  1. Yeah, you can't change your race. This is because of the personal story being specific to each race, and transferring it would be...buggy. But, that's what alts are for, so you can just reroll and enjoy it all over again as a Charr or whatever you want. For what it's worth (not much maybe), I think norn are probably the best race for Revenant from a lore standpoint since they are the traditional guardians of the Mists, and invoking legendary figures of the past seems like a nornish thing to do, even though they don't have a norn legend in the class skills. I made a Charr Rev. and honestly the story is kinda wonky because the personal story happens before Rytlock reveals the revenant abilities to the Charr (because he is just a normal warrior back then), where the norn are probally just like, "yeah...we've been doing this for generations, what's the big deal? Go talk to Havroun Harry over there." haha.

Oh that's good to know! I didn't know there was a ban list that automatically blocked the reuse of such names. I just imagined that if this wasn't the case, then it would give a whole new meaning to "Guild Wars" haha.
  4. Could you imagine if someone reported a guild name as offensive so that they could steal said guild name. How crazy would that be? As others have said, if they violate the naming conventions of Anet just report the player name and it is likely they will look at the guild and pet names as well.
  5. Same thing happened with me. I think it is okay. I just paid the money to unlock all of them. I think I waited for a sale 35% off or something, I can't remember exactly. Completely worth it in terms of value.I like that as a dedicated player we can get some paid content for free, but it dues give a sucky feeling for those who come late or have returned after a long time. However, I do think this is confusing for people who pay for the expansions (PoF) and then realize they have huge gaps of content between their expansions which then they have to pay for again. I understand this may give a bad taste in the mouth. Honestly, Anet should just bundle all released living worlds (or at least pre-PoF) into an expansion purchase option, like a "Complete Deluxe Package" that also gets discounted 35% during expansion sales, like when they do the 50% off sales. It would make it clear that when you buy the normal expansions those Living World episodes are not included, and people could see how much the complete game would cost them. I little more transparency would make people feel less "cheated" when they realize reality is different than their easily made assumption. I hope when the release EoD they do something like this. Release (even if just limited time) a $120 bundle or whatever that includes EVERYTHING for new and long-ago players.
  6. I would like there to be norn-only spirit of the wild combat tonics. The closest thing to fighting like a bear and still be viable is the Kodan tonic, which everyone can do anyway. I want my cultural identity back! lol.
  7. Is jotun fire magic Primordus magic? No. Is Primordus and joton magic fire elemental magic? Yes. Same magic, different wielder.
  8. Races in GW2 don't add anything meaningful to gameplay. There is actually no reason to add a new playable race except for cosmetic variety. Cosmetics can be dealt with through combat tonics. Lore is VERY welcome, but you don't have to be a player character to experience it, and actually I think it is just a convoluted way for world building, which I wouldn't recommend. I too thought tengu would be cool as a playable race, but the more I think about it, the more I realize it will do almost nothing for the game. I'd rather see a transformation battle system implemented or something where you could just transform into a tengu (or quaggan, whatever) as like an alter-ego and adopt a different playing style or something for a limited time. I'd prefer us to get a "tengu tonic" that lets us infiltrate the Dominion of the Four Winds and have a "new recruit" experience without actually making a new playable race and trying to integrate that into the game and lore.
  9. I would actually like the warclaw to possibly be a two seater mount. If you sit in the second seat you get an special attack skill with 3 loads of ammo, and can throw spears. If the mount is hit, the second passenger "falls off". Both in WvW and PvE would be pretty sweet. But alas, I imagine 2 large norn males crushing the poor kitty. lol If flying mounts allow for two-seats, I think they have to give some kind of stamina bar to reduce flight effectiveness, since I am sure this would result in an in-game version of Uber Taxi to reach hard to get to locations by foot.
  10. I would like warrior to get an assassin-like elite profession. Shadow Warrior or something. I guess in that case, then a focus would probably be the new weapon. But having stealth and traps would be pretty fun and be very different from the current choices. For the elite spec unlock weapon they can make the focus look like some kind of fist weapon/claw, etc. I kinda gave up on land spears. lol Although it would be interesting for Anet to introduce amphibious elite specs.
  11. The economic model, or rather psychological model, is likely the same as login rewards. If players get something for logging in, something free, they are more likely to log in. If they are more likely to log in, they are a bit more likely to play, or at least not forget about the game. They are also more likely to browse the gemstore. LW seasons are basically "customer loyalty rewards" which you can see in many other industries as well with point card programs, etc. It is also the same play on human psychology that many social media apps use (e.g., "You were tagged in a photo.") to make you open the app and use it.
  12. Was Kralkatorrik male? Yes. Aurine calls him grandfather. He also laid an egg...because Glint. Jormag seems masculine. But I am sure he can lay eggs too. Just like any dragon I guess. I agree with others that he should have just been called he, or even it. The "they" thing just feels like a try-hard move in instances where it is forced and unnatural.

