Exotic Triumphant Hero's armor

I accidentally purchased the Exotic version instead of the ascended version. Can I upgrade the exotic to ascended or is it just garbage now?

There is no way to upgrade it. It might be worth contacting support, as they usually give you currency back on such a mistake, but they are very backed up and such a minor issue would perhaps not yield an answer for at least 3 weeks. You're better off playng and getting the tickets back that way. Good luck

you can get the t3 armor now and turn that into a legy as the exotic t2 unlocks the purchase of the t3 set...

the first set is exo, the t2 and t3 are both asc

T2 exo set also exists. Thats what OP bought. And it cant be upgraded to legendary or ascended. The only reason to get T2 exotic is to skip making the grandmaster marks and get T3 ascended.

You need to put in a support ticket. I did the same thing and CS helped me. It may take 3-4 days to get it fixed. Make sure you have the Marks also for the purchase.

Ah, I just count the ones from the skirmish vendor as t1 and don't count the reward track as t1.
