  1. Am i the only one who has all of his characters properly equipped for underwater combat? Looks like i am, reading this thread. I love underwater combat. It' one of the things that blew my mind about this game when i first started out back in 2014. It's a real shame that Anet decided to listen to the naysayers and basically removed it from the game. Any water area outside of core Tyria is only there for aesthetic purpose, because there is nothing to do in it. Makes one wonder why did they bother to revamp underwater combat a while ago if they didn't plan do bring back underwater content to the game. :/

I'm still hoping for an unending ocean expansion though. One can only hope. :p

  2. Yes, i expect she will come back because she has been the most important character in the game ever since we first heard about the existence of Glint's egg back in 2014. That is, five years ago. And after that we have been told again and again that Aurene is our only hope to save the world from the threat of the Elder Dragons (since it has been made very clear that we cannot simply kill them). So if she stays dead that would not only invalidate almost everything the Commander has done in the past five years, but also leaves us with no idea on how to save the world. Unless of course super Taimi suddenly creates an "Elder Dragon energy replacement machine" or something out of the blue, but that would be a horrible writing imo.

It would be game-breaking because you could then simply ascend high in the sky and travel from point A to point B while completely skipping anything (canyons, cliffs, mountains, rivers, mobs, ecc.) in between. Not only would it make traveling trivial, it would also make all other mounts completely useless. At least the Griffon has the limitation that you need to reach a high place first before you can glide down from it.

    >

    > It would not, as one would first have to work on specific things to be able to fly in X area, as I stated in my comment here.

    > Once one gets to know the area by working for these things, I see no harm in being able to actually fly and enjoy.

    > To be honest I really dislike how griffon flies and works, making it look clunky and like disabled when it flies or gets stuck in the cliffs while trying to climb and ascend.

    > And most mounts are already useless in comparison to griffon and raptor. I never mount my Skimmer and Springer unless in dire need to do so and that is absolutely rare.

    > I also never use the racing beetle unless I am in some extra hurry (which is almost never).

    >

    > The way I see it, it could only make the game experience more enjoyable. You already skip so many things with griffon and raptor, there's rarely any 'danger' to dismount you hard.

So instead of being broken right away it would become broken after a while? How does that change anything? Once you have completed those specific things you mentioned, you would still end up with a broken mount that makes every other mount totally useless. What's the point of having eight mounts in the game if just one of them is overwhelmingly superior to the other seven? New mounts/mechanics/content should never make old mounts/mechanics/content obsolete, imo. That's why i hope the new mount they announced will have restriction on it that would make it work alongside the Griffon instead of replacing it. As it should be.

I really hope not. It would be game-breaking because you could then simply ascend high in the sky and travel from point A to point B while completely skipping anything (canyons, cliffs, mountains, rivers, mobs, ecc.) in between. It is impossible to do this! There are no parties doing legendary bounties! please make elegy mosaic available through other means.

I wouldn't say impossible, but it sure takes too damn long. Expecially since (at least for me) Legendary Bounties only drop like 2-3 elegy mosaic x boss. You can get like 20 in one go if you are super lucky, but it seems like i only draw the short end of the stick. :/

I still need 200 elegy mosaics (and it took a LONG time to get the first 200) in order to get the Gift of the Rider, and even then i would have to farm Funerary Incense since i have like 8 and i need 250 of those too.

I wonder if i will be able to finish crafting the Shining Blade before the game dies....

And how exactly are you going to trap something that can open dimensional portals to travel back and forth between Thyria (the planet) and the Mists at will?

It doesn't look anything like Aurene though.

  8. I picked this as the "none of the above" options. Don't get me wrong, i DO like the idea of moar stability, but i don't think it's going to make much difference in WvW blob fights. I mean, there is so much CC in some of those fights that you will need at least 100 stacks of stability to actually defend yourself from all the pulls, fears, knockdowns, knockbacks, ecc. And that's assuming you already killed the enemy scourges, otherwise you will only be giving them extra boons to convert to conditions.

^ THIS. A lot of the complaints i've read are about how hard it is now to kill people that "don't want to fight" (even though condition builds can easily dismount someone since the warclaw has no condi cleanse whatsoever). Meaning, how hard it is to gank zerglings that are just moving from point A (Spawn) to point B (wherever their squad currently is) and don't want to stop to fight with gankers along the way (because they know they are going to lose since their characters have a build for zerg fights and not for 1v1 duels). Even though WvW is designed for large scale battles, some people play it like it's about small scale PvP skirmishes and complain because other players don't play along with them.

    >

    > Sir Alric please stop your eotm and OS nonsense, thank you very much.

Just because you refuse to consider an already existing solution to your request of "make a no mounts map", doesn't mean my suggestion is nonsense. It only mean that you don't like it. But ok, i get it, i'll say no more on this subject.

  11. I said this in another thread that appears to have been deleted, but there are already two no mounts (and no glider) maps available in the game. Edge of the Mists and Obsidian Sanctum. The no mounts brigade could actually play in those instead of just use them as waiting areas. It would revitalize what are otherwise pretty much dead maps, and give people who can't stand mounts or gliders (or both) a place to WvW in without being bothered by the yes mount army.

    > What kind of party are you trying to join? Maybe it's the players kicking you out of you don't satisfy their requirements.

No, i think he's talking about a quest in LWS2. The one where you have to exonerate Queen Jennah so she can attend the world summit at the Grove. It's been quite a while since last time i did that story step, but i remember that you must avoid being too pushy when you speak with the various nobles at the party, in order to keep the "suspicion" bar as low as possible. You can only start being direct when you confront Minister Estelle at the end. You probably fail because you arose too much suspicion before getting to confront Estelle.

  13. A lot of people make the mistake of boosting their very first character and end up in your situation, so this is a rather common iussue. The solution is:

Keep your boosted level 80 thief parked somewhere for now, and create a new level 1 thief so you can level it up the old fashioned way and gradually get accustomed with the various skills and mechanics of the game istead of getting overwhelmed by everything being thrown in your face all at once. The process can be tedious for some, but it is necessary when you are new to the game.

It wasn't that bad when i did it solo with my ranger (which means i wasn't actually solo since i had my pet with me). I was sniping those elites from max range with my longbow though. Didn't even try to fight melee.

    > I just bought a Prototype Position Rewinder in the Sandswept Isles for 175,000 karma + 75 Difluorite Crystals...as far as I can tell, this thing is a total rip-off! It allows you to mark your current position, then you can move some distance away and return to the previously marked position...you cannot teleport or interact with anything or your previously marked position will be erased! It's a scam to drain away your resources...**DON'T BUY IT!**

A scam? Nonsense! That is the best item ever sold by a heart vendor in the game. A personal portal that allow any class to use a mesmer portal whenever they need to. The only limitations this thing has is that you can't port other people with you and it only last 30 seconds. However with it you can:

    - Update your marked location on the fly at any moment by pressing 1 (You don't have to wait for the previously marked location to expire to set a new one like you have to with the mesmer portal).

    - Use it mid-air. You don't have to land somewhere safe first and then use the portal.

    - As long as it is within the 30 second timer, you can drop it, go back to your weapons skills (if you have to kill a mob or something for example) then equip it again and use the portal.

It's EXTREMELY useful for Jumping Puzzles, but can also be used for exploration and fetch quest (as other people mentioned).

I agree with you. I think that's pretty much the only solution that would make sense.
