    Dislike:

--People. The people who complain about small things that have already been fixed and over again, or things that will never be fixed because there are reasons that it isn't fixed (yet). Or, worse, the people who complain about things that are entirely their own fault, and will blame everyone else even after their problem is fixed. Or, even worse, the people who try to destroy the community or just don't care about it.

--Bugs. But I just post them on forums and forget about them. I know that they'll be fixed eventually.

    > I hate to be that guy but as a new player, I am unable to even finish the vanilla story chain, let a lone the new expansions. I bought all the new content, excited and ready to dive into it, found out all the content is designed for groups, but as a new player I can't find any groups or parties. I've been through four guilds and had to leave every single one because of toxic members and trolling. I really want to play this game but I'm sick of sitting around major cities, posting in map chat and getting ZERO response outside of people trolling me or heckling me for asking in map chat. This community is garbage, making this game not new player friendly. If anyone is lurking the forums to think about buying this game don't buy it unless you already know people playing. New players are not welcome here.

You are naming every problem that I thought to not exist in Tyria. Actually, I stayed in GW2 because a lot of these problems did not exist. However, I will respond seriously.

    1) The story chain is entirely soloable. I play as a thief, the most squishy-est, incapable-of-CC, prefers-to-avoid-combat class, and I had no trouble doing any casual PvE solo. Now, that being said, I of course cannot do hardcore PvE things solo, such as dungeons, fractals, raids, WvW, or even PvP because I'm just that bad at combat. But, the story? Easily soloable. And yes, I am entirely caught up from the first chapter to the most recent.

    2) What do you mean by groups? If you look for groups/parties for specific things, such as achievements or dungeons or farming, you'll find plenty of those. Even if you're looking for a party to do one specific thing, I've seen parties that are advertised as "helping with anything!" Especially this time of year. These groups are advertised in the LFG (Looking for Group) tab, default shortcut Y or accessible via one of the buttons on your top left corner. Even if you cannot find a ready party, you can make your own. And if that doesn't work, usually asking in guild or map chat will. Of course, it only works if you ask nicely.

    3) Everyone goes through a lot of guilds, but it almost seems like you're purposely joining the bad guilds. I personally avoid guilds that don't advertise a goal or specifics, guilds that aim to collect bar people, or guilds that encourage profanity. I also avoid guilds that are PvP, WvW, or hardcore gaming-oriented. Sticking to those rules, I have yet to find myself in any sort of toxic/trolling guild. I've left guilds solely because their members or guild goals/ways of organization did not fit my taste.

    4) I usually get answers to everything that I ask in map chat. Occasionally, I'll have to wait half an hour or switch maps before I get an answer. During those times, other players are usually engaged in a large-scale event such as a meta, or are just not in the same map instance as I am. Or possibly not even on the map at all. Like how everyone's currently in the new map. But I managed to put together a Champion Bounty party for the Vabbi map yesterday. It just took a little longer than usual. Patience is key. Not everyone looks at map chat or responds to it every minute.

    5) I'm usually only heckled or trolled when I ask a really stupid question, particularly if it's a question that has an easy answer, or when I say something offensive. However, even during those times, there will be that one person in map chat or whisper who actually answers my question. And even then, I don't find the trolls to be offensive. Don't take everything personally; people get tired and will take out their tiredness on others in map chat. Also don't ask or say things in an offensive or childish tone; that's only asking for trouble.

    6) New players are sought after. People will advertise guilds that are looking to recruit new members. People will advertise their guilds or their group or themselves to be helping new people, and to join their party if you want help. People will stop doing what they're doing if someone asks something newbie-ish in /say chat, and help that newbie. People will whisper those newbies that ask embarrassing things in /map chat, and help those poor embarrassed newbies. I truly do not know why you are only finding yourself in unfavorable situations, and firmly believe that it's because you already ask in a tone that suggests you demand help (rather than request it) and possibly insert offensive or inappropriate language into your demands.

  3. Edit: Fulfilled

    Original post:

After seeing my home instance cats for the gazillionth time, I finally realized why I really can't watch them for more than a few seconds at a time.

