Art Issues: Characters, Weapons, Armor - [Merged]

Recommended Posts

i am very sure, if a cm read this, he can check out Yubéi Yagyú. also on other forums people complained about the outfit cannot be died correctly. so its probably still the issue, i dont know if they posted it here. and i dont think infusions would matter at all, if other outfits can be dyed correctly, why only this one not? it wouldnt make any sense. so if it would be a problem caused by graphics, it would be all outfits together and not only one.

here on redit i found something, probably its still the same bug, people should prefer writing here in the gw2 forum, so it can be fixed. they chose the wrong forum for that.

in the preview, it show you exactly how you wanna have the outfit, but if you apply it, you get greenish colors. the only color that work somehow is blue and green, all other are not working.

Item : Seven Reapers Longbow Skin

Race : Human

Gender : Female

Class : Ranger

Description:

Finally got my hands on the Seven Reapers Longbow Skin that I have been after, used my 3 Claim Tickets,

but was disappointed to see that unlike all my other bow skins this one hangs in mid-air a good foot off my back and not flush like all the others.

Rising Banners of the Sunspear (possibly Prince Rurik's Vanguard Cape)

**Description**

While adjusting my skins and colors I was going back and forth between the wardrobe and dyes menus and at one point while changing the back item it's preview wasn't displayed on the back anymore but below my feet.

I think right before this happened I looked at the preview of Prince Rurik's Vanguard Cape, opened the dye menu, didn't see the back item's color slots and reset the preview. On the lower left of the screenshot there is a glowing square which I believe to be the missing color slots.

After going back to the wardrobe, selecting Prince Rurik's Vanguard Cape again and opening the dye menu the color slots and the back item were displayed correctly.

Maguuma’s Treads

**Description**

The runes on the treads do not seem to dye the same way as the Maguuma’s Mantle and Grasp. Those two take the dye and color the entire rune, whereas the Treads end up more like the default green with a slight tinge of the dye color. The shimmer effect that appears occasionally across the treads does take the dye correctly, however.

Jora's Outfit presses the chest of the female model, looks very bad..

As a gem item bought for money it's very poorly done..

Confirmed on other human classes to be same.

Did see someone else have it on (I think a tiny norn) and it looked fine.

Sex: Female

Prof: Revenant

EDIT: In a Total Makeover Kit I can clearly see that this ONLY apply to one of all female bodytypes. The first section bottom left body.

Pauldrons with animation axis on the Charr model.

**Description**

Dunno what to call it, pauldrons on Charr that are affected by animations, not the fixed pauldrons that don't move at all.

Old animation issue, the left pauldron, if affected by the model's animation will always be lined with the arm, showing clipping issues.

However doesn't affect the model when doing anything that is not standing still.

The Juvenile Hawk wing folding animation is broken, and is inherited by some bird NPCs.

Shame to see after 2 YEARS this still has not been fixed.

Doesn't bode well for the Seven Reapers longbow I reported last month.

Item: Barbaric armor (also Pit Fighter and likely Flamewrath)

Race: Norn

Gender: Male

Class: N/A (Warrior)

Description:

There are multiple clipping issues with the classic barbaric armor on a medium physique male norn. This is unfortunate since it seems the artists worked hard to make this armor is quite detailed.

The worse clipping issue is on the lower back when running carrying a weapon such as a rifle. There is a shuttering clipping issue. It is hard to screen capture because it blinks rapidly. I captured it as best as possible and it is attached in the first image. It is a distracting clipping issue. This area also clips more extremely when doing certain skills such as the "smash the pinata" animation at dragon bash.

The next clipping issue is with the band that wraps around under the arm. When drawing a great sword or when the male norn does his idle arm stretch animation, the band clips into the side of the character model. See the second and third attached photos. There is a similar issue with the Pit Fighter armor (and therefore likely the Gem Store Flamewrath armor) as well. Resolving these issues would be wonderful as both the Pit Fighter and Barbaric chest pieces are some of the few more realistic armor sets that complement norn tattoo ascetics.

