  1. Core engi is not bad but just incredible hard to play compared to Holo and scrapper. Thats why engi had the lowest playerbase before pof. Condi engi is still quite strong, sometimes even better than condi holo due to higher confusion stacks. Power core engi might be on par with power warrior. not sure about that. As core engi you really need to use the kits though. For power thats the elixir gun acid cancel and lots of blast finishers into your firebomb. Condi is constantly swapping kits. It still works and especially condi does a ton of dmg solo but compared to holo it is easily 3 times the effort for same results.

Either the wiki or the editor is wrong then. I would say its the editor. And like i wrote earlier danger time does work just like a modifier which only affects crits. I mean there is a reason why chrono has an almost 43k bench. Absurd modifiers.

  5. > @"Asgaeroth.6427" said: > You're looking at it backwards in my opinion. The core design may have problems, but they are not insurmountable. I am not an inexperienced raider. I cleared every heroic raid in WoW as main tank while it was the current raid from Wrath to the end of Pandaria. The problem is GW2 raids are not tuned around the game design, they are tuned around arbitrary checks that make no sense for the majority of players. > > All of GW2's best mechanics, best art, best everything is in these raids. We as customers paid them to make all these advanced assets and they are just wallowing in nothingness. I love the GW2 raids, they are in many places masterworks in the industry. They are just sadly locked behind the worst of GW2, the clunky grouping, the **elitist build snobs**, etc. There's nothing about that that is unfixable and it is nothing that has to be lived with. The baseline raid difficulty doesn't need to be on par with Ascalon story mode, it just also should not be so ridiculously daunting. **The DPS check on gors is unwinnable in a pug**, I've tried to teach the fight to like 75 groups at this point, it's just impossible. A middle ground had to happen and still could happen. The raids don't need to be 2 hours of trying to fill and then replacing 3 slots every two wipes, they could be so good if they just took the edge off the baseline difficulty. > That dps check is so hard that you can 5man it. Why is it so hard to change builds? It costs nothing. You can win that dps check with Daredevils just auto attacking. im not even joking. it has been done. The problem is that you just cant balance for random builds without boons. 2 good dps players are already enough to hardcarry that boss. I've almost never seen the enrage on a boss in a training. training groups struggle with builds and (nonexistant) rotations and most of the time they arent even attacking the boss but are running around doing 3digit dps. The gorseval updraft dps check is incredible easy. Maybe a kill of a 4mill golem in less than 3min should be a requirement to enter a raid. Almost every build would be able to do that with only autoattacks but a lot of players in training groups would probably fail. Holo has a 2 apm build that does 29k dps. cant make it simpler than that. gorseval would be below story mode difficulty in ff. Some bosses are harder and require specific builds for certain roles but w1-4 are fairly simple with the exception of deimos. Most problems can be solved with 30min on golem + a copypasta build. Builds do matter and they should. its just that they dont matter in open world at all.
  6. > @"Stavros.8249" said: > Confusion damage over time should be affected by condition damage. It does no damage now. Every spec that use **confusion is garbage in pve**. Give it a 0.6 modifier like the other conditions. This is for pve only Except for 2 raidbosses where it is incredible op. So op that everything without confusion is underperforming. It is also doing high dmg to bounties.

But a player reaching 50% of the benchmark on the golem, will be more likely to reach 50% of Dhuum benchmark damage as well. But if they CANNOT even reach 50% of golem benchmark dps then they will never reach any kind of damage on Dhuum. > > > Well, the point i am making is that you _won't_ change those players. > > I'm just curious here, how are those players incapable of reaching that damage threshold when it can be achieved simply by auto attacking. Actually good players can achieve close to benchmark on Dhuum. Like 75%-80% close if you filter out the pre. Record even has bench values for main fight. You just cant help the bad players unless all choices are kinda equal with distinct builds for roles. This mmo is the only one i know where you can equip tank gear as dps. I like this system but it is just not working for casuals. a large number of players doesnt even bother to read their traits or skills.

Remember, that to get a similar weekly total you would need to run fractals every single day. Raiders get all their stuff upfront, and then they can just use the rest of the week for other things. You can say you can only do it once per week, but it can also be said that you have to do it _only_ once per week. > > That saying, i would not be opposed to adding more rewards to Raids... as long as some of the stuff from Raids gets available through other PvE avenues. Alternate legendary armor sets for Fractals, and for OW (the last one with similar mode of acquisition as gen1 legendary weapons) would be a good idea. Especially since raids are semi-officially abandoned already anyway. Fractals give me up to 50-60g/h and are farmable. The dailies are sometimes 40g alone. Raids have almost no gold value. Even reached 30g/h in drizzlewood. Doing fractals for 3h gives you way better rewards than raids.
  9. > @"JusticeRetroHunter.7684" said: > > @"Nephalem.8921" said: > > And why arent you including quickness/alacrity then? > > I just explained why already...You can make a quickness and alacrity calculation where you will have quickness and alacrity. But if the build itself doesn't include it, it is mathematically fallacious to include it in a calculation. This is why i don't calculate frost-bow tempest with quickness or alacrity. If i were to weigh it the same with other builds then you would do the same with druid, and the same with scrapper, and the same with whatever builds you want to compare so that you aren't purposefully skewing numbers. I even mention throughout my calculations as footnotes, that skills like Medblaster, benefit highly from quickness and i give you the range at which that ability could potentially heal with quickness on...did you miss that part of my comment or something? > In a scenario where you wont have quickness or alacrity you would be better of just playing a build that provides those boons. This includes open world pve aswell. Boons are always top priority, heal comes 2nd. Thats even true for other mmos. I would say its mathematically fallacious to not include those boons because you are screwing numbers towards builds or skills that will never be used. Also you always do "real world" checks of simulations. Thats why car manufacturers still do crashtests even with all the simulations available. Druid is listed very low with your calculations but it heals a ton on boneskinner while a hfb has very little healing there. Either the calculation is wrong or i am just a very very bad hfb. Nobody calculates dps classes with just selfbuffs either. It just makes no sense.

