tanf.8917
Like mounts, make it unlockable through masteries. Make it it's own profession. You can unlock weapons/armors and builds for it throught masteries, that way anet wont need to adjust all the armor in the game for one race since it will have it's own. really you can come up with endless masteries for it. I just think that if we have any chance of getting this race i think through masteries would be the best option. we already have the models, too. what do you think? lokh.2695
May I redirect your request to already existing Tengu NAO!!! thread just half a page below this one. https://en-forum.guildwars2.com/discussion/47145/a-new-race
Vavume.8065
If they ever add Tengu or any other race it will be through an expac. It could be possible that they use masteries to unlock it at that point.
BlaqueFyre.5678
No, another race is not necessary or needed.
Randulf.7614
Unlocking a race through masteries is inappropriate and makes absolutely no sense at all. The mastery system is about introducing new abilities/skills for our character as a form of progression. Unlocking a race, entirely separate from our character does not fall under that category. There is precisely zero chance of unlocking a race that way as far as I can see. If they want to add a new race, they'll just add a new race via an expansion and do it properly. If they wanted to do it half hearted, then they already have the tonics (see Kodan) to do that.
Maikimaik.1974
I don't want them to ever add a new race. I'm so used to only seeing the current races, any other playable race would just look out of place to me.
Tasida.4085
I prefer the 250 yr old Tengu look as opposed to the 1 in the game now. I wouldn't mind the old Tyrian Tengu as a new race.
Trise.2865
Never happening. Tengu will never let you ride them.
Dreadshow.9320
I hope if they introduce tengu everytime you try to cross or port to the shiverpeaks you are instead ported to maguuma, orr or elona as a migratory trait.

Illconceived Was Na.9781
It's an intriguing idea, but it solves none of the issues that currently prevent a new race from being added to the game.
aspirine.5839
People are so obsessed with this big bird race :) It will look stupid imo, would be like a flock of chicken if you have a few together.
crashburntoo.7431
At first, I thought this was a request to have the Tengu added as heroes through a Mastery line. Enabled for dungeon and story instance content only. I could see that, possibly with fees per use as a mercenary for hire type of approach. The Mastery line could even be added to Core Tyria along with several more Mastery points attached to associated achievements and geographical commune points. It would be an interesting way to introduce heroes, mechanically and thematically, but the background work would still be substantial.
