Just stay in one map (Crystal Oasis is the best, in my opinion) and pick two or three of the easy to get to locations to hop between. Also, ask in map chat if anyone sees the chest up. I'm sorry you're having trouble. Maybe it's time for a new approach. I found 14 (nine for me, five to help others) of the C-Skritt by parking a toon at a **single** spawn location. In between activities, during downtime, or sometimes right before logoff or right after login, I'd swap to the toon. If the chest was visible, I'd call out in /map, pop the mentor tag, and wait for people to gather. If it wasn't, I looked for Bags of Loot — if visible, you can follow them to the final chest and that will drop the required item (you don't need event credit).
