Lab farm Guide/Build/Rotation for 850+ Trick or Treat bags per hour! Enjoy!

Recommended Posts

Players can get tags on every mob outside of a squad all the time if they run a DPS build. I had no issues getting tags on everything when I used to farm lab.

A commander has zero claim on all of the doors. If someone decides to solo a door then they’re well in their right. Thinking otherwise just reminds me of the Queensdale champ train.

I like using my valkyrie build neco with staff for farming along with torch for locusts and speed. Wells are also good for targeting a bunch. Don't know if its the most efficient, but I can take boss hits to the face and don't go down. It's a good thing to have when Steve shows up behind you with a chainsaw...

Presumably PvE tagging functions the same as WvW tagging, which means its incredibly easy to cheat your system of "shunned" players. Bring a healer/support. It lowers the tag threshhold so you only need to tap mobs, as long as you've healed the players getting the tag you get it too.

I run it on my magi blood scourge and dont care about the squad, lazily flailing with double daggers (the staff is on some other character I forgot lol) and using the shade mostly to tag and still get 350+ bags an hour. Not hardcore farming (I get bored after just 20m and have to push myself for 1h) but meh it works fine.

The lab as always is fun. If you make a job of it then something has gone a miss. A lot of peeps don't get, fire and tab. That said another idea versus telling peeps to remove trinkets is switch trinkets off of zerk to something so that they need revived less. Would love to see the numbers from Anet on how many peeps drop to Steve. Now if we could get back daily reviver or a small karma boost for revives it would be all the better. This holiday is a blast and only regrets is that it runs only 3 vs 4 weeks. And the banter between the king and prince, just fun, hats off to both voice actors.

Last clip only shows your build and MF. and you said in the clip you did average 750 ToT bags with +700%MF over the course of 10 hours. ( in the video description )

edit- yet in this post you said you did get +850 bags / hour which is 100 more than the video is tellin

Last clip shows 2m remaining on a 2h item booster with 1500 bags in the inventory. Be kinda dumb to waste an item booster if I had bought the bags instead of farming them? Though I guess people are prone to bullshit like that, so the only real method to show you guys would be to stream a lab farm

I've given a little thought to the "take off your trinkets" thing, and it would seem to only work if EVERYBODY does it.

Further, I don't get any different results when I'm in a squad or not. I get less if I follow the rules. So, I'm calling the whole lawyered-up squad thing bunk.

If I'm in a squad, I follow the rules. But, none have ever said "no trinkets". (And, I will immediately leave if one ever does. I'm playing for ME, not some commune of players.)

There's literally no difference in personal bags with and without trinkets. With trinkets on though, only the first 5 people to hit a mob get loot. So really, you're just saying 'I'm going to be a quaggan and fuck everyone else, to no personal gain'

830 bags in 1h, with slow door times due to a lot of uplevels. so 830 in a non ideal run to show that you don't need perfect conditions to get 800+

No, not that. I'm too slow to stay in the front getting the loot.

What I'm saying is that the theory is crap, because A: there's no way to enforce it, and B: it's in every player's self-interest to let OTHER people do it, but to personally choose to NOT do it.

It's a very similar problem to the one communism and socialism have as economic philosophies: they only work if everybody lives to the ideal. But, human nature gets in the way, because there will always be people who will abuse the others' good will.

You can't control other players, but you can ask them nicely

If no one plays along, only the first 5 people get loot. But if some of those people play along, you can extend that to 10+ people. By just asking politely, you have the potential to increase squad loot overall. Which is why it's worth mentioning.

And if the squad sucks, like one I had last night, I just tag down and change maps. Start over and hope for a better group

And you feel the need to prove yourself why? People can either take your advice or not - it shouldn't matter to you. After reading your thread, I made some changes and as a result, I'm earning more bags than before. I'm not earning as many as you, but I've also not configured everything the same way, nor am I playing the Lab as long; I also don't really care. I'm getting more bags now than I was before I read your thread. Full stop.
