If you are on a lower tiered server it takes a whole lot longer unfortunately. It really doesn’t.., flipping camps, sentries, killing yaks, and taking shrines is a very easy way to keep participation up while not needing people to help. Towers are doable, yet hard. I’ve seen solo’s cap keeps but yeah, you can’t plan for it. To me, Warbringer is easier in many ways than Warclaw.

It states that _caps_ are changed based on host-link combinations. Granted, things do no longer have to work like that. It is an old post and there are examples to the contrary. For example, the same post states that there are counter measures against servers trying to dump population by boycotting for a week or two, but recently we have seen servers do that just fine. > > The other issue is more of a rumour, but it is established well enough to be the greatest troll in the history of the WvW forums if it isn't true. That is that BB is kept manually open because it is the only server highlighted with that language definition. So, everyone in EU could transfer there. There may be a source, but I have admittedly just heard so many different players on different servers taking it for granted by now, so I have begun to do so myself. I shouldn't ofc. > > Got it. You are likely correct, and we both know that Anet won’t publish actual pop data. I wish they WOULD publish a population hours chart again like the infamous one from a couple years ago. Just with server names, but no actual ‘numbers’.

I don’t disagree that the population *levels* are different in each server ( for many reasons) But the actual *caps*? I’ve never heard that. People speculate, but never seen where the caps are different.

  7. May I suggest if you have a slot available that you kind of start from the beginning with one? It will reintroduce you to the story, some of the beginning mechanics will come back fast. Or, you could find a toon that is level 80 and run back through some of the story., It’s hard sometimes when things feel lost to feel confident, yet, revisiting some areas may bring back a lot of the experience you are missing fairly quickly. Also, if you check your friends list and recognize someone that was helpful, that may be a good way to get back in also. Welcome back!

I guess you play with some real ‘young cats’ as on my server, even with the links, I have rarely seen (like twice in a year) people calling for others to leave a map. It just isn’t something I see... We did have one guild a couple years ago that would pull an EWP in a BL to get people off the map they wanted, but even that was a rarity. That was actually kind of funny.. especially as people figured it out.

I guess people would just log in daily, do the Ley Line anomaly daily, and maybe do WvW to amass up to 70 ish per day if I couldn’t afford them.

(From 9 up to 12 gold just from the coins)

I can probably create and ascended equip any class, but I would like some imput on what and how to play :) I am going to assume HFB is a heal fire brand. Likely with a tweak or two, that would be highly desired in most squads in WvW. The largest drawback is that you do low on the damage side, however as a support, you are normally needed. Depending on your server (or world) I would seek out a WvW guild after a week or two of following a commander you may find works for you. But other wise, if you can’t find a group, the mirage can be quite effective for running solo or duo in WvW. Just don’t let the salt and garbage that you will see in team chat bug you. Ignore it lol.

And before you say "inflation", i'll add that this trend is also upward if you compare it to the market as a whole. There's very, very few commodities on the market with such a longterm steady one-direction trend. > > > > > > "Demand" is my argument. Since Anet won't change how to get mystic coins beyond the weekly vendors and login persistence of players, demand is the only leftover factor that will make the prices go up. You forget about the 24-30 available from WvW each month, and the 28-31 available from the LLA each month. I believe that brings your potential each month to around 75. ?

But you have also included their name (chat window) in the image. Via forum rules that is considered naming and shaming. As far as why you were blocked, they have to block you in a WvW mode in order to get your name to be able to whisper. Most are too childish to realize they still have you blocked to get a response. And again, like all of the internet you have people on here that get a thrill from getting a response. Like they got from you as you went to the forum and posted it. Some people take joy from that, post screenshots of reactions in personal discord’s etc. Me? I screenshot the messages like you did, and our guild enjoys a laugh about them. It’s kind of fun and therapeutic. Yet, if it truly offends, and some can be truly offensive, **block, report** and send a screenshot in a mail to the exploits mail. If seen bans for particularly offense players. But don’t give them the satisfaction of thinking they got under your skin.

