  1. Viper is the glass cannon stat for condi classes.

You will never go all glass cannon on pvp modes (wvw or spvp) so you choose a stat that has offensive and a bit of defense for survivality (Trailblazer or Dire).

Never use Grieving unless you know what you're doing. (its another glass cannon stat, but drops condi duration for more power damage).

  2. Waiting time is bad, but its something needed.

Hundreds, if not thousands of players do the clock tower jp at the same time. It takes an instance due to the "time race" nature of the JP, which is a really unique feature and adds a sense of emergency and pressure into it.

Instances holds around 5 players max iirc, if there were an instance per player, it would take 5x times the resources of the game, leading to possible lag or delays on the game's net performance.

Maybe a match making system would be the solution for this. put people that tends to fall a lot in the same instances, and put the 'expert' players that can 1 pull the entire jumping puzzle in another instance. So there won't be frustrated unexp jp players waiting for these JP farmers to finish their run.

  3. Its hard, yes, the difficulty step betwen t2 and t3 is surreal.

Said this, this is the charm of the fractal, My only complain is that the game looks so dark without reshade and you can's see the beartraps, which screws you over if you step on one.

Takes time to master, and a lot of group coordination. People underestimate the [invigorator Rifle Prototypes](https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Invigorator_Rifle_Prototype) and its a good option if you don't have supporting skills to help people carrying the whisps.

  4. > The Grand High Viscount of Candy Corn, the Skeletal Lich, and the Labyrinthine Horror have had their health and damage scaling per player lowered and their base health and damage increased to provide a more even challenge across group sizes.

Basically, these bosses were weaker the less people were there to fight them and got way stronger as the group grew.

Now its the other way around, they're stronger when a small group fights them, but weaker when you fight them with a squad.

  5. I sometimes get immovilized with 8 stacks and i'm not sure why.

I still don't know how are you supposed to avoid all the whirlpools Ai sends you without having do dodge. Like, you can avoid everything without dodging in the whole fight, including dark cm phase, except for these thick rows of whirlpools that apply Slow on hit.

  6. Always get leg armor on your main character.

If you don't specifically have a main character or you only have 1 build on your main, then you have to choose one of your characters that might have more than 2 builds and you plan on using them often.

Legendary armor only grants you the possibility to switch stats and runes whenever you want, they doesn't have any difference on stats than an ascended armorset, and since the introduction of Equipment Storages, having a legendary set is more of a whim than a necessity (until they implement the [legendary armor templates](https://en-forum.guildwars2.com/discussion/100933/legendary-equipment-and-templates-merged/p1) which enables to share the legendary armor between all your characters of the same weight of the armor, but that's probably gonna take a while to be implemented).

    > But, I agree that the rewards should happen regardless of whether you buy anything or not, and certainly if you buy one of the expensive ones (which means you had to save them for a while).

1.- So the tokens stockpile in your inventory and then trade them in one go with the npc instead of having to go to the npc daily after you compelte fracs.

2.- Materials from the boxes gets devaluated from a bigger offer than deman since everyone is getting them/farming them, so its better to wait a few months to open the boxes and sell the materials instead of filling your mat storage and potentially occupying bank slots because of the excess of mats you get. So there is no actual hurry to trade tokens other than, of course, not receiving the Community Rewards which is the OP's annoyance. I didn't know either until someone commented on it so I had to go trade 1 token.

  8. My charr is like my own avatar, so yeah, its me.

Or even better, its the "Me" I want to be that I can't be in real life.

Not to confuse it with "character blending" thought, but hell, thats what fantasy mmorpg are for, you can be a weapon wielding character that goes on an adventure around the world battling creatures and meeting new friends, Its a fantastic feel if you look it that way.

  9. **Answer:** Yes, ascended boxes drops on non endgame content is really, really rare.

I have 10k hours of playtime, on open world i've only gotten 2 asc chest and only from Tequatl.

I'm lv 680-ish on WvW, i've gotten like 5 asc chests in total from level up rewards.

Raiding nets you with a huge amount of standalone ascended weapons, and less frecuently asc boxes, i've got a 100-slot storage mule dedicated to hold these weapons since I get flooded by them. and i've only got 900 LI iirc

Fractals however, is where you get a high chance for asc boxes, both weapon and armor. **I've only crafted 1 asc set ever** and now I have more than 15 characters fully geared up with asc equipment, and I have a bank tab exclusive for asc weapon boxes and another tab for asc armor boxes. I've been doing daily CMs + T4s for two years now..

Note that higher tiers of chests have a higher chance of asc drops. You'll rarely get asc boxes on T1 daily chests (but they still drop, and more frecuently than open world pve) but from T3 and T4 chests, you get an average of 1 asc armor each 3 days doing Fractals T4s.

