  1. if you use the badges of honor from general achievement milestones (5,000 achievement points, etc) and use them for the wvw daily (buying an item for 30 badges of honor) in the guild hall (badge of tribute or w/e) you can get a potion of wvw reward that way to progress the gift of battle reward track. takes a long while but doesnt involve any combat. alternatively, if you tend to buy black lion chests there is an occasional war chest which drops potions of mist reward which progresses both pvp and wvw reward tracks, but the last time it was offered was i think back in march.

Maybe drinks or food (cooking!) that apply random or specific debuffs to you periodically that effectively suppress specific (or random) boons? Last a period of time, and a drink/food to clear them.

This is pretty much the only way i can see to do it with minimal dev time. have a potion or food item that gives the player health degeneration, a stronger poison like effect which nerfs incoming healing or both in the case of Agony. Like other posters here have said, this would affect a very very very small amount of players (if you want a challenge fighting mobs wear white armor or none at all) so not much time should be spent on it.

  3. In other MMOs I tend to play tanky characters for solo content (paladin, force shielder etc), but for group content ranged support/healers (white mages, summoners, priests) both light and dark themed. Also I like the durability and bringing a longer duration fight.

In card games like Magic, it tends to go back and forth between these two as well. Angelic knight or dark healing/necromancer.

In DnD its definitely a wizard or cleric with the necromancer sub set.

In WoW it was paladin for soloing, while discipline/shadow priest for group content. PVP played both.

In Final Fantasy its kinda the same thing. White mage, black mage, summoner, knight.

In cabal online was the only one I couldnt play a support, just a shielder.

    In guild wars 1 I started with a warrior/monk then started a necromancer/monk.

So then here we are in GW2. first and still main is a necromancer (core, reaper and scourge depending on mood and situation), second and main alt is a guardian. Followed by druid.

  4. I'm kind of in the middle on this. While I like the idea of just having enough hero points to unlock the new elite spec right away, Id also like to have the new elite specs expanded upon lore wise. Perhaps a short instance of having an npc teach us what it means to have our new powers, a tutorial of how of use the new mechanic. Unfortunately making 9 separate instances would be too time consuming/work intensive since not everyone plays every profession. Having the npcs answer questions in elona was a nice step forward, id just like to see it pushed a bit further. I just dont like the idea of having an elite spec blocked behind a quest since there is also a percentage of the player base that doesnt do much pve or expansion content.

being able to spam out weaker minions iss cool ans a nice throwback to gw1. i just prefer the idea of 'shadow people' b/c of its creepy ghost angle and its more similar to mesmer. win/win either way.

the shoulders are different/hidden but the rest is tribal armor. since it requires a reward track to get the pieces its prolly an uncommon sight.

  7. It would be interesting if Shroud rather than decaying on its own, would lose life force based on damage taken as well as a percentage per ability used while in shroud kinda like how revenants have energy costs. Could maybe work with core and scourge but as mentioned above reaper having as much cleave as it does would likely break even on cost of at least its auto attack if not still gain additional LF.

  8. During the stream, we’ll give away some codes for an Ascended Aurene Clothing Outfit so your characters can stay cool and look stylish through the end of summer.

All I can say is, way to screw over those that have to be at work during the stream. I like to catch a stream when I can but it sucks to miss a giveaway just because we have obligations outside of gaming. The only way this could work is if the code isnt limited in supply but rather limited to a time based window, but I doubt it'll work that way.

Other than Gaile isnt with the company anymore and so had nothing to do with the current discussions.

  10. Agreed that mounts should not be able to stealth. On my thief (in pve) I can use shadow refuge, mount up after the first tick, wait for it to finish and my character will be stealthed but the mount will not. While amusing it should be this way in every mode.
