FridgeRaider.3150
Heya! Not really sure where to suggest new things for the game, so I could be posting this in the wrong area, but I have an idea for a small way to enhance the Roleplay experience in GW2. It would be really neat if there was a looping emote, which stops when you start moving or use a skill, (like /dance, /sit, /crossarms, etc.), for each of the unique "Death" or "Defeat" animations, even commands to play the special animations when killed by "Fire Damage", "Ice Damage", "Lightning Damage", "Choking Damage", and more! Ideas for the emotes could be like: **/fakedeath** : Plays the default death animation for your character model. (i.e: based on normal, non-elemental attacks) **/burning** : Plays the "Burning" death animation for your character. **/frozen** : Plays your character's animation for freezing to death, normally from Ice-based attacks. **/shocked** : Plays your character model's respective "Electrocution" animation. **/choking** : Plays your character's animation for choking and gagging in agony. (normally inflicted by Earth-based, and dark attacks. Like I said, I could be posting this in the completely wrong category, but I'm fairly new to the Forums, and I don't know where to suggest ideas to the Developers. I would greatly appreciate any feedback that may guide me to the correct place to put this suggestion! Thanks!
Inculpatus cedo.9234
This would be the correct place. :) Unless, it was for the Gem Store, and then that would be in the pertinent Sticky (above).
FridgeRaider.3150
Ah, but since this is a non-Gemstore addition, i think I put this in the right place! Thanks, fellow player! :)
Leo G.4501
Great idea! So much fun could be had and all the assets are already there.
Batel.9206
Awesome idea! :D We could always use more emotes. An /injured emote could also be nice - it could either put players in the down-state animation, or mimic all those injured NPCs around the world (which looks rather similar to the down-state animation of dazedly sitting on the ground, listing to one side). And I'd love a /fakedeath emote. Trying to rely on the /sleep emote to get my characters to act like they're close to death is...not optimal. Who knew the male sylvari could snore that loudly? o_o
FridgeRaider.3150
Lol! So true. Sleep is not enough for the roleplaying community. Let's face it, Does anybody know anybody who snores when they're not alive? Yeeeahhh.. Kinda what I thought. xD
FridgeRaider.3150
I really don't know how to suggest this idea to the devs directly, but there is no reason that they shouldn't have this in the game. Leo is right about all the assets being in place, they just need to be integrated into a couple of chat commands, and boom! Roleplaying will be improved, and I'm sure lots of people will be very happy about not being stuck with a loud, and unfitting snoring sound, as they are roleplaying their injuries! FridgeRaider.3150
Does anybody else agree with me on this idea? I really hope we can get the devs to slide this in with the next update! :)
sorudo.9054
i do want some of the dead emotes be alive again, there are so many /emote commands from GW that never made it in GW2 yet are seen as active. (they just have nothing linked to them)
waaghals.6124
If you have pof you can do it allready. Get on your bunny, hold space and before you jump use dismount key. Do it twice and you lay dead on the ground.
Dhemize.8649
I don't even RP but can see the potential of the /death emote. A whole blob of fake dead people, then somebody use (I assume the closest emote) /shrug to animate all the undead who basically just cancel /death to rise. Bonus points if he looks like frozen Darth Maul out to beat up a crippled boy.

Endless Soul.5178
I'll always want more emotes. I'll never understand why Guild Wars had so many emotes that never made it into Guild Wars 2. Air Guitar anyone?
FridgeRaider.3150
Dear Arena-Net, I, and a whole bunch of other players would really like for this addition to make it into Guild Wars 2. Unfortunately, I don't really know of a way to push this idea to the developers. I really do hope for an Arena-Net developer's opinion on this subject. Personally, I don't really see why this hasn't been added into the game yet. All the animations are there; All that's left are just a couple of simple "/commands" linked to the animations, and with that minor action, Arena-Net will have resurrected the slowly wilting "Role-playing" community! Thanks as always, James Carl McDonald (A.K.A: "Fridge Raider") P.S: This game never ceases to be awesome. The graphics, the combat, Pretty much the everything; It's all just so pristine... Even the moments where you're not on the battlefield, the environments are absolutely stunning, and each time you pass by a location, you'll always be discovering something that you've never noticed before. The beautiful locales are also prime spots for role-playing, as well! Keep up the good work, Arena-Net! :D
joneirikb.7506
Just to point out that there might be other considerations. FF14 for example removed the "sleep" emote from the game sometime in the past, because people when using to to ERP, and post pictures on the net about it. Certainly hope that hasn't been a problem for GW2, but just saying there can be other reasons for what emotes they consider or not.
Rauderi.8706
New emotes. Hm, that could make interesting and unique rewards for doing content. ~~like how FFXIV does it~~
