  1. A big problem with the living stories and really the plot of GW2 is how whiny and depressing many of the characters are. It's hard to enjoy the plot when you just want everyone to lighten up a bit.
  2. Would rather have new abilities from the current mounts instead of a new mount.
  3. Adding infusions/legendaries to the account wardrobe would be great. I ditched the first infusion I've ever gotten because it completely ruined the look of my character.
  4. I'm ready for a tengu race. Just have it squawk loudly for all the voice acting.

It's really unfair and unnecessary that of all classes ele has to continuously give up 10 stacks of might. Does this class really need a handicap of -250 power vs. everyone else? It's fair if Flame Expulsion was balanced by increasing its impact significantly. And an interesting ability. Just making it a might generation ability would be kind of boring. Right now the single layer of burning we get from it is overshadowed by the damage we lose on the other 20+ stacks of burning we're chucking at the mob. Meanwhile our allies don't even notice the sacrifice we're making for their benefit because they're already might-capped from the other hundred ways to gain might.

  8. I can't be the only one that would prefer EoD comes out with mechanics that effect all professions, like a sixth weapon skill vs adding new elite specs.
  9. My DPS isn't quite as high as Aliam's yet, but since switching to this spec I literally have not been out-damaged by a single elementalist in any open raid, fractal, strike mission or any other encounter. In open world zerg raids I almost never see another elementalist crack the top ten, but I'm almost always in the top 5 on any boss fight I do OK at. I don't really trust ArcDPS all that much, there are just too many instances where I don't believe some of the numbers it puts out but I figured I'd note that. > @"AliamRationem.5172" said: > It was 75% damage from burning in the Viper video. I'm thinking about getting into soloing some tough encounters, besides just redoing the fights you've posted videos of, are there any good fights you can recommend I try out?

If you were to put it in %, how much DPS would you gain and how much survivability lose ? Are you even able to solo champions the way you do ? > > I went ahead and recorded a new demo using grieving stats for comparison. For my build and playstyle at least, there is virtually no advantage to grieving vs. dire. As you can see, I'm pretty comfortable here. I'm not rotating to water to heal or kiting around to avoid damage. Just as in my Dire video I'm taking it to the boss the entire time. Given that, you'd expect to see at least somewhat better damage than the Dire set, but it just isn't reflected in the output. I deal about the same damage either way. > > > > It feels to me like the quest to get more damage out of power can only come at a cost in condition damage that doesn't really pay off. This is not a hybrid build. It works better if you choose one or the other, as far as I can tell. Edit: To be clear, I'm talking for solo play here. Obviously, you can look at SC and see Viper builds that deal a lot better damage, but I suspect that much of that is from additional condition damage and the power damage contribution is somewhat inflated by support. I've been wondering the same thing and am kind of surprised / disappointed you don't get much benefit. I wish you had the meters set up to show damage by source though! In Dire gear I know my damage is like, 95% burning, I'd be curious to see what it is in Dire vs Viper.
  11. As someone who doesn't raid, any content that requires a coordinated force and can only be done rarely (1/week) should definitely be better gold/hour than what you can do endlessly and mindlessly.

If we assume there is only 1 commander, this does not conflict with each player assuming his role when on their own (and it even works when being with multiple players in the instance since only the instance owner is addressed as commander in case of story content. Even going so far that in some dual scenarios say against the Manifestation of Self-Doubt in _One Path Ends_ not allowing other players to interfere in the fight) > - when taking on content on a larger scale, be it meta events, raids, dungeons, fractals, etc. we are part of the pact or individual unit and not the commander. > > This in essence mirrors the living world season 2 story where we in part play as Caith and relive her story. In a way, we are living the commanders story in the living world. > > I'm sure there are minor inconsistencies here and there, but overall this work rather well narrative wise. This is how i think of it and it fits nicely in most situations. In drizlewood coast story we are covertly raiding the heart of the frost citadel while the forces are engaging a front line assault. Outside of the story we are part of that front line assault.
