swapping gear

Hi guys,

I am new to the form so i appologize if this post is about a topic that already exists or should be posted somewhere else. I just want to bring up the idea to be able to swap gears and builds when you swap your weapons. At the moment, all the classes have two specialisations and two different weapons linked to them. Imagine how cool it would be when you would be able to e.g. as a necro switch from a tanky reaper build wielding a greatsword to your scepter/torch scourge setup and that also your gear would be adjusted to a condi build! What do you guys think about it?

Build templates have been asked for since the game released and so far anet have said that they would like to implement it but havent figured out a way to do it as of this moment.

It would be wonderful if we could do that. As has been pointed out though people have been asking for it for years.

 

I suspect they will do it the day after I finally start salvaging extra gear in my bags so I can get the space back.

If I recall correctly, I (among others) first started asking about this after the first (public) BETA tests.

Will +1 any of these threads as the feature is needed.

Ppl are using 3rd party programs to switch builds and I'm not going to name any of them or talk about them at all. But, the more ppl use those programs the less ANet is likely to implement the tech on their own. Pls don't use the 3rd party stuff and keep asking for this to be an ingame feature, thx.

I truly wish Anet would implement something like this. I would like to be able to swap between Berserker Power gear and Viper Condition gear, depending on where I am on the maps. But its frustrating to have to carry two sets of gear around with you just taking up bag space for something like this. I can swap out my stats on my legendary weapons easily enough, but not on my ascended armor that easily.

The thing is, because now we have an unique weapon for each of the two specialisations i think it would be rather easy to change the swap weapon button to a swap build button.. Or would that be too simple for me to see it this way? It could be Anet would have a real hard time verifying how this would affect the game overall but it would give the players so much freedom, it almost feels like a waste not to implement this.
