It was obvious to everyone except ANet right from the PoF beta and the ridiculous amount of splittings scourge has seen in the different game modes since its release just show that trying to balance this spec is an impossible task.

The better solution would be giving them the renegade treatment. Make the shades killable. Now there you have counterplay.

  2. I think people is overreacting. Found the story pretty interesting so far, but yes definitely not on the level of expansion like content. But I daresay that current virus crisis mightve affected the level of content. However, as I see it, the real meat of the current episode is the meta battle and I enjoy to play it.

Drizzlewood coast is far superior to Silverwastes and a far more colorful place. It is one of the best metas yet and not super spread out like the hot ones. The battle following back and forth much more frequently than Silverwastes.

    > Yeah.... Whilst I don't mind to teach other people, it certainly not some random pug (it'll be either guidie or friends and their friends too): speaking from experience, if you try to teach the random something in instanced content, most of the time they just stay silent without acknowledging that they heard you, yet still making the same mistake after the exp gave suggestions multiple times, several failed pulls and they just left still without a word, or left after only 1 strike/daily even if it was advertised as a full strike, then you'll have to go back on LFG again as well as shuffling roles around & wasted more times on it. With increasingly more strikes (& longer duration too -> looking at you, cold war) to add to the "daily strike list" after each release, times are getting more valuable if you only have let's say 1 hour but you're squeezing in more runs now, therefore efficiency comes into the priority. Also you can't track their improvement, never ask question, not like guidie who you'll get a few more runs with them therefore they stick around enough to listen to your advice.

    > That said, which is the reason why if I do pug strikes I'd mostly do only the easy ones (Ice golem/FoJ/Bear), with the exception that joining the full strike squad when I see that there's a comm who do care to ask for specific roles. Otherwise, I usually prefer to join my friends/guild for the harder strikes. I don't have enough LI to join those cool kids, but I do understand their requirements.

Unfortunately if you only go for specific strikes, its not finishing the weekly chest.

If anything, they drop too much, or the gobblers is just too limited. Gobbling 150-250 empyreal fragments a day is not going to help lots if you got 800+ after a long playing session in the newest map.

    > What you are suggesting also requires a fair amount of spirit shards, which for me at least, are difficult to stock up on as I do not like doing the story and mastery farming. So even though I raid each week, I am limited on making new ascended armor without doing supplemental content. My point remains though that lesser vision crystals have very limited access vs their counterpart of regular vision crystals.

What are you using them for? Theyve been pooling up for me since I stopped making legendaries. Sitting on 1000+ spirit shards now.

  5. Im having hundreds of Bloodstone Bricks, Dragonite Ingots and Empyreal Stars in bank. Ive taken to refine the small materials as they flood you to ridiculous levels from playing the game. If anything, they drop too much, or the gobblers is just too limited. Gobbling 150-250 empyreal fragments a day is not going to help lots if you got 800+ after a long playing session in the newest map.

So Ive absolutely no issue making -any- vision crystal.

  6. Yeah, necros is far too dependent on shroud uptime, and it -hurts- vs bosses because nothing else dies. And you feel seriously gimped because your shroud was knocked off and struggling to get it back.

Suggestion: -Completely- eliminate lifeforce from deaths and move it completely to weapons and utilities.

Then necromancer dagger could be retooled as the fast boss killer weapon with sustain, vs greatsword for hordes.

This would also have the bonus making necromancers much less overpowered in zergs due to the massive lifeforce gain.

  7. How are they regarded currently for PvE? Are they desired in groups?

I have played necromancer for a great long time, and is getting weary of playing a class that have too much passive survivability and too low damage.

I asume Elementalists mainly relies on active survivability due to their low base health?

I am in particular eyeballing Tempest.
