Life force decreasing each map change since 1 december patch

Recommended Posts

Before if you had a necromancer this was the case if you had a skill traited like "Soul Battery" than your life force decreases now it decreases each map change (regardless of traits). I have not tested if this has to do with my Armor of my Necromancer though (has a slight bit of +Vitality cause 80 boost armor).

These are just 5 changes between Auric Basin and my Guild Hall even though the issue is minor it's still a minor annoyance as it did not exist before the 1 december patch.

ArenaNet:

Please make Life Force refill automatically when Necromancers are out-of-combat, similar to how health refills.

Necromancers can do this manually while out-of-combat by using certain skills (e.g. Blood Fiend / Bone Minions / etc.), but you just ruin Quality of Life by forcing a bunch of unnecessary button-pushing.

With regard to the OP's bug report, simply start Necromancers with 100% Life Force upon map change so we don't have to resort to mouse/keyboard macros to do this for us.

I believe the reason this isn't the case is due to competitive game modes. If you were some sort of hit and run necromancer in those game modes, getting out of combat and having your profession energy refill would be too strong in 1v1 fights. Just my thoughts on the topic.

A fair point. Perhaps they could provide QoL by having it refill automatically outside of combat when not in competitive game modes.

Let's just say before the 1 december patch I only noticed this if I had "soul battery" or something that significantly increases life force on. (And is disabled while switching maps I guess). The only other things that would cause this to happen were things like "Adventures" for example "On Wings of Gold" Auric Basin would reduce it from the shown above 13947 to 12879 (or something like that). Changing maps with my normal exploration / don't kill things build would normally never decrease life force changing maps.

(This is completely besides the point that changing the base level area's in map might decrease it because that would increase your HP / thus decrease your available life force compared to the max you have). I mean maybe I was just lucky to not notice it but I am noticing it now compared to not noticing it before means it's not working as intended.

Okay let me put it this way than:

Yes I used the level 80 boost on My Necromancer (after I was level 80 already) for some (somewhat) decent weapons and armor (and to free up a valuable shared inventory slot). This character of mine was created Aug 24, 2018 19:48 and has a playtime of 997 hours and 57 minutes playtime. In this time I have played this Necromancer (since 2018) the first time I encountered life force decreasing on map switches is since the 1 december patch. I would suspect myself filing a bug report earlier if I would have encountered this weird behavior in that about 998 hours of playtime ;) .
