Are you going to purchase the 3rd expansion?

I’ve grouped them by the type of request, and obviously paraphrased rather than quoting (because that got too messy). Where one request contradicts another that’s usually (but not always) because they’re from different people.

And strike a balance between hardcore content and accessible content and make sure the expansion is solo-friendly and the maps don’t have too many enemies. Make sure there’s plenty to keep us coming back to the expansion maps.

No more saving innocents or world leaders, it should focus on us defeating enemies. But not too quickly or easily, and they need more build-up. The story must also be more mature, but not too dark or serious.

And revert the condition meta. Also fix the balance. And make game mechanics more complex, but without gimmicks. And reduce the number of visual effects on skills. And stop adding masteries and elite specs.

Hmm, I am a probably yes, but significant parts of what you list would be off-putting for me.

Hey I'm not saying Anet should, or could, do any part of this. It's just what other people have asked for in this topic. (As you may have noticed they couldn't do all of it if they wanted to, because some parts contradict others - like adding more elite specs, but also scrapping elite specs and masteries.)

(My only condition, so far, is that I want to know what I'm getting and what it costs. So far we don't even know for sure there will be a 3rd expansion, we just assume there will be because they've done 2 so far and haven't said otherwise.)

Sorry, didnt mean for that to come across as critical of you. Just kind of musing over the idea of development by crowd input.

I am absolutely with you on this one. Regarding underwater content Anet have laid a pretty good foundation, but there are enough flaws in it that would require quite a bit of work to make it as entertaining as it could be. An expansion would certainly justify that sort of effort going into this aspect of the game, and some skills and profession mechanics that we already have and are not all that good in underwater combat (or do not even have an underwater version for inexplicable reasons) would certainly get a more thorough examination than in a scenario where you can avoid underwater situations almost everywhere.

I will most likely buy due to momentum. I haven't been all that happy with the story's choppy character writing. Or with the encounter designs and their CC/KD fetish.

My motivation seems to be winding down, even with a new expansion, because almost all of my goals still involve waiting for some once/2hr meta. Maybe it's just Istan that's not all that enjoyable, kinda middling as far as expansions zones are concerned. The new weapon collections are meh, and they still haven't figured out how to do achievements properly for story instances.

And then I'm not sure what kind of masteries they can even include. We have all the "joy of movement" we really need (and it's glorious~). While this set of elite specs is more interesting than most of HoT's, adding yet another set is just going to make some people whine all the more anyway.

Yes, because GW(2), especially the Asura and Charr, are the first franchise where I really want to be at.

My brother is StarWars and Dragonball fan, my cousin likes Final Fantasy, the other guy every Zelda or Halo, and for me it's GW2.

To me a game is like a buffet. I've been to many hotels and the quality of the buffet is the most important. How good is the meal I can get? Are the ingredients fresh? Is it rich? Can I "build" my plate as I want it to be with fancy stuff of all sorts or can't I really choose and have to arrange myself with what's there?

In GW2, I created the perfect character for me and that's a mix of what aNet gives and what I can optionally choose: My Zedexx, Asura Deadeye wearing clothes and gear that totally fits him, riding on a beautiful mount, having skills that I totally love to use, characters beautifully voiced in German (also Taimi and Rytlock) in an environment that has many different directions to go story-wise and clever, mature writing, it adds up to a great experience. **And when stuff's good, I am going to stay and pay.**

Excelsior.

Yes, this is the only MMO I'll play...unless ArenaNet comes out with GW3, but otherwise I won't hesitate to purchase. Nor do I care if people I know continue to play because this almost acts like a single-player game populated with other people(other than the meta events that require multiple people to complete). I enjoy the PoF map far more that HoT, heck, I even completed the story on two characters where as those same two characters did not finish HoT...just left the last mission incomplete.

The mounts will make the next expansion difficult to build, i reckon. They’ll need to build areas which negate the mounts otherwise we will just chew through the content too quickly. But then we are losing our hard earned mounts.

They also need to build it in a way it can be played without mounts or a glider if they are going to follow the same route that each expansion can be bought and played separately.

Not sure how they will do this except an underwater expansion or push us down into old school dungeon tunnels.

> Nope, mainly because the game mode I mainly play (WvW) has lost too many people. That and it's not a good sign when the HoT expansion has more players than PoF. .

HoT gave WvW;

An entire new map (generally regarded as a bit of a flop although I, personally, like it very much),

and Huge guild claiming and improvement systems (generally regarded as a huge success).

PoF gave WvW;

OP classes,

and a horrible meta (which feels as though nobody was thinking of WvW when designing the classes),

and nothing else.

WvW was entirely ignored in terms of content this time around, and the meta suffers from decisions that didn't include well thought through design. Is it any wonder that WvW players claim to be second class citizens?

While I appreciate that some people want Anet to keep WvW in at least maintenance mode, I can understand why others have a policy of refusing to fund them at all - and that's why my answer, at the moment, is no.

Probably not. I played GW1 and was a major fanboy. GW2 while an interesting game has never felt like a sequel to GW1. The controlled economy, the legendary loot model, the lack of any fat loot (I really miss the charge from getting a Black Dye), collections = kill ten rats on steroids, RNG Mystic Forge, RNG salvage, RNG boxes inside boxes, RNG= 10,400 hours and no precursor, Just plain RNG, never ending additional currencies, the same type of items some sale able some account bound, Hearts that must be redone (that's not content it's busy work) are all reasons I'll probably not buy the next expac.

I didn't spend any cash on the game for about 2 years all the while feeling a little guilty for not supporting the game I played. So recently I bought 25 keys thinking I get a couple Tyrian Vouchers. I didn't so dumped some gold into the exchange and bought 10 more keys, still no 2nd voucher. Then I realized I wasn't having fun and hadn't in quite some time. I do the dailies like I'm punched in at work. The game is a regular source of aggravation, so no I'll probably not buy the next expac
