Cantha hasn't been in contact with us for hundreds of years, who knows what lives there, maybe tengu or naga took over the place... and we get a new playable race with the new expansion too, Charr themed story dont need a whole expansion to develop, their maps/athetics is already there, just need more development in the future, a new expansion with industrial/badland style that we already seen for years wont be that exciting. Tengu were all forced out of Cantha, and now live in the Dominion of Winds... All non-humans were forced out. It's more human-centric than Elona became. I would disagree with the claim that other races don't need whole expansions. I mean, the basis of your argument exists with humans too. Besides, that "industrial/badland" style is the style of the Iron Legion, and their territory is just Ascalon. Going into other charr territories would be new aesthetics be it Blood or Ash lands. And new playable race with a Cantha expansion? Why? Besides the fact that there are no non-human sapient races in Cantha per the lore, neither previous expansion gave us a new playable race, so why would Cantha's? Quite a few people have been wanting a return to the northern Blood Legion Homelands, as well as venturing out eastward of the Blazeridge Mountains into never-before-seen territory. Industrialization is almost all from the Iron Legion. Blood and Ash legions are bound to have different aesthetics if ArenaNet were to develop them beyond simple tents. Really depends on how today's living world release ends.. and where the story direction is gonna go. Kodama.6453 Posted January 8, 2019 Share Posted January 8, 2019 I really hope that the next expansion brings us back to Cantha. Played GW1 and Factions was absolutely the best, no competition. With the new steampunk thematics in the game, Kaineng could be absolutely awesome, considering that it already was a fairly advanced city for its time back then.
