New Warclaw requiring rank Gold or higher?

I was checking one of the discords that had several friends who have GMs in their guilds. They already correctly predicted the mount thing weeks ago and currently saying that the word is a rank of Gold or higher is needed to obtain it. What do you guys think of this?

Anet is doing this for a profit. I doubt they will exclude the majority of servers.

My guess is no to the Gold WVW to get it.

1395 rank is gold, not 3k...

 

I don't know if gold rank is really appropriate as it excludes a lot of players. Bronze would be more appropriate or perhaps silver on the high end.

If you need 3000+ rank, then it will be way out of reach of all but the diehards. Im a pver with rank 34 myself, I thought that was painful to reach, that is post farming 2x gift of battle.

It should be exclusive, make people work for it. That said, gold may be a bit high, perhaps silver would be all right.

More than that it would be discouraging for new players, and I'd rather lure some new players and have them stick around for a bit, maybe get into the mode for good, than them looking at the requirement and just giving up on it.

In order to get the warclaw mount you need to finish the hero weapon reward track and then purchase an ascended Mistforged weapon.

Then take this weapon to Eternal Battle Grounds and stand at the gates of Stonemist castle when your server owns it.

Now raise the sword high and yell "By the Power of Stonemist" and the mount will appear next to you.

I highly doubt it. If they are trying to find a way to monetize WvW, requiring such a high rank would not be a smart way of going about it. None of the incoming PvE players would be able to achieve this without significant long-term time investment. This is something they are going to make gemstore skins for, so they will most likely make it accessible to all for little investment. My guess is that it will be a WvW mastery just like war gliding.

My Guard already wields the Mistforged Hero Greatsword, so I guess I'm good. Just need to re-skin his chest piece to the Scallywag armor skin and I'm G2G.

 

I seriously doubt they will require a specific WvW rank, or if they do, that it would be one so high. That's just the WvW elitists trying to make themselves feel important.

 

Keep some perspective, the LEGENDARY backpack only required a rank of 350 :p

I wondered that too, but I think it will be more gated behind a rank minimum like Warbringer, and the top tier WvW legendary armor is.

 

Might split the difference between the two, as if they made it 2K like to Legendary armor, it will create a lot of QQ among those who do not like WvW.

 

Also, if it is gold rank or above, some servers will definitely have more than others. And with it providing a functional game ‘advantage’ it could lead to further disparity in the servers.

It was suppose to require a collection and one of the items has be purchased from the skirmisher merchant, and only unlocks once you hit the required rank (likely Gold I hear).

Locking it behind rank would be stupid since mounts have a functional purpose. Leave the rank requirements to cosmetic items.

I doubt rank xyz is achievable in 1 week of bonus wvw experience. The official announcement reads as follows:

It stands to reason that it is another track similar to how gliding required some ranks to be purchased.

 

Does this exclude the possibility of a minimum rank? No.

Gold rank seems interesting, i mean its a way to keep the people playing, because so far i been thinking the pve people will just get the mount at day 1 and never touch wvw again

the new mount for wvw is a wast of the devs resorces when thare is more inportint stuff they need to fix befor they add that type of stuff. Needing gold to get this mounts is like geting the custum wvw legendary armor with the 2.5k rank its just not worth it at all.