I for one wants this sort of behavior to be publically condemned. Sure. You want to name and shame > 4. Things have gotten worse in there, huh? It has been... 6 years or so since I PvP'd in WvW, and I didn't get a lot of these. No. It’s always been like this. And if you take things personally, maybe this mode isn’t for you. So you understand the only way that person can message you in a WvW mode? They HAVE to block you to get your account name to be able to whisper you. Of course what’s funny is they either don’t realize or don’t care that you can’t message back. It’s a game. Played by people between 13 (supposedly) and 65+. You’re going to get ALL kinds of behavior on this. Report, block and move on. You’re not special. ?
  18. I don’t wonder why people do things like that. I also don’t know why people like to name and shame on a forum. Or why people let others get so far under their skin that they need to complain about it on a forum. But that’s really mild compared to the whispers in WvW lol.

All this drama, politicking and backstabbing...for what? Stroking your e-stick to compensate for what you don't have? Doing it just for kicks? Tryharding in this manner is just sad and just drives people away from playing this game. And overall, these situations demonstrate how flawed and broken the server tier system actually is. If ya ask me, honestly, nothing short of unifying all the servers and implementing a WvW mega server with a 3-way faction system will actually address population in any meaningful way. Yes, I know _some_ people will _balk_ at this suggestion, but I honestly see no other way. With the server links that we have, we basically are halfway there. (8 to 4 tiers) However, I see that people are either too loyal to either their guild or their server (aka "guild pride" and "server pride" respectively) to actually accept meaningful changes to WvW. > > > > > > > > > > So I would assume based on the text in your posts that you feel as if ‘guilds’ have no true use in the game. I am in a guild and I do use VOIP. > > Also, in what way does my suggestion eliminate any ability to work together consistently? If anything, it _enhances_ it. Guilds would more easily meet each other since they don't need to pay an arm and a leg in cross-server transfers. They easily can all meet up on the same world. As far as cross-faction guilds go aka. "all three colors", as you say, realistically the only way I can think of to oppose that is through implementing some sort of blacklisting system as a check and balance against that, although even that can be abused. > > And EOTM did _not_ fail because the megaserver system is bad, it failed because of two reasons: the map, and the implementation of pips. There is a reason that most people in WvW keep to Alpine BLs and Eternal BG and reject EOTM, Obsidian Sanctum. The maps suck! ANet also royally messed up the rewards between EOTM and general WvW back then. Ok.. so.. explain to me how, in a ‘megaservered’ system, you can **guarantee** you play with your guild members? Because of course, ‘servers and worlds’ would go away. Period.

I doubt they would do anything yet as this is still relatively early for this new trend of continual growth, but perhaps later in the year we will hear something from them. > > > > Lastly, a thought on why this could be happening. This could be a result of players pre-purchasing and holding mass quantities of MC for new Legendary items that might come with the Expac. Not saying they will use these for themselves as I am sure there are some prospectors out there waiting for the crest, but it wouldn't surprise me if there are many hundreds or thousands of MC being held by players just to work on whatever Legendaries are coming with EoD. > > Yes, Memories of Battle are currently twice as expensive as they were a year ago, but this is also tied to when the legendary ring Conflux came out last March, which required a large sum of memories, but the side effect was that buying memories for all other WvW ascended weapons and armor became twice as expensive if you're long on skirmish tickets and short on memories and don't want to wait for them...you only earn 104 memories per week if you finish Diamond tier in the skirmish reward track, and another 15 per WvW reward track whenever you complete the 2nd and 22nd stages, yet need 250 per ascended item along with the requisite number of skirmish tickets. And the price has not come back down, as the supply in the market is currently relatively scarce: there is essentially one way (WvW) to acquire them without purchasing from the TP.

The guild hall has been a consistent frustration for WvW players. The arena in there is PvE. None of the build testing against other players is ‘realistic life because of this. When pressed, it was said by the devs that because the guild halls existed within the PvE area, they could not code it with a different ‘rule set’ (ie WvW, sPvP). Likely the same applies within the raid lobby, the sPvP lobby, and, Armistice Bastion. Not being involved in their code, it would appear To this layperson that their code is limited in what it can accomplish within each area. One rule set per area.

But if the revenue from what charges ARE bought is funding the wardrobe and its complexity, then keeping it as is would be the way to go.
