PvP population

Recommended Posts

According to gw2efficiency, there are around 16,000 accounts that have finished placement matches this season. If this is accurate, then I would estimate that there are probably no more than a few hundred active players online at any given time (per region) and probably less than 100 players (not bots) at some off peak hours. Its been a fun ride but I dont think its possible for pvp to recover from this.

Years of neglect have reduced the population to what it is now, and it still doesnt seem like any effort is being made to bring people back. This is all just speculation and opinion, but it looks like the old balance team is back which is blind to the issues and criticisms of this meta. Each class rework and update seems to make gameplay worse by adding more lazy playstyles and passive combat mechanics. Performance is slowly degrading as bugs accumulate and the servers get older. Match quality is decreasing as population continues to decline, more bots are created, and hackers are left unchecked for longer periods of time. The only way population will increase is with the new expansion which is probably a couple years away, but even then there are still all the other issues that will likely never be addressed.

100 agree, it could be saved but won't be, going by what development has released and the quality of it either anets working off low resourses or has allocated them elsewhere. They may want to improve thing but just can't due to lack of resources or are working on delivering a different project in near future non gw2 related which is my bet. I'd guess cantha is going to be a smaller in scope expac that will feel rushed over all.

Too many nerf threads to support a healthy game, with the balance team focus on curbing what strong...we're left with a dwindling build diversity that inevitably forces players out of the mode...in most case the community is to blame with their egotistical take on balance
