  1. You are right OP.

Maybe some people enjoy playing warrior. Like me i do love playing warrior because it gives me a wider picture of the game, when im lying down my face in the mud and i could watch whats behind the floor textures on thd pvp arena.

    Its amazing

    > **I've heard that one before and it's not doing so well in other games**. I remember when people were overpowered they were also untouchable and you had to spam low cooldown as the only way to win.

    >

    > I find it even more ironic that you look at duels from before feb patch on youtube, those that had high stakes and they'd take just as long to finish, except people could spam or do ridiculous damage with 1 effortless skill.

In which games? Can you elaborate?

BDO has this kind of balance and pvp is really fun, fast and exciting with few exceptions. Sure there is different combat style, but they dont nerf everything and everyone is happy to receive buffs, no class is completely useless in pvp. You wont tank damage, but you have a tons of way to avoid the said damage, believe it or not there is a way to make your character unkillable in this game too. And do you know best part about it? BDO has more players than it EVER had before, more and more plays it, despite it being a horribly pay2win game with excessive amount of grind. When GW2 is losing players, and i see lion arch getting empty and system asking me to change my town in the evening at 18 o clock on friday.

WoW in BFa was in a pathetic state when it came to pvp for THE EXACT SAME REASON GW2 IS RIGHT NOW.

Nerfing everything to the ground and making everyone a sponge for damage.

The best pvp was in legion where you could deal hundred of thousands of damage to few people with right timing and right combo that was amazing stuff.

FFXIV pvp is a joke also for the same reason GW2 is, takes forever to kill anyone, its still somehow worse because healers are overpowered there.

  3. The pathetic state of pvp in this game is caused by developers chasing the same thing FFXIV devs did with their pvp.

FFXIV oversimplified their pvp and killed it clean, making it unplayable with queue times exceeding 1 hour mark for anyone who want to play it.

Same is happening right now with GW2.

Instead of playing the same profession in all modes, you have a full experience in PVE, half of it in WvW and a shallow shadow of profession you play in PVP.

They literally murdered pvp with all those useless changes.

    > You are doing it wrong. The trick is not to get killed by a breeze as the elementalist, but to **kill the enemies** with a breeze.

That would be the case if ele had any good damage.

Berserker has higher damage, higher burst and is like 3 times as tanky.

    > Hard no. I really wish people would stop comparing GW2 and WoW. The business models are entirely different. Transmutation charges are easy to obtain and relatively cheap if one needs to purchase them. I prefer this current arrangement in lieu of a subscription model which would probably turn more players away.

    Whh not?

Wow, ffxiv, lotro and other games are competition to gw2.

Black desert online for instance allows you to change everything unlimited amounts of time for 15$ a month and is a free to play game. So?

    15$ for unlimited changes a month >>> 3 changes for 10$

And by saying "vastly" i mean exactly that - FF XIV's system, compared to what we have here, is _very_ primitive and limited. I'd love to have in FF XIV something that would be even half as good as the wardrobe here.

    >

Idk when you played ffxiv the last time but nope.

Ffxiv has a wardobe with 12 slots, that allows you to create 12 different looks you want to apply on gear, it cost you nothing and you could change your look to a preset you made in few clicks.

  6. Oh and adding a salt to the wound.

Why does ele doesnt have a good ranged weapon or a reliable and fast aoe with it? Why is this class forced to go melee range, when it dies by a single hit from a boss of any sort? Have you ever seen a mage in ANY game out there in the world that would be completely useless when using a mage weapon - a staff? I never did, but i guess guildwars2 and its developers tried their best to make the class design of this game make absolutely no sense at all.

Not to mention, majority of the skills on the hotbar plays no significant role to the gameplay, while other professions has skills packed with utility buffs, mechanics and more. Elementalist? All he has is some damage, some condi, have fun. Jesus this profession sucks.

  7. I always wanted to play elementalist in this game because it looked really fun to have all those diverse offensive skills available to me just like that especially with weaver spec. So i made one and got him to lvl 80 and got all the points needed for all traits.