    > Yes non toolbelt skills were always interrupted since Holo's release, but a few patches ago they changed it so any skill can be cast into forge which felt amazing and everyone seemed super happy about it. It was great using things like sword 3 and enter forge mid cast. Unfortunately they reverted this last patch which is the reason of this post.

Well, never played sword holo. but I can confirm that you interrump fire bomb and shrapnel grenade if you enter photon forge before finishing the cast, and pretty sure it was always been that way.

What you can do is increase your field of sight through game settings.

This is the settings I use, see if they're good for you.

**Options -> General Options -> Camera**

    Vertical position near = MAX

    Field of view = MAX

**[✓]** Adjust camera to character height

Additionally, so the UI is small and doesn't get in your way:

**Options -> Graphics Options -> Display**

    Interface Size: Small

    **[✓]** DPI Scaling

Oh boy, my first pull yesterday on CM100.

I ended up being at 30% hp right after the first cloud split phase, imagine my struggle of staying alive with the Harmstrung debuff, burned all my dodges, couldn't holo leap more than two times cus I overheated, had to use the jumps to avoid taking more hits, and eventually downed to the constant thunder AoEs spawning above me without beign able to outrun it.

It was kinda amusing, and so ridiculous.

    > * Efram declared official Flame Imperator

    > * Malice is the only proper candidate but denies Khan-Ur position

Rytlock doesn't have much of a possitive status withing Blood Legion, he basically ditched the legions for a while to do whatever unrelated to the charr he wanted and he gained some bad reputation out of that, on top of having Bangar probably bad mouthing him for "not being a good tribune like his cub is", he might be Anet's mascot but he's if anythign, the worst candidate to command anything Charr related.

Mia might be a good bet to become Iron legion imperator. But there is also Bhuer Goreblade who is the head of the Adamant Guards on Black Citadel and has had plenty of screen on the Charr Personal Story. My thoughts is that we won't have an iron legion imperator, we should just wait to see how the story develops, or until Anet decides out of thin air "X is new iron imperator".

Its a given Efram will be next Flame Imperator, i'm surprised he isn't already (unless Anet kills him as another excuse plot).

Malice might have good intentions, but right now she's nowhere near to be a candidate; its known Ash legion is so frowned upon for being super secretive even with fellow legions (a good strategy, but that only rises suspiction and untrust) and she's still young even to be an Imperator. Khan-Ur is something that you win with effort and hard work through many, many years. Smodur was old and who knows how much time he has been working on getting the Khan-Ur title, but he was still decades far from getting the title. Malice isn't specifically doing anything for that, "denying the khan-ur position" is an overstatement as she isn't even close to it.

AN on topic, remember that Khan-Ur is a serious title, its not something that someone could get just for the sake of it. We haven't had a Khan-Ur in mileniums, we won't get one now, it takes way more than everyone thinks.

  14. Excuse me, Rytlock as candidate? not by a long shot, he has done anything in favor to the Charr, in any case, he's a rogue charr that went AWOL just to go adventure with a group of other races.

I really doubt Crecia would be a khan-ur candidate, if nythign she might become the next blood legion imperator but that's something I really doubt it will happen. Remember than a Kahn.Ur status is won through dedicationa nd trust over the years by all four legions. If anything, Smodur was the only and best candidate to become next Khan-Ur in this generation.

I really doubt we will get a Khan-Ur in GW2, everyone knows what will happen afterwards if there isn't a resolution to all races conflicts before we get a Khan-Ur and that's something the plot can't afford to have from the player's POV.

    Short answer: dodge.

Long answer: This boss is definitely the hardest dungeon boss, but fortunately it is still an AI boss with patterns and easy to see telegraphs. the difficulty on this boss is that it doesn't work as a DPS golem as many bosses on the game since it has OHKO attacks that cannot be mitigated so easily.

You have to actually fight it like you would fight a dark souls boss, just dodge the strongest attack, know when to halt your dps to focus on dodging and survival.

    ------

Arah is definitely the hardest Dungeon on the game it even has its own tier on difficulty. But it is still old content and has fallen behind the power creep of the game. if peopel struggle with this is because bosses and enemies can't be cheesed with dps avalanches and requires to advance carefully through mobs.

There is a 15% tax regardless if you list or insta sell.

Most mats sells like hot bread so even if you list then on 1c lower than the best sell order you're gonna sell it in a few minutes.

  17. I'm gonna keep it simple here.

Mats arent that crtical for a new player. You can safely sell them on TP, just make sure you list instead of insta sell.

There are some QoL upgrades you should get. Copper Salvage-o-Matic is definitely one of these, you will never have to carry multiple Basic Salvage Kits anymore as this one is infinite and only occupies 1 slot in your bag/shared bag slot.

Material Storage Expansion is another big upgrade you can get, in my experience, I didn't run into the no-material-space on my bank anymore since I expanded it to 1500 cappacity.

However, buy these upgrades only when they're on sale. never at full price.
