  1. Beetle Races took me some practise to get Gold and the Golden Scarf on those, but once you have it under control, it's fun to do. I'd say medium hard. Griffon, people really need to learn how the griffon works. Once you master that, and figure out that the Griffon is a true flying mount, those adventures are a lot easier. I'd say medium hard, but by FAR the most fun mount Jump Puzzles I do enjoy them, but as for content I do consider those the hardest of the 3. For Skyscale you have first off all the achievement that gives you "Ruler of the Skies" Look up Skyscale Rider (requires a fully trained skyscale) not hard, just time consuming There is a Skyscale Adventure in Grothmar. South-east of the map you see that water part called "Kralkatorrik's Emergence Zone" Right on a cliff on the north end of that lake is the Skyscale Adventure. Few notes: - Although it helps, it is not required for any beetle race to do the air stunts to make gold. Quicker recharge just makes them easier in some cases. - To get the gold time for the Golden Scarf, that can also be done during a race. The one in Snowden being tight to get the gold time might be the prime example of where a race can help (round 2 and 3 are a flying start lol) - Speaking of a Flying start (Both Griffon and Beetle races are perfect for this) You can have a "rolling" start. You know when you roll up to the adventure, the window pops up right? You can then quickly hit enter and off you go. Some people are so good in timing that, that they actually come in full speed, precious time won on the start makes your life a lot easier. You can get gold on all of them without doing perfect runs. I recorded all beetle tracks and all griffon tracks and specially in the beetle one, where I do Maelstrom, I got seriously stuck twice, and still got gold. Use Bond of Faith when you have it... helps a lot (I save it for when I run into problems mostly)
  2. I regularly run Deadeye Glass Canon build with zergs and cannot remember being ridiculed, laughed at or chased away. Maybe there is a difference in the squads on the server I run, compared to your server, but where I play, they understand the value of the thief, in whichever spec it comes. What you experience, is more a squad that - in my humble oppinion - is too stuck in their blob ways to recognize the value of the Thief, or any other "less popular" classes for that manner. A good commander sees someone on a class and gets creative thinking how they can use that class, rather than "I don't need that class - go away"
  3. Comparing the cost of gw2 - the ease on getting Transmutation Charges - the ease on getting selfstyle hairkits... to for example the yearly cost of playing WoW... No brainer
  4. The only thing that is broken with barrage is the fact it goes through structures as well. It would be more acceptable to a lot, that it would be stopped by rooftops etc, and not go straight through it. (specially stone/wood) Also remember barrage does not complete when you interrupt the ranger.
  5. I am not a huge fan of the male character's voice, and therefor switched to mostly using female characters. However it had nothing to do with the quality of voice acting, but more to what I personally find pleasing to hear while I play this game. And that is partially the problem here, it's personal.
  6. It is boring and repetative. I have times where I do not step into WvW for weeks. It's like playing the same story instance every single day. There is hardly any variety in the gameplay, the participation system is punishing and most maps are so numbingly boring that it becomes hard to motivate yourself to get out there and do some Roaming. The contradiction from Anet as well. We all know that Server Reset is one of their big money makers, yet the gamemode that makes them so much, is utterly ignored. I find that, to be quite honest, a HUGE insult to their playerbase.
  7. They know this is cheap copy/paste content that most of us are extremely dissapointed in, so in this way, they artificially try to keep this sub par content alive. Which is obviously not working at all. Without a group of friends, they are the same as Strikes: dead for the average player. I am extremely dissapointed. These new DRMs are... Not even worth mentioning.
  8. Griffon is for me still the prevered mount over the Skyscale. Considering it's the only true flying mount (when properly used) it is VASTLY superior over the Skyscale and gliding for long distance horizontal traveling in the air. However they can work together beautifully. Same with updrafts we have in some maps, works great together with skyscale or griffon. Once you master the abbility to mount mid-air, it all makes sense. Skyscale helps you to get up high, but has a worse glide-ratio than gliders. Once you wonder too far from where you start, it really starts to decent fast. That is where gliding brings you further, and the Griffon comes to life. The Griffon is capable of true flight, something neither gliding or the skyscale has. I do not see a need for changes myself. Not as long as a Griffon can gain altitude on its own. (when fully mastered and properly used) Part of me likes the idea, but as one that finds the Griffon already one of the best mounts out there, I do not see a need for it.
  9. Yeah I don't see how saving 5 minutes a day effects the economy. It's supply and demand - I cannot get more out of my home daily because I can only farm it once The only reason it might effect the TP is if more people decide to farm their home due to it. But considering the small amount of time saving, I very much doubt that.