I have tried him both condi, power weaver and tried some tempest and i have to say, this profession is utter garbage, sorry this comes from a mouth of a player who always played warrior berserker even before the buffs.

I die too much, and even if dont die and do some weird healing defense rotation my damage is completely useless and it takes many deaths to do any solo content. Never did i had so much problems playing a profession through storyline, but on elementalist i did, thanks to the pathetic health pool and defenses.

The rotation of skills for DPS is completely insane, i still cant learn it and i just give up trying, because that makes no sense at all. I dont see elementalist EVER surpassing my mediocore berserker with marauders in dps, which not only has way easier rotation but is three times as tanky as elementalist ever will be.

I have read a ton of comments and information on the internet and it seems like the class is OVERNERFED horribly and that Arenanet has some stupid vendetta against this fun to play profession, why?

The might changes, the many many different condi build nerfs, that just doesnt make sense. I barely see anyone playing elementalist today, and you keep nerfing him, why?

To clarify im only talking about PVE content here, solo, dungeons, fractals you name it, in all of them this profession struggle.

Poor newbie players who find themselves unable to progress the story because how garbage this class is, this shit is what drive players away from this game.

  8. Your main problem are your expectations you put in z combat and classes of this game.

The class design here is so horribly random that makes absolutely no sense at all if you ever played any other mmorpg.

You should not do that, and instead try out all classes until you find the one suiting you. However too bad for you, because this game balance also sux a big one and you will have a hard time deciding either way like me.

I like warrior its good but its also super boring. I like elementalist way better but guessvwhat, it super stinks in pve and i die to every single thing, i feel the same as you, disappointed.

It is what it is, you could try giving it a chance or go play other game. Imo the second is currently better.

You paid for an access to the product, not for a place or bandwith on the Anet servers.

They could close the servers even tommorow afternoon and you have nothing to say in this matter, read the terms of service.

You bought it from a retailer, who bought it from Anet.

Since it was retailer who originally bought the game and paid Anet money, Anet could only refund it to them, because anet has no legal bounds with you.

Refund means, a product being given back as well as the money paid for the product.

You would have to speak with a retailer if you want a refund, not with anet.

    > The skill seems like a strait up skill for pve only as no player will ever eat the whole skill In pvp unless they're afk. I'm surprised anet hasn't changed how the skill functions in pvp, even the anet balance team cant be so clueless to not see that lol but maybe I'm mistaken.

They are choosing the least resistance way of doing the balance.

If some weapon skills are bad, then they dont care because they want classes to use only 1 type of weapon with the rest being noob trap. You cant say if one class is useless, because there is always an option to play, but at the same time it completely kills diversity that you would expect from a game that came straight out from GW1 had in its glory days and its a shame for the guild wars franchise.

This is inherently bad and i cannot understand it without assuming anet have super lazy employees who are there just to clock in and out. The passion died in ANet head quaters.

    > Another intriguing piece of news came from the conference call with investors, and one question on Guild Wars 2. With many other popular IP getting a mobile version, it was put forward to NCsoft on the plans for Guild Wars 2 on mobile. NCsoft said that ArenaNet is conducting internal reviews on several projects, including mobile. Prototyping on new mobile games is also ongoing. For now, ArenaNet is not ready to launch any mobile titles.

With the amount of stunbreaks the game has, its completely useless, unless you land 4 consecutive stuns on target so you make sure you could use flurry. xD

And i am not even speaking here about stuns, because your could be stunned when casting flurry.

Job quests have been abandoned in FFXIV, and jobs themselves has been streamlined and simplified.

The FFXIV expansion is pretty disappointing and its clear that devs does not put as much money and effort into it than they did for previous expansions. A lot of gear models have been copy pasted with recolor only, some skills are copy paste of the previous ones too, there are less dungeons to do, we got no new mounts besides one ugly and hard to get, pvp is empty and barely changed.

Each expansion is based on exact same formula too.

If ArenaNet has anything to learn from FFXIV it would be to not make new expansions the same as the previous ones. 1 month into the expansion playing casually and i had no clue what to do anymore in FFXIV, grinding for better gear repeating same stuff over and over, because the previous expansion stuff is irrelevant, no thanks.
