Firebeard.1746
Finding a squad is really annoying when half of the ones you apply for are full. Having been on the commander side of this, it's not obvious if the map is full and when it is (a ton of people aren't zoning in), soemtimes you're too busy fighting something/explaining mechanics to delist. Can we please get an auto-delist feature for when the commander's instance is full, the group automatically delists from LFG and they can't relist until the instance has slots? Rasimir.6239
Since the game has no way of knowing if the squad listed intends to stay on the same map or go to another, auto-delist has just as many disadvantages as it has advantages. Imagine a multi-map bounty squad or a wvw mobile squad. Even if they currently are on a full map, those commanders want people to join in advance so they don't have to go through the whole advertising thingy again once they switch map. At the same time people may want to join a squad on a full map on the chance of getting to said map in a few minutes, since there's always fluctuation in map population. Inculpatus cedo.9234
If the squad is not full, and the Commander is looking for more, wouldn't they have the bothersome issue of having to check if they can relist every few seconds?
Solvar.7953
And depending what is causing the map to become full, it may become not full in short order. I know there are squads that run the HoT maps in series - while the event is going on, map is full, but space opens up afterward, and one can then follow to the next map also. It would probably be useful for the game to at least inform the commander of the squad that the map is full, so they can then decide if they want to delist, try to go to another map, etc.
MikeG.6389
The LFG functionality and the population of any given map don't exactly mesh with each other, I don't think... What I do think is that the responsibility to remove the squad from LFG when the map becomes full falls on the commander.
borgs.6103
It auto de-lists if the squad's full. Or if you mean if the map's full, that has no interaction with the squad's capacity. The people in the squad could be scattered all around Tyria.
Firebeard.1746
Well but to play devil's advocate, there are plenty of squads that are literally created for a particular event or map (such as Halloween Lab, Drakkar/east meta) there should be a way to declare that you don't intend to move your squad around to make things easier for the finder and people looking for groups for a particular event. Hashberry.4510
In cases where maps are in demand but the current map is soft capped, I leave it listed but label it full, so people can try to get in if they wish. Of course, people have to plan on getting to an event early if they want a map with no hassle. Meta train hopping is fun, but you take your chances. Antycypator.9874
Because squads are not only for taxi people. Sometimes it's possible to get onto full map, because someone just left or got DC'd, so there's one free slot.
