Dragonsblood Vision Item 50 Gold Replacement Cost

When you make the exotic version it unlocks a collection to do all these tasks. That collection gives you an item to make the ascended version. Everything is fair all the way through to making the Heroic ascended versions.

 

However, the item you get from the collection costs way too much to replace. 50 gold for that piece is way too much considering all the usual materials you need to make ascended weapons. If you don't want to make the ascended weapon right away you basically have to take up inventory space (up to 16 items for all weapons) if you don't want to have to pay 50 gold each later.

 

Please reduce the replacement cost for these to something like a gold, Brand Masses and a Vision Crystal.

or simply give it a vendor price of 50g. There are already items like that from PoF.

50g is way too extreme for how simple it is to get these.

So the first vision you get for a weapon type is free but getting a second costs 50g? Seems a bit steep. A Zojja's dagger costs 47g at the moment I this effectively doubles the cost of making the ascended weapon.

 

Can you make a normal ascended weapon using the ascended Inscription?

A steelstars greatbow is listed on wiki, but no source on the recipe.

Ive looked around, it appears the dragonsblood weapons is the only way so far to craft one.

There is an item you get when you complete the achievements associated with the 100 brand mass costing item. That item is needed to make the ascended weapon. If you want to make another or lose that item, the replacement cost if 50 gold. Yes its unnecessarily steep. If this was intended Anet is basically saying that a vision crystal is worth 50 gold.

Answer to your question: Yes! It's cheaper to make a normal ascended and re-skin for a second one.
