"Just Reroll."

"Just reroll" you might say. "Why play necro? The Dev's hate the class. You haven't been viable for ANYTHING in 3 years. Just reroll already!"

But I shouldn't have to. This is a massive game company, running a game with 9 classes. 9. Not 15 (Tera), not multi-classes (FFXIV), not 12 (WoW). 9. 9 Classes. And you're telling me I have to reroll from one of the classes I chose, and fell in love with because the company who made the game is so inept that they can't even keep the classes sorta, kinda balanced?

That sucks. A lot. Truth be told though? I'm going to. I'm going to leave the one class I love in this game and go play something that just isn't as fun for me. Why? Because I don't want to drag everyone else around me down playing a class that can't even compete in DPS with other SUPPORT classes, while also offering almost 0 support.

It just feels wrong. I feel wronged. Like Anet attacked me personally. Like they showed up at my house, shot my dog and then said. "Just get a new one, geez."

I shouldn't have to get a new dog Anet. I had a perfectly good one, and you murdered it.

There is nothing wrong with what was changed. Balance was needed. And it is NOW balanced. If you disagree, it's because you felt how powerful necromancer was. It was crazy strong. It still can be. It is the only profession I play in PvP and while yes, it is harder to fight, I am still fully capable. Adapt, tweak your build to make up for what's lacking.

As far as PvE goes, I can only base my own experiences off of my response. I don't have trouble finding groups of any kind. Raiding, high fractals, it doesn't matter. I find groups. Stop trying to be "meta", that is your first problem :(

Actually necro was my main for the first year of gw2. There state today is about the same as it was back then depressing lackluster and anything going for the class always ends up being a bug or not intended and was gutted over and over again with getting almost nothing in return for pve. And Anet always promising to fix it but never actually doing so. So I left before the end of season one and did not return until a few months before HoT. When I came back I looked a the history of necro it was depressing and lackluster as always. So I decided to re-roll ele, and lets just say the grass is greener over here and when ever eles are nerfed its laughable.

Also what justify's the amount of damage the staff dose on ele.

i dont even play necro and i know they went overboard. necro was finally able to compete in pve and they fcking smashed it like power ps

ANET balancing team is not worth paying respect to #rant

Actually you didn't .. Necro's haven't been 'good dogs' for a long time, so let's be honest here. There was nothing perfect, or will be, exploiting a bug that wasn't intended that gives you ANY level of damage.

What's that say about the balancing team when a profession's only chance to be competitive is from a "bug"?

The problem is the changes didn't really address what made Scourges so powerful in PvP, it was sort of a half finished nerf in the place it needed to be nerfed and a massive nerf in the place it wasn't, PvE. As far as your experiences it's been 1 day, give it time things will change once people come to realize they can easily bring something else that is going to make their runs far easier, far faster and has a far better chance of not screwing up their rotation.

As for the meta, yea it's annoying but it works so people will stick to it, there is a hard limit outside of that. You can't just "push past your limits" with effort or grit, these are mathematical hard stops.

I am not really sure what you mean by "raid logs". Could you clarify please? I suppose I should also give a bit more information myself. I don't really raid super often. Maybe once weekly, as the content to me is boring since it's entirely just a DPS race, which I have never found fun. Sure, there are mechanics, but they don't do enough to take away from needing to deal damage rapidly. I like content that doesn't require specific gear, like T4 Fractals where if someone isn't wearing DPS gear the content is still engaging and fun.

You said before you don't have trouble finding groups to raid with...but you don't raid often. Okay then....

Yes, being below every other class in damage while offering less support is "balanced".

Your bias is showing. And it also shows that you don't raid "often" (ie: You likely only get carried in escort sometimes).

How does one love a class that is always nerfed and never ever good at anything because anet loves to trash it because they think it's funny? 4 years, always nerf, never buff!

But ya, keep playing it...

Try threatening to quit the game unless fix, havn't seen one of those threads in a while.

As a necro main since launch and with a level 80 character of every class...I've always come back to necro, hmm you might think I'm a masochist and you might be right but I've never been able to enjoy a class more then necro...So, re-rolling is out of the question for me. When nerfs like these happen I just take long breaks from guildwars 2 until the next patch and won't spend a single dime ingame until the next patch is even worth for me to play the game again. There are other games I can play in the mean time could careless.

Aka I tried other classes but found I was just not very good at game so I pretend to quit until people forget I said I was quiting.

Necro is my main till day one i play GW2 and he will be till the end. All Storys/Maps mostly of the archivments i've done with my norn lady. But i have also a DH and a Mesmer for type of contend a necro is not really wanted. Yes, sure if there will be a way to do endgame pve stuff with my necro only, hell yeah i would do it. But i'm getting a little bit tired of getting kicked or asked if i had an other class than necro to change too. Sad but true.

What I love is how they totally screwed the class up as a Oh it's a bug fix.. so you can't even enjoy your time in the light.. until you get nerfed in the upcoming balance patch two months from now.

This was just as bad as balance team nerfing Burnzerker for the first time.. Oh hey guys let's make it so only one of your scorched earth stacks on top and make everyone else's useless, and it wasn't even a balance patch but a minor let's kill this class fix.

Here's the best part.. they never admit they're wrong EVER, never retake their crazy mistakes and extreme harsh methods of shaving damage. When they nerf something they kill it.

That's now how you balance

Quit? No, I just take long breaks until they make it worthwhile for me to come back. I wouldn't say I'm the best player out there but I have finished all raid content and have hit legend in Spvp on numerous occasions. In the end doesn't matter all I know is I've invested the most time on my necro and the other classes just don't do it for me. I mean call it what you will but there is a reason people have mains and a favorite class they prefer playing over other's. I believe I have a little over 2k hours on my necro alone at this point.

Yeah I shouldn't really talk, I had 1k hours on my Mesmer before I learned using shatters was a good thing lol.
