Gop.8713
No, the explorer cheeves aren't back, BUT I did notice something today. I did these a lot back when they were first introduced bc they're a lot of fun but I stopped doing them bc there wasn't really any point to them. Then I hit one today by accident and it gave me a little counter that indicated how many little volatile magic nodes I had left to hit before I got them all. I don't remember that being there before. Does anyone know if it's new . . ?
Ayrilana.1396
It’s not new. This is what was supposed to happen when they didn’t bug out.
Blocki.4931
It's been there for a while. Maybe one patch after the Skyscale was introduced? Either way, it's to tell you whether it did activate or not
Ayrilana.1396
This was available immediately after unlocking the mastery that enabled it so this likely came with the episode.
Gop.8713
it's only the little counter that I didn't remember . . .
Sir Alric.5078
I don't understand how this works. I activate one rift and then follow the trail of volatile magic to another rift that i can't interact with. Is that normal? :/
Gop.8713
We don't really know, but yes probably. These rifts were apparently so fatally bugged anet removed the associated cheeves without comment, but left the rifts in the game for us to wonder about. But as near as I can tell other than the cheeves they're just there for the magic, and the little prize at the end which you should usually get when you hit the last rift. It's something small like a mistborn mote. If you're not getting it every time it might be part of the bug, or might not, there is no way for us to know . . . The achievements are all taken out of the game including ones you may have completed. Without any notice on it btw.
LucianDK.8615
The rifts are good sources of volatile magic, and makes it easy to reach the daily cap. VM have so many valuable uses.
Linken.6345
I seem to get 1 dragonfall resource mote when I get to the last rift aswell.
Eloc Freidon.5692
Its a buggy mess they still haven't fixed. They're supposed to work the first time with the counter to get the Dragonfall resource at the end.
Aaralyna.3104
Did someone actually check if it may be working now? Since the last times I flew in one I always got a Mistborn Mote. So I basically miss the achievements back in game lol
Tarlonniel.6534
It's not working 100% reliably. I love these rifts and use them as part of my leveling process now; about nine times out of ten they'll trigger properly the first time, but there's still the one in ten that won't work, so I go back and wait for the rift to respawn and then tag it again. It always works the second time.
Perisemiotics.4579
If you're doing these rifts purely for XP and VM I'd recommend the Skimmer route instead, in Thunderhead Keep.
Ayrilana.1396
There’s also above Jahai which should have enough to get you to the daily cap