Once you bought it, that’s it. That was the game. But now, people want to pay to “finish” a game? Why? Is this what Angry Birds and Candy Crush (I never played those, so don’t really know) has done to the game market? Something is too hard, oh nothing a few dollars can’t fix? It’s even worse when it’s a multiplayer game. Imagine if you could just buy a Skyscale for 5000 gems. No, just no. GW2 is not Gold Wars 2. > > Problem with that is this game is constantly changing. > Problem? I don't think so. It's called content. That's the nature of an MMO. That wasn't the point. I was making the point about paying to finish a game. I am completely fine with dropping money on expansions and even living world episodes because the expectation is that there are things to do, places to go, and non-player people to meet. I'm even okay with dropping a bit of money on a cosmetic for some design fun. I am so-so alright, with buying unbreakable tools, character slots and lounge passes, but I don't need to buy them because I can do much of the same by getting breakable tools in-game, "freeing up" a standard character slot, or porting to a city to do my in-game errands. But honestly, that is really REALLY pushing the limit in my opinion, and only accept it because there is no subscription fees. But paying for the reward for completing in game achievements/content? That's just a whole new level, and so obviously pay-to-win that it hurts. There are plenty of games out there, and if that is the playstyle you like I recommend going to one of those hundreds of titles, but I pray to the 5 (formally known as the 6) that such practices never reveal their ugly head in Guild Wars 2 anymore than they already are. I am also guessing this is why you have many here opposed to your suggestion. Your other comments I feel have been responded to adequately by posters above. Edit: Your suggestion about somehow trading Tombs of Knowledge (since they are an in-game only item) for mastery points is something that I could possibly get onboard with. But I think it would have to be something steep like 100 Tomes of Knowledge for a Mastery Point. There is definitely a risk damaging some content that offers mastery points, especially the Core Tyria points. How many extra players do you think would be joining Triple Trouble, for example? Somehow I feel devs designed how good masteries are based on how easy it is to get the mastery points for that expansion, etc, and a trade system may really make things unbalanced, especially in future expansions. Personally, I already think the whole mastery system is becoming more and more trivialized as it is, making masteries worth less with either pay-to-win mechanics or "throw away masteries" relevant to very limited content is no good in my opinion.
  14. Higher resolution textures (older content) would be nice. But, I think the game actually still looks great. I wish the performance was better. If FPS could be improved by 30% that’d be pretty nice.
  15. I must be getting old. I remember when people payed to get access, a floppy disk, a CD, a license key, etc. etc. and play a game. Once you bought it, that’s it. That was the game. 17. > @"Ameepa.6793" said: > I would simply walk into cantha One does not simply walk into Cantha. But in all seriousness, I think we should access it from the underground. Dredge tunnels from Sorrow's Furnace/Shiverpeaks to Echovald Forest. Would make sense with the recent Primordus stuff. If Cantha didn't want outsiders coming to their shores, I'm pretty sure they would blast ships out of sea and sky. But considering that the Aetherblades are likely to be involved somehow with hints dropped in the trailer, I am going to guess that Anet chooses we go there by airship (like how we went to the desert in PoF) because it has been done and it is easy. Going by sea could introduce us to the sea dragon as well, although why would we suddenly decide to sail across the ocean unless Cantha formally invites us? I think all are viable given the lore, but I definitely think some kind of underground transport system cooked up by the Dredge would be the most interesting, since we have not seen this kind of transport method in game yet. Who knows, maybe the dredge that escaped to Cantha long ago have been in contact with the Tyrian tengu behind their walls, keeping tabs on the comes and goings of Cantha and secretly reporting to the tengu. A secret tengu-dredge alliance. Sure, why not?
  18. ↑ Don't worry though, I hear the next expansion is the End of Drag-ons!
  19. Can you believe we've been dealing with Elder Dragons for more than 8 years? Yeah, it does seem to drag-on a bit.
  20. Honestly I just want them to change 100 blades that has a shorter cast/channel (1-2 second(s)) and/or doesn't root me in place. But we've been asking for that for a long time. It's even worse insult to injury that everyone and their auntie can now wield a GS as well. I seriously think just re-working this one skill would be the biggest game changer for a warrior. This game has active combat and warrior is a close range class. Like seriously, root the melee class on their highest normal dps skill? I wouldn't even care if they removed the final strike damage of the skill. Just have the skill hit twice in rapid succession and recharge "Rush" to allow warriors to bounce to a new target, pursue or escape. I would love to see the warrior pick off enemies from larger groups with Bladetrail > Rush > 100 blades (improved) > continue attacks, Whirlwind, weapon swap, etc. (optional) > Rush (away or pursue). It seems like Anet tried making a DPS/mobility line for the warrior with traits like forceful greatsword and that other GS weapon skills, but 100 blades really is the odd man out. Change "Repeatedly strike multiple foes. The last strike does extra damage." to "Strike multiple foes in quick succession. Recharges Rush." Of course there are tons of other things that should be reconsidered with CC. But again, I think100 blades would indeed make the warrior a bit more feared that he may actually wreck you if you meet him face to face on the battlefield.
  21. Sure. Makes sense to me. Braham, all all norn, really hate Jormag. Maybe Braham isn't corrupted, but instead chooses to become the fire dragon's "champion" or rather borrow his power to wield the power of fire and destruction to defeat Jormag. Primordus is the only other elder dragon known to have actually attacked another elder dragon (Jormag in Drizzlewood Coast). There may be more to the feud between dragons than meets the eye.

Stop this. Braham doesn't have to express his opinions about everything by whining like a child. He's no longer one. > Takes like 4 different parties to tell Braham to focus on the threat at hand for him to kitten about Jormag for 2 steps of the quest and HE BACK AT IT. Don't worry. He'll probably be...fired. Hahaha!