  10. There's one tip I always give anyone that doesnt have s4 yet and plans to get it. Make it a habbit to try to get into a daily full home farm. Takes a few minutes, tons of people around inviting guests and a good way to start the Material grind before you own s4 or Bjora. On my main account I got the skyscale done when released and its good to see that the time gating has been taken care of. Furthermore knowing what you need upfront can prevent sudden roadblocks in grinds. After getting the skyscale, I didnt use my griffon for a while, but by now, I rediscovered it. That came due to a few youtube videos that showed me how amazing the Griffon is as only true flying mount It is in sheer unit speed the fastest (with Beetle as close second) and when done properly, you can travel entire maps without loss of altitude. The skyscale is a bit a "springer killer" in my oppinion, and a handy mount. But is misses the sheer fun of racing through the sky, diving under a bridge on top speed, to then pull up again. The Skyscale is a very practical mount.
  11. It's indeed been asked many times before, and yes it has been ignored by Anet systematically, but for the record: I fully want this. Stop the disconnects during unskippable cinematics Stop the constant frustration from doing extremely long instances all over again while you were 1 click away to end it. Stop the "most likely problem is router settings" lie Actually start fixing your old content.
  12. My responce on this topic: *sigh* You wanna know what kind of other classes' toxic builds I run in to as a thief? Do you?
  13. Although I like emotes and welcome new ones, making them the end reward of a meta (as with the /shiver) is a pathetically cheap action from Anet.
  14. Any class can be viable. ANY class. Just the wannabe elites that copy Snowcrow's groupbuilds (Not solo builds) scream that some classes are bad I mean fractal t4: NO thief! thief is useless in party in t4 fractals! Can someone call Hizen and tell him that, while he solo's t4 on any class (including thief) on CM? IGNORE Snowcrows as the poor standards for Meta Builds. IGNORE the wannabe elites with their uneducated demands in their groups and their false assumptions on classes. ANY class is viable.
  15. Same here, grind them for the masteries and achievements, then turn around and never look back at these. Poorly implemented, predictable, copy/paste work. Not a single real developer was involved the 3 missions so far were 3 times same thing. Professional studios should NEVER resort to copy/paste, yet here we are.
  16. I like the idea. It does not affect the economy from my point of view at all. Reason? I farm my home every day, I gather all nodes and stuff... instead of spending 6 to 8 minutes gathering, I talk to a butler and I get my stuff in less time. I still get the EXACT same stuff, just faster. So there is not more stuff suddenly going onto the market. I simply only saves you a few minutes of time each day.
  17. ow I myself wont stay on a map that is spawn camped by a bully server, no way. I do, however hold such servers responsible for the deminish of WvW. They chase away new players, and scream the loudest that WvW is boring and dying. Look, I am not arguing that there are 3 other maps to play on. I myself love Red BL due to the terrain deminishing the advantage of blobs vs roamers. I am just saying this type of basement kiddie bullying should be delt with. How can they prevent anyone from leaving? 1. They put TONS upon TONS of siege down from the keep to the very edge, but just out of reach of anything you can build 2. Anything you build is destroyed IMMEDIATLY 3. they heavily protect the 2 flanking towers and put Watchtower on them the minute it is available to see everything 4. Anyone trying to escape and caught by the 2 watchtowers is jumped upon with great force (average 10+ on 1 player) and laughed at Spawn Camping to this level is due to the poor design of EBG. There are 3 exits yes, but not much room to manouvre around. Unlike the Borderlands where the closest towers are far enough away to sneak around them without being caught by watchtower mechanics. I can get to a camp without being marked by a watchtower or sentry on any of the BLs from any of the spawn points. I can NOT do that on EBG from either Blue or Green corner and only can get to Speldan's avoiding watchtower on Mendon's by taking the most northern route. These are not fight servers, The minute you are caught by a sentry or watchtower you are jumped upon by 10 players. They are not looking for an evenly matched fight, they are looking for easy bags and a false sence of superiority "Look how badass we are, killing that player with the 10+ of us!! Woot!!! " And those are in general the same people screaming and crying that WvW is dying, And why you think it is dying? Ow wait, That might be a too difficult question for you. I don't feed spawncamping bullies and stay clear of servers known to do so. I also protest if our side does it, although if they manage to do that against a server that does it all the time, I really cannot blame them... but please don't be part of the problem... just my 2 cents... Not expecting any change from Anet to begin with.