The next clipping issue is with the barbaric armor legplates. This is the least worst offender and most likely most difficult to remedy since there needs to be a specific environmental interaction for the clipping to occur, specifically a raised leg (although only very slightly) on uneven terrain. Instead of the "skirt" extending with the leg, the leg just clips through it. See the fourth attached image.

I understand that this may be "low priority" and may require more resources to resolve than what are available, but I wanted to direct (re-direct?) attention to the issue as this is not a clipping issue caused by player creativity when mixing armor pieces but rather the issue occurring in the "vanilla" form of these armor sets.

Problem: Wardrobe skins and toon genders

Race, Sex, and Profession: All

Issue relates to clothing/armor/weapons and gender

All of my toons appear to be correct on my computer screen. However, on other peoples screens both armor and weapon skins are incorrect. Some toons even appear as the wrong sex. I have now submitted 4 tickets in over a month. I have spent $100's on my toon skins. PLEASE fix or refund me ALL of my money!

i had experienced that seeing friends as generic models, and my friend seeing me as a generic model. the fix for us was to set (Graphics Options) Character Model Quality to Highest and Character Model Limit to anything other than Lowest.

If it's on PvP/WvW set (General Options) Standard Enemy Models and Standard Friendly Models to Disabled and Team Colours to None

EDIT: unfortunately if others, like strangers on the openworld/cities, have set every settings possible to Low/Lowest (and standard models set) there will be that one person who'll always see you as that generic black shadow person with generic armour

you're welcome!

though it's not a perfect fix though since like i said, others (your non-friends) can/may still see you as the generic model if they have things set to lowest and it's not like you can tell everybody in town to set the things to Highest or Ultra lol =)

GW2 is the only MMORPG im aware of that does this and i believe it's their way to help potato/toaster computers run the game (it's not the best solution but it's what they made.... other games like FF14/Archeage/StarwarsTOR/WoW/etc.etc. will show everyone as what they really are albeit just low/hi res depending on settings)

The juggernaut have the same issue today, please fix it. Spend a lot of time to craft it, and I think the legendary itens need some attention.

**Item:** Masquerade Raiments

**Race:** Sylvari, possibly more but observed on sylvari primarily

**Profession:** Necromancer

**Gender:** Female

**Description:** The sleeves of the armor on the upper arm have a really bad (what I assume is) skeleton issue when the character's arms are raised, leaving huge texture tearing where a part of the sleeves are still connected to the body while the rest follows the arms. It's very obvious and very jarring to see, since it's always visible while making any kind of movement (ie., running, combat).

> **Description**: The Flame Legion Coat skin (Medium armour) now hides the gloves you are wearing and instead shows the matching glove skin for that set. The Archon Coat skin has the same issue.

Same here. Exasperated after trying to use it with other gloves.

Item: Sun-Blessed Vision (The new head slot cosmetic acquired from the annual achievement);

Race: Asura/All Races (Asura is featured in the screenshot, confirmed to be a problem on humans as well. I believe it's safe to assume this happens to all races);

Profession: Light/All Professions (Same as with races, light elementalist is featured in the screenshot, but confirmed on other professions and weights as well);

Sex: Female/All (A female asura is in the screenshot, every other character that confirmed the issue, coincidentally, happened to be female. I'm about 97.5% sure this is an issue on males as well);

Problem: The Sun-Blessed Vision cosmetic has drastically different glow intensity in the wardrobe and preview windows compared to the in-world appearance, to the point where the in-world appearance can become a deal-breaker, which is the case for my outfit. The asura I plan(ned?) to use it on is the best, most visible example of this issue thanks to the size of her eyes. To the left is the wardrobe tab, in the center is the in-world appearance. If you would be so kind, I would appreciate a fix to this problem that will make the in-world version just as bright as the preview/wardrobe one.
