  1. **Please fix this:** Make Response Mission instances have no instance owner (like in Dungeons!), so that the other four players aren't deprived of their final reward chest (_the_ reward chest for which players are doing the challenges in the first place!) whenever the instance owner leaves after grabbing their loot before the others had a chance to do the same. This can't be intentional... (??)

It doesn't hurt to read at least the last post before posting yourself. :3 > @"Undertaker.4368" said: > @"Ashantara.8731" yes i did. Problem was with not standard cpu and now all is ok :) thank you for help <3 Glad everything works fine now. :) Perhaps you can mark this thread as solved by adding a [solved] tag to its title so that people know it's been resolved. ;)
  3. > @"GrimReaper.3865" said: > im using 64bit client anyway , im trying to give it another shot by doing 32bit now Most people, including myself, are using the 64-bit client and are not having any issues with it. The 64-bit client is totally stable and better than the old 32-bit one. > @"GrimReaper.3865" said: > and yes im still stucked on 22% even when using 32bit launcher GG When you moved the installation folder, did you execute the following steps first before you started the GW2 launcher? * Delete the **%appdata%\Guild Wars 2** folder * Delete the **Gw2.dat** in the game's installation folder * Delete the **Gw2-64.exe** and replace it with [**the installation client**](https://account.arena.net/welcome), then **rename** _that_ EXE to Gw2-64.exe and execute it for installation If you do this and it still doesn't download fluently, then you should try the solutions posted earlier.

Yes. I was shocked when I realized this and was thinking to myself, "If this was a problem related to party-sized content rather than squad-sized, then why do dungeons have no instance owner? Makes no sense." I hope this will get fixed pronto.
  5. Sounds like your hardware (GPU? CPU?) is overheating; perhaps one of your hardware components has been permanently damaged by overheating. What are the temperatures? Side note: GW2 does not show in the list of installed applications. So you don't need to uninstall it, you can simply delete the three folders if you want the game completely removed from your system (the last folder isn't necessary to delete if you are going to re-install the game): * your GW2 game installation folder * %appdata%\Guild Wars 2 * C:\Users\your-user-name\Documents\Guild Wars 2 P.S. Have you conducted proper system maintenance (i.e., removing junk files, outdated Windows installation files, outdated backups, etc)? Also, have you cleaned your PC recently (as dust on your hardware and between the fan blades and cooling ribs is bad and expedites overheating issues)? > @"Sorra.1735" said: > win10 pro (not sure if this is needed but sometimes the pro version is a pain in the butt) Professional versions are always the best, as they don't impose restrictions on the user the way Home versions do.
  6. > @"Svennis.3852" said: > They are going to release more content as the weeks go by, similar to season 1 (which I might add a lot of people have been looking to that content format with rose colored glasses the last few years). I've repeatedly read this false claim these past couple of days. It's just not true. People were asking for Living World Season 1 to be re-released as playable content in the style of Season 2, 3 and 4. No one was asking for even worse spoon feeding than we've already had this past year (namely in the style of the _original_ Season 1).
  7. > @"GrimReaper.3865" said: > so i having an issue after the latest patch hit the server , tried to download it on launcher but it just stopped at 17% and i cant even play , i decide to restart my pc since i think it would fix most of the problem but now when i even already uninstall it and install it again , the download just wont start , it stop at 20% and not playable Before you attempt any of the fixes, try something else: move your GW2 installation out of Windows' programs folder and install it in a non-Windows location (either a new folder, e.g. "Games", or - even better - on a separate partition). Add that installation location to your antivirus' list of exceptions.
  8. You can delete the [Local.dat](https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Local.dat) and also try a repair of the client. Furthermore, defragmenting your HDD (or trimming your SSD, if not done in a while) could be a good idea.
  9. > @"blp.3489" said: > If you are playing with strangers anyway, why not use the public mode, there isn't any time limit before close on those, or at least I have hung around for fairly long periods after the fight was over. When you are going for Gold, public mode is not the smartest option. ;) There really shouldn't be a time limit anyway, they should change it. This is not the Home Instance but a mission with rewards at the end. Everyone should have sufficient time to pick them up.
  10. > @"LucianDK.8615" said: > They are terribly boring and uninspired compared to Strikes, which is a lot better integrated into the game. Yes. Also, the instance owner has the power to deprive everyone else from their final reward (from the chest that spawns) by leaving the party once they have grabbed their loot. Something like that can never happen in a Strike Mission. They need to fix this.

