  1. I wa critical of Kourna back in the day and I am still critical of it today. It is boring, the grinding was extremely unpleasant and the few good things (npc chatter in village, the water part, Joko's uncut speech) were utterly drowned out by all the boredom and unfinished feel. Istan on the other hand I loved back then and if I had to choose between those two it wouldn't even take a second. Istan pls.

You basically get to do the whole character creation window again there. It's sad that GW2 does not allow us to customize without paying premium. but WoW charges you a fat transcription fee, while transmutation charges are easy and fast to earn in game.
  3. but why not asura as food? They are not exactly sentient (being out-thought by skritt all the time and we all know how dumb those are).
  4. I switched from a 2700 to a 5600, with pretty high graphic settings (except no AA, reflections sky+terrain, low models) and had a 20% performance increase. Even in wvw 3 way blobs I dont drop below 30fps anymore. GPU is old. A 460. Ram is 3200 ECC.

What is ArenaNet doing about it? You can't live forever on a thin line and false hopes that OpenGL will last forever. Good luck with that. Game development was never meant to be an easy job. good thing than that ANET did not make use of OpenGL on windows.

Yes, it was running macos. Yes it was pretty. It was expensive. It was less capable than my home desktop and I ran into a lot of quirks that would have been easy to solve on a linux box. b) I really recommend Apple fanbois to search for Rossman's repair videos on youtube. Macbooks are are really badly designed. Pretty one the outside, cheap on the inside.

  8. so it is anet's fault that APPLE gave up on an industry standard (opengl) and decided to introduce a homebrewn cpu (to make more money and don't have to share with others)? Get a grib on reality. Apple sells overprized low quality junk. If you bought it, ask yourself about the wisdom of your decision.

You will unlock bitterfrost frontieer. Farm winterberries, you should get about 70 per character per day if you do hearts + chests. More characters helps here, and the farm is fairly quick with mounts. Use the winterberries to buy accessories. > > > > Ring, Backpack, Amulet (unique, any stat): I recommend bloodstone from lws3 ep 1 since they're stat swappable, but takes FOREVER to farm. But, in general, lw is just great for farming at least one type of ascended accessory. PvP also has realistically obtainable stat swappable accessories if you want to casually dab into the ranked season for lols. > > > > Backpack: Lots of achievements give one. My personal favourite are the PoF banner support achievements. If you're stuck on what to go for, pick ad infinitum - it'll take you through the steps to make a beta infused backpack with 2 infusion slots you can keep. > > > > Weapons: Elite spec weapons are probably the easiest to obtain off the top of my head. If they're the wrong stat, throw them in the mystic toilet with the exotic inscription of choice. Caladbolg is also a fun miniquest and a nice send off to traehearne, and can take the form of a gs, sword, scepter, shield or dagger. > > > > Armour: pvp is an option, but realistically just throw money at the problem. Use gw2 crafts to get 450 tailor (light), leatherworking (medium) or armoursmithing (heavy). Begin making your daily materials. In the meantime, you can get exotic stat swappable armour from verdant brink (bladed armour) or berserkers from the cathedral of silence in cursed shore. > > Thanks, but I still do not see how all these are more easily achievable (in terms of time/gold cost) than exotics :/ backpacks from Siren's Landing. A couple of pearls. A handfull of karma. Done.

  11. its the new backpacks. You have one of those in your view? Your fps drops by 5.

  13. tried to download the installer today -it downloaded with a whooping 1kB/s... Something fishy was going on on the amazon side of things.

Alsa has dmix on by default, which takes care of several sources. To this day I have not understood why distros insist on forcing this quality destroying, problem creating mess down everyones throat.

I banned pulse from my system. Max quality settings in gw2, listening to spotify, youtube, discord, vlc.. no audio problems ever. Just say with me: audio daemons are evil and utterly useless for 90% of the userbase. (since discord hard depends on pulseaudio - so stupid - I use the apulse wrapper with it. Works.)

  17. stay on tag. place keyboard so you drop your face on it comfortably roll face left and right you win.

Coms complaining, squadmates complaining, mapchat complaining... dragonbanner was BAD. It was a huge power multiplier for the already winning side. Would have been better to just remove them. But the restriction is good enough for me.

Masteries are a game mechanic what is the point of the game if everything can be bought with money. It is also in the name Mastery as in mastering the game, like become better at the game. > > > > > > > > > > I am not talking about purchasing the points and them giving u free exp just the points themselves > > I am also talking about the mastery points, they are given for completing an achievement they are basically reward for finishing a quest. > > > https://en-forum.guildwars2.com/categories/guild-wars-2-discussion > but some people like myself do not want to do all those things to get them. It does not mean they should remove them for those who do though then you don't deserve/need the mastery. So what again is your problem? do you need all the masteries for hanging around in LA or doing boss trains? No? Next 'put all legendaries in gemstore'. Bad ideas just bubble up everywhere. Besides, there are MUCH more mastery points in game than you need. Don't want to do a certain achievement? Fine, you got lots of alternatives.

  21. I am in a wvw guild that requires me to rep when we are doing guild raids. The rest of the time I can rep whatever I want. The reason is to show the opposite guilds that yes we are indeed a one guild group and not a semi-public squad. It gives scrims and gvg validity. There is a small psychological aspect. When your server is defending something and 20 people with the same tag show up everyone feels better. You know those 20 will be organized and can be rallied around. Also allied guilds know who you are, what to expect etc, which makes coordinated stuff easier. If the other squad has 20 people and 10 different tags - well, you dont expect much. Are they tight? Do their support know what to do? Sure, you could look at the players - after a while you know the skill levels of the regular players on you server - but that costs time. In PVE repping a guild shows the other guild members where you are, without the need to check members list. If you log in and everyone is around a certain point, you know instantly that something is going on. It also 'feels' good to run into people with the same tag.
  22. oh yes, I man a easy class like warrior should be tanky AND high sustain AND high dps. *eyeroll*
