Devs lets talk WxP

Players give 60 Base exp max. Even with all buffs, it will never reach 250. The 250 wxp is from a liquid drop of wxp.

And I have never seen a 20v20 or 40v40 or 50+v50v take 15minutes.

 

So please, spare us the hyperbole. Most fights are over in less time than it takes to take down a t3 gate.

while you're correct, sometimes battles do take over 15 minutes, i have spent upwards of an hour possibly more defending SMC

today i spent about half an hour to 50mins taking SMC and then 15 mins taking ogrewatch and then 10 more mins defending durios

 

wxp rate does seem to reward poorly for player fights, rng loot is worse though

yes, a defense chain of a keep or sm can take ages, not too long ago, I defended SM for 3h straight. But the individual battles (group comes, group is defeated, next group comes in) were short.

 

I am fine with the current amount of wxp. I am not too happy with the rewards/loot on the other hand. It isn't 'fair' that fractals and raids, which are all 'memorize mechanic and or put the right keycombo on a macro key' kind of play, are so much better rewarded. And dont get me started on pvp.

This would explain why some players I kill when roaming are worth tonnes while the zerglings I pick off at spawns are worth next to nothing.

Its almost as if WvW is about taking objective on the map, and not about kill farming everything......... but thats just crazy talk.

You are missing an important category, farm enemy seige, the WvW xp just flows or if you are lucky and own red keep in EBG, just keep trebbing an enemy that keeps repairing those SMC walls... /s

 

WXP is an outdated progression mechanic. PIPs should have been combined with WXP progression in addition to all the other WXP sources for taking and killing (giving additional WXP for the winning team, the outnumbered bonus, the commander bonus, etc. on the 5-minute timer). Reward tracks already throttle the real WvW rewards so giving a floating blue + 2 greens chest and a WvW rank where you need hundreds/thousands of ranks to see a minimal PIP bonus or a new WvW title is already hardly an incentive-to-play WvW system.

 

Fundamentally, WXP is not the problem, it's the WvW incentive-to-play the game mode (over PvE and sPvP) that's broke. WXP is just an old mechanic left to rot.
