Is there any way to make S/P work for HoT open world solo?

 

I know that they removed EVADE on Sword 3 which sucks.

 

Any tips?

S/P still has evade, idk where you are getting your info, unless it is a joke post. I use S/P for open world.

What I meant to say is that Pistol Whip EVADE is removed.

 

Isn't it removed? I know I heard that somewhere..

Pistol Whip does not mention the evade in its tooltip, both in the wiki and ingame. If you use the skill frequently, you know about the evade. The wiki also informs about it in the very important, but often ignored, **Notes** in the bottom of the article.

As for the actual question, yes, sword main is passable for open world content (albeit clearly inferior to dd staff). HoT isn't as much about your build as it is knowing general mechanics of the game. Break breakbars, dodge indicated attacks, and you're dandy most of the expansion.
