Prophet of Flames.2783
Considering you need to consume a lot of food items (3000) to max out this title, will it update year round when you consume those particular items or only while the Dragon Bash is active? Does anyone know? Has Anet communicated about this?
Randulf.7614
None of us know and Anet hasn't said, but it seems likely it'll stop outside of DB and resume where it left off each year
maddoctor.2738
Judging by the other festivals, festival achievements are split into annual and regular ones. The annual achievements are available each year, while the regular achievements are a once-done deal. Since all festival achievements are removed from the API and no longer tracked once the festival is finished, we can assume, if the pattern follows, that this achievement will disappear and re-appear next year. Prophet of Flames.2783
But the Wintersday one stays open all year round (the drink one), is that merely because it's in a different achievement category?

Yes, they moved that to a diff category to track all year round due to to the amount of feedback threads on it and it being tied to a highly sought after item that people felt was too grindy for a 3 week festival. Pifil.5193
It's possible that they will move this to the same category as the wintersday drinks one once the festival ends, they really should, the wintersday drinks have no ingame effect but it's a terrible waste of _useful_ (ie stat boosting) food to just chug them down for an achievement. Ayakaru.6583
It's in the general festival achievement tab. That means 1. You can continue working on it next year 2. It won't be accessible inbetween festivals 3. It won't reset, ever

Specifically because it is required for the Winter's Presence shoulder skin and because (at the peak of complaints), drinks were running 8-10s for 10000 drinks (900g). (The price has since dropped for drinks, so it's closer to 100g for that achievement now.) In contrast, cheerful ingester is **not** _required_ to unlock a skin, requires only 3000 foods, and those foods are running at around 4s each (120g total)
