SpinDashMaster.5680
Aren't we at the two week cadence point? Shouldn't there be a patch today? Are we not also overdue for a balance patch? Last major one was December 12.
The Ace.9105
Next balance patch probably in 2 weeks. EDIT: ah nvm 1 week.
Mikali.9651
a bit of snow fell, it is dangerous outside. Balance patch will maybe come next week with a mount, or not.
Randulf.7614
The two week cadence has never been set in stone, esp given they will be a bit behind due to the weather. We know there will be a patch next week though and according to the announcements, it will include a balance pass

Psycoprophet.8107
Why not release the patch notes week or two before their implemented so feedback on them can be reviewed through players feedback and any tweaks could be considered before release

Wouldn't want to publish changes that then don't happen?

Wouldn't want to publish changes that then don't happen? That and unless the changes are _very_ minor (as in reducing the cool down on a skill to 25 seconds instead of 30 seconds) there won't be anything they can do about it in a week. The obvious answer to that is releasing the draft patch notes sooner, but then we're even further into Anet having to announce things which are not confirmed and may not happen in that update, or at all. Or announcing something they would realise all on their own is a bad idea, but now they've announced it and people are going to react to it even if it's removed by the actual release. Should be clear by now.
Psycoprophet.8107
Nah it works far better than just doing a balance patch changing a bunch of things than when PLAYERS that actually kno the game and it’s mechanics find exploits regarding the changes and than takes forever for things to get fixed.warframe for one example Almost all major changes have a feedback thread of the proposed changes and almost alway tweaks are made before release due to players informing DE of exploits that will occur if changes are done the way they initially planned. There is usually always very good information given to DE as whether buffs or nerfs are inadequate or too far etc. The few nagatives for doing such a thing is far more outweighed by the advantages and also creates a feeling of the community being part of the process which brings about a lot of gamers loyalty to a developer. In so many threads the question does arenet balance team play their own game comes up, maybe this would help through the communications with players that play pvp modes regularly and combining their thoughts with arenet balance team might become more effective at balancing the game. I’m sure their professional enough to weed out ridiculous ideas from players and make take in ideas that are closer to their vision.
