  1. Honestly, do I wish this game has the player count that lets say WoW had at it's peak? Obviously that would be great. I just disagree that Twitch is going to be the great breakthrough discovery that suddenly "saves" gw2. And this whole discussion started with someone breaking actual forum rules and posting the exact same discussion that already exists several times on page one, and despite accusations of to the otherwise, pointing that out is not trolling.

If you don't want people to disagree with you, then a public forum is probably not the place to post topics. If you just want people to agree with what you say and do exactly what you want, this isn't going to be the place.

No vitriol against streamers here. If you want to watch gw2 on twitch, no one is stopping you. You asked a question, you got an answer, people don't want it. However, to claim that just because they don't immediately agree with what you want, they're clearly ignorant and don't understand is, quite frankly, insulting.

This is how life works. I want to go see the Eiffel tower in France, but I have to pay for a flight over just to see it when people born in France get to see it for free every day. I mean literally pick anything on earth. Some people are near it, others are not. It's insane to act like the world has done you a great disservice because something is happening in a place not near you.

    >

    > I think thats a bit different, Those tshirts are usually for sale and the lucky few who get them get them for free. Theres really no idea behind this if its going to be available to buy or not at all, and thats my issue. If its only given out during the stream, and never sold? Why? Its a digital item, they could send one to -everyone- and not even be impacted.

And now its no longer a special limited edition item. Now its just a common item that everyone gets simply because they logged in one day. God forbid the game have limited edition items in it.

I don't get the chance to go to every baseball game. I don't get the chance to do a lot of things in life. Its life.

    > On the topic, the point is not liking/disliking something but the fact that these weapon designs are lacklustre "upgrades" of existing Hero weapons and other skins. If you compare these weapons to Gem store or even pve skins that get released once in a while, it's easy to see the serious amount of effort spent on the latter.

Like I said it takes time to understand. Some people don't like the overblown effects on many weapons presented in the gemstore. Some people prefer a simplistic and elegant design. Personally I like a little of both. Sometimes I like the massive flaming greatsword and its many bright effects. Sometimes I think a simpler design with intricate small details looks good too. I understand that just because I like something, doesn't mean every other human being on earth also likes it. I also definitely understand that a lack of massive flaming effects on a weapon, does not equate to less effort. If you really sit down for half a second and think about it, you'll understand that its actually more effort to create an entire arsenal of simple elegant weapons, than it is to make one flaming greatsword. I also don't get upset and make a tantrum in the forums every time a weapon set comes out that doesn't personally suit my exact, specific tastes.

  8. As a person becomes an adult and gathers knowledge and understanding of the world around them, they come to understand some truths in life that often escape young inexperienced and unknowledgeable people. It's not the fault of these children honestly, experiences happen over time and through these life experiences, deeper understanding of the world takes place. One of these simple truths in life, that any functioning adult can tell you, is that what one person likes, another person may not like. I'll make it very easy to understand. Some people like hamburgers, some people like hot dogs, and there are even some people who like a salad. Some day you too will come to understand that there are many different kinds of people in this world with many different tastes. You'll get there sport.

So since it's been made clear that glider skins are only acquired through the gemstore, and there has never existed a back piece acquired through the game with an associated glider skin, I doubt they would be able to do this. It would have to be sold in the gemstore, and the people with the back piece would inevitably complain.

Just so I understand, your argument is that legendary backpieces are suddenly the same thing as two back pieces you can obtain in one day with about two hours worth of work? Your argument is extremely obtuse and good luck convincing ANet of it.

  10. Every glider skin in the game is acquired through the gemstore. This would not be an exception. Also any back piece that has an associated glider with it is also only sold through the gemstore. So since it's been made clear that glider skins are only acquired through the gemstore, and there has never existed a back piece acquired through the game with an associated glider skin, I doubt they would be able to do this. 11. You're not gonna see as many Mesmer's knockback waves because it has a short range. Much shorter than the 1200 range of the rest of Mesmer GS attacks. So while they're all standing at a distance it wont hit so they wont use it. Give the wave a 1200 range and Ill bet you anything you start seeing a bunch of mesmers hitting it on CD because it hits at the range they're standing at now.

    >

    > Um... OK... Who’s dictating what?

While the OP did in fact ask for an toggle option, many follow up posters began expressing that their similar annoyances with the skyscale be answered by suggesting that players not be allowed to use the skyscale in their presence at all. Also your example isn't what's happening in real life at all. These people aren't specifically following around these individual players with the express purpose of taking up their screen with their skyscale and demanding their invidual attention as you've clearly implied. They're just following the group content currently being played. As Gop stated above "certain portion of players have become toxic bc the new mount has annoyed them to the point that they have come to the erroneous conclusion that ppl are using the mount specifically and intentionally to annoy them . . ." You seem to be one of the players coming to this erroneous conclusion.

    > Just why do people on their skyscale stays immobile, flapping their wings over 1 inche off the groud? I don't care if you're high up in the sky (still, subjectively speaking, I find the sole point of hovering to be perfectly imbecile, but ok) but why hovering so close to the ground? There is objectively no reason to do it other than "looooook at meeeeee!!!!"

Why do people buy bright red cars? Why do people dye their hair? Why do people do any myriad of things that others take notice of? Does it matter? Why do you feel you have the right to tell them what they can and can't do with their mounts?

    > Your argument, couched as such, sounds reasonable, but it hinges on your subjective assumption that this is a minor inconvenience.

Right, and as the poster above you (Dreamy Lu) pointed out, everything is subjective. Literally every visual thing in this game is subjectively pleasing or displeasing to whoever is viewing it. Something you find displeasing, others don't. Something I find displeasing, brings great joy to others. The difference is I don't immediately request changes be made to the game because of the things I find visually displeasing because I understand that its completely subjective and others find these things likable. It's impossible for Arenanet to satisfy everyone's subjective likes and dislikes, so if they introduce something to the game such as the skyscale, then the intended consequence is that its going to be used. The same can be said of the various legendary skins or infusions. The selfish and entitled thing for me to do would be to demand changes be made to the game to suit my own personal preferences and tastes despite if others enjoy it or not, but I'm not the one doing that.

  15. So you want Arenanet to divert time and resources in ways that could involve massive changes to game code to accommodate your minor inconvenience? What about the next persons minor inconvenience? What about my minor inconveniences? Do you not see the problem with every single player demanding Arenanet do this or that for every minor inconvenience they have in the game? The argument is literally "I'm being forced to see things on my screen I don't want to see and I'm slightly upset about it, something needs to change" and you don't see how that makes this argument the entitled and selfish one as pointed out by yourself with the dictionary definitions?

    >

    > Lol well its all about perspective. I think it is clear.

It is all about perspective, but in this case people who are utilizing content provided by arenanet exactly as its intended ie "riding their mounts" aren't telling you what you can and can't do. However, in the reverse case, people are attempting to tell others what they can and can't do with the mounts provided to them by Arenanet due to some small inconvenience on their end. If Anet purposely put mounts in the game then why do you feel justified dictating to others when and where they can use their mounts?

1000%! I've seen so many threads of people trying to leverage a disability that there's no way to prove they even have to get anet to change the game for them. Based on these forums you'd think 1 out of every 2 people have diagnosed epilepsy even though its statistically 1.2% percent of the population.