Living World Season 4 8. The Icebrood Saga (a.k.a Living World Season 5) > Questions > Should I jump to HoT to unlock masteries (and get rid of that annoying popup)? Yes. Just doing the first mission is enough - however, it's a story spoiler. > At what point should I look at joining a guild? Whenever you feel like it. > Is it worth joining a guild? Depending on the guild's level of activity. There are plenty of guilds out there that have mostly inactive players. > I don't know if I'll ever do group content since I almost never have hours to play the game. I'm a self-employed 45-year-old with a family. You don't really need a guild then. I mean, it's nice to have access to the farming nodes in the guild hall, boni like cheaper use of waypoints, and access to guild missions that provide you with Guild Commendations. But it is not a must-have. > Did I miss anything? Is there anything else I should be working on? Ascended gear. > This is just my "learn the game" character. Should I wait until I have a keeper to join a guild? No. > If I should wait, what are the easiest group content characters to learn? All are "easy" once you are familiar with the mechanics. I always recommend a Guardian, but it takes practice (like most professions). Necromancer is probably easiest to learn in comparison, but it has mechanics too that you need to understand if you want to become a valuable member of a group (e.g., Heal Scourge, with teleporting downed players). In any case, take it easy and have fun. Don't stress yourself. The rest falls into place with practice.
  12. Yeah, so annoying. I wish I could find a map instance right now that is already at the last step (i.e., the fight against Kralkatorrik). Ugh...

  14. Have you tried deleting the Local.dat and repairing the game client?
  15. > @"Veprovina.4876" said: > To "play" sure. But i want it to "play more stable". > I can "play" it now, but even in some non demanding situations i get huge FPS drops that really make the experience horrid. The FPS drops will remain regardless of the hardware used, because the game is not optimized for best performance. However, with higher-end hardware, those FPS drops are less noticeable because the overall performance is higher.
  16. > @"Jilora.9524" said: > That's it. we wait till next episode or if they update in between Not till the next chapter, that would be a ridiculously long wait. I'm certain the story will proceed once the seven days have passed (i.e., next Tuesday).

  18. > @"Jilora.9524" said: > Like I have the gold but why would I dump 70+ gold each weapon plus the time gate to acquire the new lodestones. If only the weapon set(s) looked any good, I would at least feel motivated to get the achievement. But the way they look (plus the things you already mentioned) only makes it an expensive chore and nothing else. :-/
  19. > @"Aurelian Omenkind.2470" said: > I happen to be kind of large and so does my charr. That's a product of my ancestry RL isn't a computer game where a tall/big person blocks your view and proper movement by stepping into your player model and completely absorbing you. Also, no one in RL is wearing _huge_, _flashy_ back items. ;) In any case, I think the best reference point for average character size in GW2 is comparing size with story NPCs (Rytlock, Logan etc). That way, you won't risk to create a character that (in many cases, re: "huge and flashy") looks like a desperate call for attention.

Where do I get that? > > Both the faction vendors in EOTN sell it for 50g and 245k Karma Yes, thanks, got it by now. :) The response missions aren't as bad as expected, they are actually okay and somewhat fun. I just want to know how we will be able to replay the episode on other characters once the community event is over? Will the story become immediately available then?
  21. > @"Vayne.8563" said: > According to GW2 Efficiency, the percentage of people who have completed zone meta achievements are trending down. No wonder. Most achievements are mere grinding these days and therefore extremely boring to do, especially if you have to play a 90-120 minute meta like Drizzlewood Coast. I only finished the achievements that gave AP on the latter for the previous episode, because I was sick and tired of said meta event.
  22. I can't give a final evaluation yet, as I quit halfway through the episode, uhm sorry, _chapter_ last night out of sheer boredom. I am going to play the squad story mission next and will leave my final verdict once I have finished the whole chapter. Those response missions sound awfully boring, too... I'm glad they are connected to a community-wide event week and contain a few rewards to make them at least somewhat appealing to play.
  23. > @"Undertaker.4368" said: > It was overheat. :) Took me a while to finded but it was just hot :) Uh oh. That is _not_ good for the hardware. Have you installed more fans and configured fan speed properly to ensure the system doesn't overheat again? in every newer BIOS you should be able to configure CPU and case fan speeds, and your GPU fan speed should be configurable via its manufacturer's software.
