Fractals actually were fun imo, you could run builds based on encounter and not what snowcrows posted on golem benchmark and every sheep demands from you. Did you really play during those times? It was meta or gtfo. Except for necros. It was just gtfo for them. Everyone used berserker aswell or it was a kick. There was 0 experimenting in pugs past a certain level. What you did do was running builds based on encounter but you should still do that now. Its just that hfb outheals everything currently so you dont need the builds anymore unless you play without a healer. Guards who didnt use wor were kicked back then. Most guards now dont even know what the skill does or which bosses have reflectable attacks. "When I was leveling my Engineer on my alt account and did Mai Trin in a T2 group I was cleansing conditions like a madman with Healing Turret & Elixir Gun" back then this approach just wouldnt have worked. The damage was way too high. Its currently still not a great strategy to use more than healing turret as a dps there. You are not supposed to get hit and loaded with condis in the first place. The hfb turned fractals into classic trinity facetank mode just without the tank mechanics.

If you have a look at snowcrows the benchmark is currently dominated by mesmers with 42k dps. Considering Anet is not going to nerf the current Meta builds I would rather buff those builds who are not in the Meta with a balance patch before EoD is released so the staff can focus on balancing the new elite specialisations. > > It depend if we talk about raids or fractals , Raids have mostly bosses with big hitboxes in fractal it is the other way around . Mirage can reach like 45k if you factor in confusion. Ele is meta in fractals.

Lineage2 works completely different aswell. Heck most pcs cant keep up with crowds how should a mobile device do it? There was probably something like gw mobile planned but they had to scrap it. Maybe it just didnt work. I hate this "go mobile" approach so much. Developing for mobile means cutting features almost always. Have you read the anet post? Apple dropped openGl support. The client will just not work with newer macOS versions anymore unless its build around metal or vulkan which could use moltenVK then. I would like an engine rework which uses vulkan but that would require a lot more staff and time. Anet doesnt have the resources for this. It works now because openGl still works in this macOS version. It will not in the future anymore because of apple. Macs are not targeted at gamers at all. They cant compete there. Not even close. Rewriting the entire client to be compatible for 5% would be retarded when they could instead use vulkan or dx12 to increase to performance for the other 95%. The 7% marketshare you mentioned includes ipads and iphones doesnt it?
  6. > @"lare.5129" said: > Android and MacOS is a market. If you not support that this is product problem, but not problem for Android or MacOS. If the market is split 95% - 5% and the 5% still does its own things when vulkan and opengl exist then its not the devs fault. I'm not even sure if you are serious about android. Thats a mobile os. There is no point in supporting android with a game like this. Genshin impact barely runs and it was developed for mobile. There is far less going on. Why are you complaining here instead of on apples forums. Lots of games wouldnt work on windows if ms would drop openGl aswell. Not everything uses DirectX anymore. a lot of titles, especially indie titles, use vulkan or opengl. MS cant really do that afaik unless they just ban the software. Support comes with drivers. Drivers are not part of windows but they are part of macOS.
  7. > @"lare.5129" said: > there is no any arrangement. There is platform. And one of business concepts true make wide, and keep update yourself and bring to ppl. If Apple update something - the good product update himself to bring it. **I still don't understand why where is no good usable way to play as mane other game on andriod/macos..** Do you know how programming works? Android is a mobile OS. Also arm. They use their own graphics api. Well to be fair its vulkan and opengl but they are not the same versions as the desktop ones. MacOS does their own thing with metal. A bunch of open source solutions exist to make windows games run on linux. Could work on mac. And what I meant with mac hardware was that its not common to have very powerful graphic cards in imacs. Can you even get something like a 3080 or 6800xt inside one? Turns out nvidia cards arent even supported by mac. The only mac i saw that uses such a card is the imac which starts at 3.1k €. You could get a pc with the same specs for less than 1/3 of the price. Thats why gaming is so much more popular on pc.
  8. > @"Sol.6340" said: > I've logged thousands of hours in the game and just spent over $100 in gems, and ANet is just telling me that I'm not a valuable player. **There are dozens if not more ways to allow Mac players to continue to play without having to invest in new hardware or switching to the PC world.** Especially during the time of the pandemic, this is an extremely poor decision. I'm disappointed, I'm angry, and I'm unable to comprehend why there's almost no notice on ANet's part (they've known for at least 2 years this was going to be an issue) and also just... depressed. WvW was my game mode of choice, I spent countless hours playing, defending, and making friends and in one slash you've taken that all away from me. There are no words to describe how upset I am. > > Poor choice. All the way around. > > - Persistence (Purrsi), Carissa Which ones? Name a few please. Anet will not block you out of their game. They just wont give you a native client anymore. There are still ways to run the windows client on mac. Multiple other studios already made the decision and more will make the same. Native support for mac is not worth it unless a port is simple and in anets case it wouldnt be simple at all. OpenGLsupport discontinued. Now if gw would use vulkan instead it could be possible with moltenvk but will most likely not happen. Vulkan could also help with performance problems but changing the api this late would require a lot more engine devs than they currently have.