    THEY DON'T TALK.

What do I mean? Cats don't talk, right?

Yes, they do. They talk with their tails.

-> image of cat tail language since I cannot for the life of me figure out how to embed pictures: https://imgur.com/a/W8PPz

As you can see in the image, basically every cat in Tyria is stuck in "defensive aggression" pose. Or possibly the mime pose. AKA mute.

I want cats to "talk" a bit more. Wave the ends of their tails, lift their tails up. Even swish them back and forth. Anything. Just let them talk!

  4. I'm confused. I've had no problems finding a fallen brandstone. Usually it actually is marked on my map and minimap with a pink circle with a purple X in it. I didn't upgrade my scanner until yesterday, and only for the cheapest upgrade. I haven't had any problems excavating, although it has a few times disappeared before I could harvest it because I wasn't aware of it when it first fell. That doesn't bother me though, since it falls every 15-20 minutes and there are now LFG groups that are for brandstone multimaps. I don't use the multimaps but I feel like we could all easily harvest as many meteors as we wanted.

    > It's a biased survey as YES!!! is very much more emphasized than NO.

I'm not so sure that that would cause bias.

However, there aren't any middle grounds between yes and no and my answer would be "Yes, because who wouldn't want to use both a sniper rifle and be able to spam 5 on staff to crush anything that gets too close," but then there's the fact that it turns out that I don't like DeadEye at all, so even if I could use both DeadEye and DareDevil, I would still probably only use DareDevil...

  6. Edit: Actually, I'd buy a house. Log Horizon style.

Well since my gold want would be fulfilled, I would then stress about fulfilling my other-currencies want.

And assuming that ANet's generosity doesn't go public, I would also not tell anyone that I have infinite gold and keep all of my wealth to myself so as to avoid wrecking havoc ~.^

... too bad no one would love my plain old-fashioned leather Charr wardrobes that much...

  7. Raptor is the most convenient. Very fast and leaps far. Doesn't need a high area to get started. I mostly use the raptor even though I have the griffon now. Really I only use the griffon if I'm already up on a high point and don't feel like hurting my raptor with a long fall.

    Springer is only good for going up... and you can't even really go forward when going up ;.;

Skimmer is nice over water but it kinda freaks me out. That mouth...

Jackal is annoying. I don't like the jackal. It feels hard to maneuver. Jumps terribly. And it isn't even alive >.< it's made of energy! Will use only when I want to use a portal.

Griffon, like I said, needs a high point to get started. I don't normally jump off high points just for the purpose of using a griffon.

  8. Love the keychain. But I noticed that keys aren't really my problem since you're rewarded for using them immediately--my problem is Black Lion goodies such as the

    Instant Repair Canister

    Teleport to Friend

    Bank Access Express

    Trading Post Express

    Revive Orb

and etc. hogging up my inventory space. Black Lion boosters, celebration boosters, and boosters in general also can take up a lot of space.

Black Lion Utility & Booster Storage please?

Edit: I should mention that these utilities can be really useful, but since they take up so much space, I feel obligated to use them unnecessarily just to free up space faster. It kind of kills the utility feeling and makes them more into a complicated burden.

  9. I am thankful for how in the PvE world, there is no competition and nearly no reason to flame people for tagging a rare mob or etc. I rarely see any toxicity in the game, and this is the only game that I've enjoyed where that's true. The lack of competition and encouragement for teamwork has really fostered a great community here in Tyria.

I am thankful for how everything in the gemstore can technically be bought with gold, so that I don't feel like I am locked out of anything just because of my wallet.

I am thankful for how the devs are really top-notch, such that I am completely oblivious to any hackers, bots, or illegal trading.

I am thankful for how whenever I have a problem or a bug, either Support or the community help me out so that I really don't have that many complaints about the technical side of the game. And when I do, they're usually resolved within a reasonable amount of time.

And I am thankful for this game continuing to exist. Please continue to exist. I need at least one good computer game for my gaming moods.

    Thank you, ANet.
