I ended up with spare masteries by the time I had the experience accrued - but I did also play each release when it came out, not all at once (which helped me build a few up). I think there are a lot of plain insights, and quite a few you can get with just a little bit of time (the challenges, one Cold War (or try it daily for 10 days to get your 2nd if you enjoy it, saves you doing something else), story instances... the more I tried to make this list I found that I wanted to list nearly all of them, I truly think this is something they did well this time.)

    > I haven't done any of the weapon collections besides Boreal, not even sure if that gave a mastery. I think the masteries are all quite easy to get, except for Cold War 50 times... that IS a kitten grind. The 5000 commendations went pretty good for me, I just bought the ones each day for materials and did a few metas whilst going for events. The missions unlocked with the mission documents give quite a few commendations, but some of them are REALLY annoying (thank god you don't need them for anything else.)

For cold war you get first at first kill if i remember right. And the second by the 10th kill.

If you start giving it something useful in pve that is competitive with the other mounts, you can be kitten sure about the QQstorm that would be unleashed if you had go into wvw to earn it, because it would feel forced to have it for specific situations.

Because its made for WvW only. Theres no but here. They simply allowed it so people could show it off with the new skins. It has absolutely zero use in pve and should stay so. If you give it an use, then people will qq about having to do WvW for it.

Whats so hard to understand about that the Warclaw is -not- meant to be a pve oriented mount? If you start giving it something useful in pve that is competitive with the other mounts, you can be damn sure about the QQstorm that would be unleashed if you had go into wvw to earn it, because it would feel forced to have it for specific situations.

Anet made a mistake when they allowed it in pve to let people prance around with their new warclaw skin.

  4. Have to agree about Domain of Kourna. So....flat and unappealing with sandy colors everywhere. Plus a bad meta too. Only saving grace is the roller beetle.

Second is Dry Top for reasons listed earlier.

I must be in the rarity for liking Tangled Depths. Once you get used to all the spots to move to different layers it opens up a lot. Skyscale helps as well.

But Verdant brink is far superior, and I daresay one of the best maps in the game that really gets the metroidvania feeling going.

Use the home portal stone, but do not go into the green glow, but head to the 'exitdoor' for your home capital. And voila, you are in the capital, and having completely bypassed the starting experience.

    > Doesn't that break your story though? I heard that's why they disabled all the other teleports in the starting instance - if you exit that way the intro story step doesn't complete and then you can never continue the personal story on that character because there's no way back into that instance.

It does not, there will be a green arrow to go back to the intro. Which is located in your home instance.

Less risky with a shared slot tbh, no risk of forgetting the stone on the new char when deleting it.

  7. Leyline gliding is super useful, theres leylines in various maps in the living story seasons 3+, as well bounce shrooms.

Leyline gliding is used in hot to reach hero points that is unreachable except with mounts or a friendly mesmer portaling you.

Northern Drizzlewood have leyline gliding options.

And theres more than enough hot mastery points to get everything if you have the whole of ls3. I have everything hotwise unlocked, and x21 spare hot mastery points.

    > Those visions are literally the first time you meet Braham, Rox, Frostbite and Canach. It may not mean much to you, but to many people it at least explains why they suddenly show up in LS2; many newbies assume they are from Fractals instead.

    > And they're heavily incomplete. Those were just four missions out of many, and some of it was open-world.

They mean absolutely nothing because theres no context with it. What is going on in those missions? Thats why I find them pointless, they should have restored all of ls1, instead of serving bits and pieces. And we dont know if we get more at all.

It's like the knights in Bloodstone Fen that had like 5k range on a dismount attack. It doesn't add "flavor" or difficulty, it's just annoying. Hopefully Anet will notice that and make changes like they did for Bloodstone.

Skyscale is not useless. Im getting around just fine. You need to learn to use the Dash properly, combined with the mount stamina refilling ability. Dashing makes you evade all attacks during the dash. Plus we have recieved the mount stealth power, 8s on 30s cd.
