The OP's screenshot shows he is looking in Central Tyria 'Parties' for HoT events. Seems a bit odd; no wonder he can't find what he is looking for.

**Wrong.** Copy the address manually, then paste it into your browser's address field and press Enter - the URL is working perfectly fine, I visited it before I made my previous post.

During prime hours there are enough people to fill 1 meta map, maybe 2, that's only a few hundred people. The fractal and raid community is old, stale, and toxic since pugs expect you to be a skilled veteran at this point. Pvp and Wvw have been sitting in their grave for a long time. In pvp you face the same players every single game, the active population is incredibly low. In wvw most servers are empty the majority of the day, with a few guilds logging on each night for a couple hours. Nothing on the horizon is going to bring in new players, people can hope for season 5 to add some much needed change to this game but if you are expecting anything more than what season 3 or 4 did you will probably be disappointed.

To be fair, I ran into the same problem. Mine wasn't as extreme as the OP.

There have been quite a few times HOT events were LFG for the area was empty. Even when their were 30+ people at the boss.

I have noticed a lot less people doing HOT events. I also found it rather difficult to do one of the group events for the griffon, because nobody was doing it. We literally had to get three people from three guilds and include LFG and map chat to get a group big enough to complete that portion. I think they should balance or adjust old mount requirements for this reason.

That being said, new maps seem fine. The new events, which are a wonderful addition, do seem to make LFG a sparse. To be honest, I think LFG itself needs a UI update.

I think it entirely depends on the time of day or whatever is going on in game. A few weeks ago I was working on Aurora and was able to finish the Wayfarer's Henge collections without even really needing LFG at all. Doesn't seem dead to me. Though we've also had quite a few events back to back to back with the meta event rush, Dragon Bash, and the World Boss rush that's probably pulled people away from other content. I certainly remember the Hologram Stampedes being near impossible to tag due to the sheer number of people.

I do agree that the LFG UI could use some fixing though, even if it's just making subcategories for the different maps under an expansion/season....or just an LFG for a whole season since it's not like there are tons of lfgs for, like, sirens landing or anything.

Your screenshot is from Core Tyria parties not Verdant Brink. Try the proper option and you'll find at least one squad available when the meta is active.

I guess when you've only been in game 15 days...

I would also hazard a guess the OP power boosted to endgame.. que, endgame is dead, raids too hard.. and from a player who has been a fan since GW1 start up.. guess he a got a 7 yr itch and came to GW2 to scratch it finally.

If anything I would of thought being a stalwart GW1 player it might of taught the OP to be patient, learn a bit about the game and its mechanics not just jump right in and expect miracles to happen, but hey ho :)

As I said, one of the funnier "dead game" threads I've read this week.. and with a nice title change as well :)

OP states: "2 months after HOT was out,i had all hot achivs (almost all) and 130 mastery level."

OP also states "15 days into game" and "boosted character"

It's difficult to tell what is truly the case.

Lol VB isn't dead if you get to it at reset or even hours afterwards. People camp at Matriarch 15 min before Nighttime in order to get the ag.

Remember to check /wiki ET

And always arrive 15-30 min prior (depending on the meta, some even 35 minutes prior like TD)

You'll understand the times better the more you do the events.

However if you arrive into AB immediately AT nighttime, good luck defeating any of the bosses, may as well just sit at TD at that point.

For TD’s meta it is generally safe to arrive 10 minutes prior as that’s when everyone who did the casino meta hops over.

For VB, you can leave an alt up there and log in within a minute of it spawning. That’s what I do often as I do the Forged meta in Vabbi which completes around :08 on average.

For AB, you can generally join a group between 10-15 min without issue. I haven’t personally tried to join during the 10 min leading up to it though.

The Verdant Brink tab is 4 down. It's the one which is named: **Verdant Brink**.

Good Luck.

VB night time is usually pretty empty and has been long before stuff like WBR existed. Organized runs still occurs from time to time. The rewards are simply not worth the 45 minutes it takes.

People get really touchy at the mention that certain maps are dead so they'll ignore what you type or say "there's loads of people" (when there isn't) or use LFG. Of course, during peak time this is not really an issue but not everyone has the luxury of being able to play at certain times. Lots of people are in PoF meta events... meta event copy & paste formulas that give mass rewards of minimal value. Unfortunately with so many meta events, the hardest or most annoying ones tend to be ignored when peak time passes.

I need 150 crystalline ore, but sadly, after spending 15 minutes desparately trying to get into the only Dragon's Stand meta event, I was left wondering why ArenaNet made Dragon Stand 100% group only with no solo events. I can't actually get the Wanderer's recipes I need because of this design. Sadly because of the one-currency-per-map approach, this sort of thing happens. It causes a situation where people are locked out of map completion, achievements, certain event rewards, etc. If you can get on at peak time that is fine but there have been countless instances whereby, due to map capacity, I cannot join populated maps doing an event because I didn't get there first. In the end, it just creates a big waiting game (if you're unlucky like me).

Really, I think that GW2 needed some AI groups, like GW1.

Play at 'X' time for game to function at all, kinda sucks tbh. It's an issue that is engrained into GW2 HoT maps, less so with PoF.

So even if legit noone is playing you can open 9 every 2 hours.

Which equates to maybe 9 per day for me, assuming I miss filled maps. It's okay, I'm just going to change my armour stats to Soldier's instead. Anyway, it isn't about me, this is OPs thread, not mine. I was just sharing my common experience regarding off-peak dead events that are severely crippled by iffy map design.

9 per character and each contains at least 1 ore

I disagree, it's always busy when I'm there, which is reasonably often. It's not all about rewards, there are AP's and collections, map completion and always HP requests and just good old fun with some rewards to fill ya boots with.

IMO it's always useful to keep topping map currency as well.... never know when they might come in handy.... cough skyscale .... cough
