every once in a while you find long abandoned trader’s carts buried partly or entirely beneath the sands from the last time anyone tried to travel this route.

These episodes don't have the glaring issues that LS1 did, but they still have the little annoyances like this

No point in having them hang around forever in the wallet if they're a short term thing. This is it, they won't be relevant forever. Soon enough you'll stop getting them or being able to spend them most likely

Except for loss of ability to show prestige I guess, but it would only be some people turning off the most obnoxious effects, so prestige isn't a good argument > > Nothing is prestige in swinging a credit card for a over expansif ugly glow fest :/ I meant if you earn it, you'd have to spend thousands of dollars just to get a few of the high end ones, I doubt many people do that. Even if they do, the point that people get this stuff to show off still stands, but like I said it isn't valid enough to mean there shouldn't be an option to turn others' visuals off

An update on the Pale Tree, for example. I really like them playing up the Asura and Norn racial hatred and bias against certain dragons, they're both right in a lot of ways and it'll be interesting to watch unfold, I could see the two races come into direct conflict as we have to decide ultimately whether to kill Primordus and let Jormag continue with whatever they're plotting, or kill Jormag before it can do anything irreversible, and face Primordus without help from Jormag. > > This is an interesting thought. Way back the devs mentioned they might bring back player-driven plot choices, such as electing Evon or Ellen Kiel back in Season 1. What if there's a similar vote on whether Primordus or Jormag dies? > > Not sure how I'd feel about that. I've only just played through the initial story leading up to DRMs, but thus far it seems like everyone is VERY conveniently accepting the notion that the 'balance' of The All is fake. A LOT of talk about killing Primordus without any push back that another elder dragon death (without a replacement) would doom the world. I will honestly be upset if the writers handwave the last several years of plot building the notion that we NEED multiple beings to maintain The All so flippantly. Sure, I could *maybe* see Jormag lying to get their way (especially if they've got a secret scion that could ascend in Primordus' place), but for Aurene, the Commander, and Taimi to just... not bring up the impending apocalypse if Primordus *is* killed? It makes me very worried the narrative team thinks we're complete imbeciles that wouldn't notice or wouldn't care about this dramatic departure from the status quo built up for the past several years. > > Like these notions of killing Primordus are entirely uncontested. The notice that the balance is fake is entirely uncontested. What??????? Yeah, I mean we've SEEN the effects of killing dragons with rampant ley-energy, for one. The only evidence we have that the balance of The All isn't a real problem is the claim of a dragon, who, remember, has a literal domain of magic called PERSUASION, says so, and says that it's older and wiser than all of us and we won't understand it. Is it possible Jormag is subtly manipulating us all, but we the commander don't realize it because we still don't trust Jormag and therefore assume it hasn't gotten to us... but it has.
  18. Even long before mounts, I always wanted a dragon and it's even better than I had imagined. My only gripe is I need more skins, I need at least 1,000 dragon skins
  19. Woo, glad it wasn't intentional for them to be so tough. Can't wait to try it again!
  20. Say what you will about this episode, it does have flaws, but I really liked the story (thus far, whether it's good in the end will depend on how the whole saga goes), and especially how we got to touch up on subjects and characters we haven't seen in a long, long time. An update on the Pale Tree, for example. 21. I don't think this is too crazy, like you said it's called Champions, and the more champions they write in, the more relevant it will be. It seems the theme is meant to be dragons and their champions at the moment, so I imagine something to represent Primordus will emerge. Wouldn't be surprised if it's just a monster destroyer like he's used in the past (The Great Destroyer), but I could see it being a character too
  22. I've no doubt we'll see some new pets, but like previous expansions it will surely be some of the indigenous creatures of the new region we visit. Skyscales are native to Dragonfall, and while they may have spread out, I doubt any have gotten as far as Cantha.
  23. > @"choon.6308" said: > Add the sales tax and that sale becomes obsolete Sales tax is generally 8.25%, a ways off from 20%. Also, if you pay that when you buy a card (it varies by retailer but Best Buy has always taxed me personally), you'll be paying that whether the card is on sale or not, so you still end up paying 20% less than you would otherwise. You aren't even exempt from taxes if you buy gems through the game
  24. > @"Vavume.8065" said: > I would like to see more infusions that have aura's rather than infusions that change your skin. THIS, SO MUCH!! Seriously how many fricken skin auras are they gonna add? you can only use one, _maybe_ two, depending on the ones you pick, before they become a garbled mess and you can't tell which ones they are any more. Whereas aura effects always work regardless of the other stuff you have on. I'd like to get as many different infusions as I can to fill all the slots, but there aren't enough aura ones to even do that, especially if you factor out the unattainable ones like chak and confetti. My greatest dream would be a green lightning infusion, but honestly I'll be happy with anything that's not a skin effect. EDIT: I also wanna gripe a little about how when they finally did add more aura effects, they made them enrichments, which you can only have ONE of! The koda's warmth, otter's blessing, and birthday fireworks would all blend together excellently, but since they're all enrichments, we can never have that dream as a reality. Really bugs me to no end.