  18. Look Guild Wars 2 relies on the OpenGL software. A TON of products rely on it. In this case, it is Apple that desided to remove OpenGL support, which leaves thousands upon thousands of their customers in the cold. Don't blame Anet, blame Apple. Do a search on OpenGL, see how much out there depends on it... Anet is just 1 of thousands. This is Apple, pushing THEIR ideas down the throat of developers. I've done a few projects using OpenGL, I always stayed away from Mac to begin with for those projects because honestly... the tech world knew this was coming for years already. If you blame someone, blame the right person: Apple (ps NOT an apple hater or windows fanboy. Both have their pro's and cons...)
  19. I have never attempted, never joined and never will join a 100% rep guild. That was not my point. If it sounded degenerating, sorry. 100% rep req is a definite 100% nope from me, simple. If people want to ask that, go ahead, I wont join. As an example I had a friend getting upset over a guild he joined because they demanded 100% rep. It was a pure PvE guild and he wanted to join a WvW guild as well. Got kicked when repping another guild in a game mode they didn't even cater to. I told him what many here said before: Tons of guilds that are way more reasonable. As I stated the ONLY real pet peeve I have with Repping is the Map Indicator. When I rep a guild, they can spot me on the world map. Sometimes I dont care, sometimes I want to be left alone and not advertise my whereabouts. That is a feature that cannot be turned off, and actually my PRIME reason to rep my own private guild or no guild most of the time.
  20. Just stay away from the "mandatory 100% rep" power freaks that love to stalk you. problem solved! What I really want: Option IF I want to show my current location to my Guild Mates.,, That this is default behavior is one of the reasons I usually rep my private guild. Other than that: Choose your guilds wisely, asking Rep during guild missions or event is more than reasonable. Demanding 100% rep all the time... Not happening. Ever.
  21. Incorrect. Some servers love to bully others. I have whitnessed this behavior happening last and this week. Hours on end even. They call it Spawn Camping or Bag Farming. The minute you step out of the save zone (determined is off) you are bombared by rangers, thiefs, from all 3 exits. They even tier up surrounding towers to have Watchtower on it, to seriously prevent anyone entering the map. I myself simply see that happening and leave. I will never give such low life bullies the pleasure to kill constantly. But saying it's not happening... open your eyes. Some servers are Notorious for doing it even. Not naming here though, not going into a dirt fight.
  22. You can switch between them if you want to. But with Locked you mean you cannot play HoT? The only reason to play in order is continuity of the storyline. HoT Masteries: You can start all masteries after you got into Verdant Brink using the opening story. PoF Masteries: There are 2 things locked behind finishing that storyline. The Griffon Mount. You will not be able to go after that mount untill you finished Path of Fire entirely. The same goes for the Skimmer Diving Mastery.
  23. Been saying this forever and even recently. Being disconnected which is hardly NEVER on my side, on the VERY LAST bit of a story (happened to me twice recently on the annoyingly long "departure" story instance of PoF) has always been a big issue. It is not just an oversight... compared to other games it is an absolute disgrace how often we have to replay ENTIRE parts just because Anet has - Poor server connections - Lack of interest to ad checkpoint - Lack of interest to fix older content Thumbs up on this post. Lets hope it finally wakes the developers up. What I propose: 1. Checkpoints! Beat a boss, start a boss? Good checkpoint to save progress 2. Skip buttons on ALL Cinematics since those are, at least from my experience, the most common times you disconnect 3. An end to the lie that "router settings" are the "most common reason" because that is insulting. I put in place ALL recommondations I got from Anet after a support ticket. Inprovement due to that? ZERO. My router is NOT the problem! Proven beyond reasonable doubt! Anet please STOP ignoring this and DO SOMETHING.

I used a character in the core game to see what the bar is currently at, then another to do a Drizzlewood adventure - the bar increased (note the bar is shared). Wait so you get Core Tyria XP? That is new. In Icebrood my bar is zero and stays zero. I never seen an increase elsewhere in any other system. PoF has its own bar, HoT has it's own, Core has too, always been like that. Even after maxing masteries Gonna see if I can see the same, but gees, some consistency would be in place.

They did, yet they broke it again. I tested it. I ran the 3 adventures in Drizzlewood Coast. Each gives slightly over 100k XP when running gold. I managed gold on all 3, which is more than 300k XP. Considering in every other map, I get 1 spirit shard for 256k XP, it is unfortunately broken... The issue that was fixed was hiding the masteries that could not be completed yet, so that you can at least earn XP for spirit shards. And the upcomming locked masteries are... again... not hidden. Anet learns slow, too slow. So no more Drizzlewood, Bjora etc for me untill they fix it. And the sad part? I am not suprised AT ALL that they made the EXACT mistake again.