The first part is true though. I get if you dont like windows but you could still game on linux with some workarounds. You get a lot better hardware for the same price that way. Getting high end hardware in a mac is just incredible expensive.
  10. > @"Sol.6340" said: > ... spend thousands of dollars on a computer only to be told, again with little or no warning, that my operating system/graphics card/whatever is no longer viable? ... You dont have to spend 1000 on a pc. Not sold by apple afterall. 600 are probably more than enough. The good thing about a pc is that you can upgrade just your graphics card if its too weak. You dont have to buy a new computer like with macs all the time.

Hammer is the best weapon power engi has. Holo with hammer would be insane. > > The main reason GS isn't as effective as axe on Mirage is because it's a power weapon and Mirage is a condi spec. Axe was designed as a condi weapon. It may not suit your personal class fantasy but it's got little to do with axe being overpowered compared to the alternatives. It's the fact that its a proper condi weapon on a class without many alternatives when using a condi spec. Traits like chronophantasma are also just bad. Thats a 25-30% power mod which results in chrono being mandatory for power mesmer builds in pve. Part of gs mirage being bad is chrono having ridiculous modifiers. You cant use power mirage in raids because the mirage line has 0 mods compared to chrono. The ambush would have to do ridiculous amounts of dmg to be worth as much as danger time + chronophantasma.

Air 5 is the only reason why tempest has good dmg in pve. It has nothing to do with aura traits. Holo doesnt use sword in all builds because it lacks an offhand. Some weapons fill a niche like chrono shield. But elite weapons that are not best for the elite in any gamemode are just badly designed or underpowered. What place does a new weapon have when it is not better than an already existing one.

  14. There is a workaround for the bug. Enough dps lets you skip the phase. The dps threshold to achieve this is very low outside of cms. 1 decent dps is enough most of the time.

Unless your group is challenged at stacking or you are challenged at casting your mantras towards allies, there is 0 reason to take FMW with 100% bd in fratcals. Now don't get me wrong you can play how ever you want and obviously have to adapt to how bad a group is (aka if there is 0 stacking). Suffice to say, stability is more useful than ONLY at Skorvald IF you want to carry the group or don't want to send your renegade on dwarv. You only achieve 16% overstack with 100% bd and perfect mantra application. 30-40% overstack with stalwart speed which would be better without fmw but pugs never read their traits. Taking stalwart speed reduces aegis and might application a bit but would always go for it. The thing is that pug fbs dont have 100% bd. they run around with like 40-60% because minstrels exists. They also dont take stalwart speed and always play with mace. I have probably 10 hfbs and blocklist by now who achieved 0% outgoing fury. Thats why i even stopped pugging on reaper and dont recommend it to anyone. 0% fury uptime is just not fun. Lets be honest, most hfb players in pugs are bad. Some are even skill clickers and cant press mantras on cd. Its hard to imagine that quickness can be a problem without fmw but pugs somehow manage 50% uptime with fmw. Just watch some streams where some players ignore the mantra for like 20sec. On topic. In snowblind you kill the add as soon as it spawns. The circles are dodgeable. You cant really heal people running around and good players dont really need heal to begin with. Should probably focus on add/boss and heal where it is because thats where the dps players should stand. In 9 out of 10 times you should kick the dps players asking for more heal though. Sometimes the heal is really low and you can always carry hard as hfb but most fights are designed without a healer in mind. Players should be able to stay alive without one in most cases. Most dps players nowadays dont even know that reflects do damage :-(

FF from 9 to 11. Poe updated from dx9 to dx11 to vulkan. Of course its possible if you dont fire or bully every engine dev out of the company. Dx9 doesnt even support low level optimisation afaik. That api is 18years old and outdated. They dont have to rewrite the entire engine to support technology from this century. It probably wont happen and it will just die soon. 15-20fps in zergs is just not fun. Upgrading hardware into the 1-2k range doesnt even add much.

You will outburst every power build outside of 400kp groups. Especially hfb groups with their forever lasting phases. Every class except maybe chrono has a strong fractal build. This reads like somebody got mad because the group wouldnt accept his trailblazer/celestiel scourge. Just dont play scourge, reaper is so much better. The only exception is 100.

You can technically have a rotation in that game but the windows are generally not large enough for it to matter. Gw2 could technically design a boss encounter that had 20 different attack patterns that you have to react to with very small windows but it would fundamentally change how people play the game for that encounter. Could be interesting but would require a ton of work to make that style of combat feel satisfying in gw2. You would stack cfbs and block your way through it. you would still have optimal rotations. good players would also just dodge while doing their rotations. What you describe is basically like a dungeon/fractal solo in glass where you need to avoid attacks.

Wiping for hours on last boss is definitely not common. > > We are talking about the lowest Fractal tier and Fractal is the main instanced repeatable content still supported by ArenaNet and available to any player since level 80. I see no reason to give such an unpleasant experience to new players. Sure, they could just avoid that Fractal and many of them will do that. It is braindead easy in t1. Every dungeon in ff has deadlier mechanics and they are casual content there. I helped in t1 a few times now and there is just no pressure at all. most open world bosses are deadlier.

Alacren burst rotation doesn't include staff at all. The 2 aa of that holo could be used on the boss to phase it faster. usually holo even has laser disk going when anom spawns so going out of melee range would be really bad. Ren needs one icerazor or sword 4 + 2 to kill anom. doesnt take long at all. in a static you burst through the phases so fast that usually everyone helps the ren after boss is phased but cant expect pugs to burst. Alaren burst opener does include staff on a lot of bosses. would be impossible to break most bars without it unless you gimp every elses dps.
