Gop.8713 Posted December 8, 2019 Share Posted December 8, 2019 If it released Tuesday and ran for the typical three weeks then it would end on NYE, while it normally runs into the next year. If it releases on the 17th that only gives it a week before Christmas which would be shorter than normal. It's just a consequence of how the calendar falls this year. Danikat.8537 Posted December 8, 2019 Share Posted December 8, 2019 Updates are always on a Tuesday and in previous years the earliest it's started is the 10th and the latest is the 16th. So either next Tuesday (10th) or a week later on the 17th. The end date is a lot harder to predict, because it's previously been as early as the 2nd, and as late as the 21st January. (I'm hoping for an early start and/or late finish. If it started on the 17th and ended on the 2nd I'd only have 4 or 5 evenings I could play it at all, which is going to make it difficult to get much done.) If it does start December 17th I hope it last until January 7th. Wintersday is one of my favourite GW2 festivals and I'd hate to miss most of it, but I couldn't change my plans even if I wanted to.