Technically, it **is** possible to achieve victory with every stat combo, I'm sure. Right?!? > What should they do? delete bad combos? As a power dps you want power, prec, ferocity. The only stats helping your role. As condi condi dmg expertise, prec, power with grieving in some situations. Soldier is helping nobody except yourself leeching the content.
  11. > @"JusticeRetroHunter.7684" said: > And this is exactly why I made this thread...for behavior like this. players that don't even understand how to math in order to assess performance, and instead kick players indiscriminately for reasons based on what is essentially guess work. It's actually insulting that players with 3k LI think they know how to raid. I've been solo-healing in raids for decades... the hardest bosses in WoW and in GW... You think I look on metabattle or snowcrows to get my information and just copy someone else without knowing why? > And why arent you including quickness/alacrity then? Builds scale differently with it. Firebrand gets almost nothing from quickness while scrapper gains a lot. You could use a format like Xyonons? engi spreadsheet with time spend healing/time spend casting. and factoring cd in aswell. Raw healing is still useless in this game. There are only 2 strike bosses where you even need high healing power.
  12. > @"Pip.2094" said: >The only boss that I'd say to be bugged af is Grenth in p4, unless it's seriously meant that it resets whenever one starts attacking it with a skill that isn't autoattack. It reflects projectiles. Resets if not hit within a few sec after teleport. Everything works except projectiles. You can also use traps or mines to solo it. Lots of groups did arah full clears during the dungeon days. Afaik only p4 got some slight nerfs but rewards got massive nerfs. From 3g per path to 1. Recipes are almost worthless now.
  13. > @"LadyKitty.6120" said: > druid is bad choice for Boneskinner despite everyone wanting one (toss a coin to your soulbeast...). Druid has more heal than fb and scrapper from my testing. I got 13k hps with gotl. 17k+ is possible with lingering light. Only selfstats work with healing so im curious what other builds could achieve. You show a potential 35k hps for engi and i never saw that on bs.
  14. > @"TequilaBean.9326" said: > this kitten bug is still persistent. what a waste of kitten time. at least please remove it from dailies rotation so we can complete or dailies. Its still fairly simple to complete the fractal with the bug. you just need 2 meta dps players. Sadly a lot of the players keep running their snowflake builds which makes it impossible to complete. Doesnt look like they will fix it anytime soon so just try to live with the bug. brute force with dps.

Changing attunements every 3 seconds, dodging frequently for evasive arcana, keeping almost every weapon skill in three attunements on cooldown, keeping all three utilities on cooldown. At least we don't have to hit our healing ability :D Condi engi has double the apm of weaver. That spec gives you carpal tunnel. Weaver traitline consists of almost only dps traits. Core ele will never beat it in that area.
  16. > @"Fueki.4753" said: > I don't even swap elements on my Elementalists, unless I want to be faster in no-mount zones. > **I always camp Fire in combat.** Maybe thats why you dont like t4 fractals. Only 8-9 skills are used in dps rotations but you could use other skills for utility. Going from fire -> earth to stack might. or earth/water for evades etc. You use most of the skills in pvp. Definitely think that this is a mechanic. Double the skills of any other profession besides engi. Most of them arent weak anymore.

Bind every skill to keyboard keys, keep punching the keyboard and you will achieve like 85% bench performance. Its probably the easiest class in the game. > Mirage - Easy One of the hardest classes to play perfectly. > Renegade - Easy Why am i not seeing a lot of 38k dps rens then? Unlike scourge this has ressource management and a rotation. > Herald - Medium On the difficulty level of scourge with insane sustain on top. > Engineer - Easy Literally requires the highest apm. Twice as much as weaver. Incredible hard to play properly without being a leech. I agree with the rest. Best condi for pve is firebrand by far. The only condi being good and even very strong in fractals. Best selfbuffs for solo content. Good at almost every raidboss. The other ones are more niche but better in some areas.
  18. that phase would be such a waste of time without consumables
  19. Who would use that set? Power without precision is bad. Pve needs concentration and minstrel is better for wvsw.
