Drecien.4508
So i was watching a guy on youtube gamble ectos in the new casino on one of the preview weekends and he got on of these, if you watch him, he hovers over it and you pause it says it makes a 25 slot bag. so that part is loaded into the tooltip already... hope this helps. Just checked a video - it does *not* say "25 slot", it says "larger bags", just like the text on the wiki linked above.

Larger bags meaning not more items simply bigger ones. ;)

"Introducing - new, larger, 40 slot bags! So big they take up **two** of your bag slots! ;) Well, in seriousness, I do expect the new bags to be 25 slots. It seems the logical size, doesn't it? 2/6 standard bags (not counting the really odd 6 slot one) are in multiples of 5.
Manasa Devi.7958
There's also 8, 12 and 18 slot bags, all common crafting options. If you count the 4 slot early story reward bags, there are just as many bags that aren't a multiple of 5.
Tanner Blackfeather.6509
Hmh, you're right, I'd forgotten 8 & 12... Then I guess 22 or 24 are possible, too.
Boogiepop Void.6473
I hope it's an even number. The only way I can keep track of where my invisible bags are is to line things up at exactly 10/row. If it's 25/bag there won't be a good way to do this. rapthorne.7345
I'm never going to complain about more bag space potential. PS. Please increase character bag slot limits, ANet D:
MithranArkanere.8957
I wonder how you'd use those runes. Disciplines over level 450+ and crafting with ascended materials? Using the rune like an upgrade on existing bags?
Justine.6351
I'm not sure they will actually be worth it. Maybe as some completion type goal but nothing more.
Aurelian Omenkind.2470
I got one of those echo gambling during the 1st preview weekend. I was annoyed they hadn't activated the crafting recipe for it too. I suspect it'll require ascended mats and a 500 craft to make it. Bags should easily hit 300g if they're tradable at all. Gah. "Inventory Wars" is right.
Daddicus.6128
It will be a stab in the back if they don't allow 20-slot bags to be upgraded to whatever the new peak number is. I strongly support larger bags, but not if we have to buy them again, making our existing piles of bags worthless. That would be a complete betrayal, considering how much real money I've spent getting them (and bag slot expansions to put them into.

No other bag is upgradable. 18-slot bags still sell for crafting costs on TP, a lot of people are perfectly fine with them. Given the likely cost of these, you'll have no problems selling your old 20-slots (unless you use account bound ones of course, I do hope they offer some kind of refund/upgrade option for the Fractal and WvW bags!) Zephyra.4709
I've been looking forward to larger bag space. A shame I've dunked a lot of gold on candy corn cobs for the halloween pales haha.
Orpheal.8263
It could also just end up in a Rune needed to finally upgrade our silly BEGINNER RUCKSACKS to become bigger, so that we can upgrade them with this Rune to say for example ADVENTURER RUCKSACKS ,which have then not anymore a capacitiy of just only 20 Slots, but then 40 Slots. That would be imo also awesome and would explain to me also, why this stuff costs so much, when it is a 1 time only per Character thing to upgrade our Rucksacks finally. ____ Origin of Elite Specializations a.k.a Sub Classes through the CDI lead by Chris Whiteside ____

You are correct that bags are not upgradeable. However, that's irrelevant to me. GW1 had runes you could use to upgrade bag sizes. There's really no excuse for not adding it to GW2 if they're already spending a lot of dev effort creating new bags.

And, I'm OK with it costing a lot. To go from 18 slots to 20 slots cost 8 gold and some tier 6 materials. Going up another 5 slots should cost at least that, and probably even more. But, a recipe would be a really cool way to do it.
CETheLucid.3964
It would be neat if we could upgrade some of the rare bags some of us have, like the original 10-slot Trick or Treat bag, Soldier's Duffel, etc

There's really no excuse for not adding it to GW2 if they're already spending a lot of dev effort creating new bags. GW1 Rune of Holding upgraded two 5-slot bags to 10-slot, while not doing anything to the backpack or belt pouch. They were really just a minor speedbump toward max inventory. Seeing as both the rune and the base bags were dirt cheap it's pretty far from GW2s bag system.

See my later post: I'm in favor of making us pay for the slots as they should be, like 10 gold a slot or something. But, I don't want to have to throw away the 100ish 20-slot bags I have now. Samnang.1879
If it costs more than 20g to craft, it's not worth it... Also I have bad luck when it comes to gambling so I'm not doing that ish again.
