Deadly Moonshiner.1354
Enjoyed GW1 very much. Now not playing anymore, just GW2.
Andiela.3759
Actually back then when i played Guild Wars 1 my PC didnt meet the minimum requirement for the game. While it was running pretty smoothly, the graphic itself was bit different from what other players had experienced. For example the clouds in the sky looked like from minecraft. Still loved it. Lonami.2987
I bought it during the second or third year of GW2, and I already got 50/50 HoM and GWAMM a long time ago. GW1 has pretty enjoyable long term rewards. I just wanted to see the story and get some HoM skins, and I ended up going for 100% =).

I noticed others are saying to manually add the image insert format text, but there is no need for that and a function exists to do it for you. Take that same https://i.imgur.com/rvDpUfL.jpg link you posted, but instead of pasting the link into your post and manually adding the format text, click the ![](https://i.imgur.com/mE3YujI.png "") (Mountains and Sun) icon on the bar and paste the link there. It will automatically format the link to insert the image. So: - do not paste the link in your post - click the insert image icon (sun and mountains) - paste link there Results in inserting this into your post: ![](https://i.imgur.com/rvDpUfL.jpg "")
Teofa Tsavo.9863
I played it enough to not appreciate how hard the Devs are now trying to force upon us the idea that NOTHING we did in GW mattered and how horribly things turned out for Tyria. Awakened Koss.. really? You just HAD to do that? Rubbing our faces in our failures. Another batch of GW heroes and personalities turned into enemy mobs or tortured souls. Another land we thought we had saved, destroyed. To top it off, the Charr, whose aggression kicked off a cascade of events that led to the destruction of Ascalon, Orr, and threatened Kryta get to skip around scot free and blameless in GW2. I've decided I NEVER want to see Cantha, not the way this group would portray it. I've been playing GW since the LS4 spoilers came out.
Chadramar.8156
An acquaintance tried to lure me in once but in the hour or so I followed her around I didn't understand anything and had zero fun, so that was that. :p Still it feels like "no" is closer to the mark than "played it just enough to realize it wasn't for me" because I'd never have touched it without her request. For one, I don't like human-only games. GW2 did manage to lure me in for two reasons: sylvari and charr.
Daffan.8924
Nope. I was hooked in WoW since Dec 2004. GW1 passed right over my radar.
Evil Geek.6904
Loved it, was my first online game, remember being concerned that people might actually try and talk to me :) Ending up running a full guild and managing a fan site, ate a lot of time. Still have friends I made in the game, ended up in a guild that holidayed together becoming RL friends. One of my fave in-game action shots fighting Kannaxai ![](https://i.imgur.com/eY3yG7P.jpg "") My Necro 'Evil Geek' ![](https://i.imgur.com/velFr7G.jpg "") Used to love playing the 1hp BiP build in Urgoz, such a hoot :)

Silmar Alech.4305
There was this day when we made all people in that Shiverpeaks outpost stand in line in front of the dwarven vendor. Our guild leader in front was making sure that nobody jumped the queue. ![imgur](https://i.imgur.com/A27gaQK.png)

I have to say, those first moments with the Asura Norn and Charr are moments that stuck with me till today. Certain very basic aspects of their Cultures are WAY better showcased than today, or even at launch of GW2. The same way with the stories of Gwen Master Togo and Saul Dallessio make alot more connections. GW2 misses alot of character because you dont follow NPCs that closely, IF they even have a name to begin with. And NPC characters have very little story tied to them other than their immediate problems.

Oh c'mon, of course the things we did in the original GW mattered. We made things worse :s Mostly by releasing Joko, but I think the main lesson is that it would have been better to allow the Titans to just destroy everything. Narcemus.1348
Sadly I didn't join until after Eye of the North was already out, but I still found time to spend over 3,000 hours in the game.
