  1. Arenanet should seriously just port GW2 to Stadia. Heck, it would take next to nothing as it is already PC based, and then all the mac players can hop right back on without missing a beat--plus they don't have to wait to download updates anymore and can even play on their iPad.
  2. Thing is, what I notice in this video is that the zergs you are facing do not at all slalom around the red circles. They literally just walk straight as a ball and eat it, or they stand in a spot and just eat all of it. Thing is, against a better comp, they see the massive red circle, and the group as a unit just tip toes around it before it even ticks. With Guardian symbols/sword conjure, the damage ticks IMMEDIATELY as it is placed down. Also, most of the dmg cooldowns for guard are considerably lower than ele--so it makes coordinating multiple bombs in a more prolonged fight easier to execute as well. Though with the recent heavy nerf to power guard, these factors likely push staff weaver ahead. I have been toying with Risen's burn build which can best the power guard, but in the Healbrand meta, its unreliable.
  3. Weaver was only meta to groups that had yet to test core guardian spikes. This does indirectly make Weaver more viable, but its still an extremely squishy and selfish dmg build. RIP core guard, you were fun for 5 minutes being able to do good dmg while actually contributing some support to your squad.
  4. This could be quite interesting actually. Honestly, I don't really see how Anet fixes Ele's problems without a total rework of the class, but this suggestion could give us a bit more flexibility and creative play than just let us weapon swap in combat. Though, tbh, they sorta need to let us weapon swap in combat as it is lol.

Even on my DE vs a properly stacked up blob my shots will be 99% blocked/reflected/destroyed,the one hit that does land will be instantly healed. But,on thief you can go for stragglers, and usually theres some able to be picked off. They are far from wanted because everyone does everything else better in blob fights, except getting those stragglers because of your high mobility, able to stealth finish and lock em down with immob spamms. > > > > IMO thief has a problem for zerg flanking - by design for the thief to be effective, it needs to be glassy. But if its glassy, its very weak to getting targetted. So while it does bring the damage, it has a tendancy to not be able to follow through. > > > > > > > > But then again how effective this is often depends more on how good the commander is at herding the kittens than it does on the skill of the thief. > > > > > > So which class would you suggest for such actions? > > > > > > Im thinking ranger cause of the 1500+ longbow range, but it kinda lacks AoE (except for longbow 5, which makes you a sitting duck), or perhaps an Elementalist with a staff (1200range and good AoE)? Any ideas? Id really like to give zerg busting a go ^.^ > > > > > > > > > Btw Caed, Ive heard of you busting people out on your deadeye, hope to see you ingame some time!! :) > > > > The answer you are looking for is core guardian power build. It can spike as well as a staff weaver but its WAAAYYY easier to pull off, the cooldowns aren't as punishing, you have 2 invulns, and utility that actually helps your team: ALL AT THE SAME TIME. You give up a bit of range because it relies not just on staff but on scepter, but its 100% worth it. I was playing staff weaver in WvW zergs for awhile and just on a whim switched to power core guard. It feels like a cheat code. > > Do you go full Berserker with it, or should I go more Marauder and healthy stats aswell? I don't only because I don't have the gear for it currently as ascended and I'm a bit lazy. But yes, you can run full zerker with this due to the two invulns and just get used to proper positioning. Mara is fine though if you don't want to be that alert.

  7. No not really worth it. Honestly, staff ele in wvw is in a pretty bad place imo. I have played a pretty good amount of dps backline weaver, and I just decided to try the core guard staff scepter build with the better symbol dmg. It does literally everything better, same dmg thats way easier to land within a less skillful envelope as trying to land meteor/glyph, less cooldown, all while having 2 invulns and abilities to support your group. There is no comparison. Staff ele for wvw is dead imo.
