    > You need to have an idea of what you want to achieve, but all the stat options, runes, sigils etc are there to choose from. You can also choose which game mode, as some traits and skills work differently in competitive environments (Mirage only having one dodge in wvw, for example). You can also get a chatlink to copy your build into your acct-build storage or a tab on your character. What it won't do, however, is give you any sort of skill rotation or usage priority.

Someone sent me an ingame chat about that same site. I played around with it and certainly looks promising.

  2. Is there a site where I can plug in what class I'm playing and the weapons I want to use to show a list of builds I would benefit from.

I use Snow Crows and Metabattle as primary sources for finding great builds that have been tested and graded by players.

However, I'm a primary PvE player who may just like to look of the axe over mace or dagger over sword for my character. Or I have just crafted an Ascended/Legendary weapon I want to max out using, but the build doesn't call for that weapon. At that point I'm more into the roleplaying/costume of the character, but I still want a build that doesn't suck or get me killed all the time.

  3. Crafting for profit is not a short-term deal. At least what I've experienced and read about.

Look at gw2efficiency.com for what recipes sell the best. Armor and weapons would be the most obvious choice, but look into the high end components.

You may find it more profitable to sell mats or crafting components.

  4. How about a necro/ranger/mesmer that could reanimate/charm adversaries them into fighting for you? They could be added in Utility slots 2-4 to be brought to battle once you have defeated one. A champion, like the hylek flopper would only be added to the elite skill slot.

I know it sound too much like just adding current MM skills, but ... just imagine a hoard of jungle raptors swarming your foes at your command. Or a hylek flopper interrupting (hard CC) with an amazing belly flop!

  5. Great post. B)

I believe the "*" additions were possibilities of one of the three not to add all three at once. I'm sure someone already brought that up.

When deciding which weapon to assign to the new elite specialization, look at what past practice has shown and the "Weapon usability by professions"

[https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Weapon#Weapon_usability_by_professions](https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Weapon#Weapon_usability_by_professions). Focus on the far-right column where it shows the number of professions + elites that can use that specific weapon.

Each new elite specialization unlocks a weapon not previously available. I would avoid those which are already unlocked for an elite twice or staff /sword which are usable by 7 and 8 professions respectively.

I believe the Thief is the best example of how to expand a core profession. First, they rolled out a melee fighter in the Daredevil: in close and brutal. Then the Deadeye expanded its range to the max. Each profession (with elites) should be able to enter combat either in melee-range or long-range with the supporting skills to add flavor.

    I do like the concepts.

I would like to see the Revenant or Necromancer gain access to pistols (short-/mid-range) or Rifle (mid-/long-range).

Thanks for thinking of bringing the traditionally off-hand weapons to the main-hand or dual-wielding scepters.

  6. I've been looking for a video/tutorial on how to get the most out of gw2efficiency.com.

I've found plenty on what it is and how it can help players, but not a thing on how a player can maximize it's use.

There's so much the site does and I only know how to scratch the surface.

I would like to see the historical price of certain materials (preferably in a line graph).

  7. I know what you're going through. Just be glad there are multiple ways to craft each Legendary. The "Gift of Desert/Maguuma" Mastery used to be exclusive to when the Legendary came out.

I was working on the Central Tyria track before I realized I needed a bunch more for Legendary Crafting that I had spent on Fractal Attunement (which I would rarely use).

I found the hardest/longest part to be the Gift of Battle in WvW. Now, even before I'm thinking about crafting my next shiny Legendary, I'm gathering those things that take the most time. Now, I have a "spare" Gift of Battle, half the crystalline ingots I need, and I'm slowly storing 30,000+ Elder Logs/Mithril ore for the next one.

The experience will come as you gather everything you need. Maintain consumable Experience Boosters, take advantage of events that maximize track participation, and you'll have what you need in ... 2-3 years. :o

  8. You may want to do a Test Run within your own Guild to see how it goes, iron it out, and formalize the rules/penalties.

The last thing you want is to do a mass, in-game event where too many people show up and you get overwhelmed.

You may want to split it into character levels so beginners can play as well as those who don't have map completion.

One way to keep people honest is to have them collect Soulbound items. Just an idea. That way when they register a character for the hunt they can't use other characters on their account or buy from the TP.

    > You are, I assume, a frequenter of these forums. Look at the PvP forums. Look at the WvW forum. There isn't a single thread that you'll find commenting on the brilliance of the balance in this game. I honestly don't play WvW, I do play PvP, and the only thing that has been a constant is the lack of balance and the loss of players due to this.

I went through some of the other forums and know what your beef is now. I saw a few vids showing people using exploits, bugs, or bots to "cheat" in PvP battles. Those character vs. character battles are suppose to be even for everyone, where skill determines the winner.

You're stuck in a hard place; boycotting the arenas only reduces the number of players, which may show devs those area are used less and therefor not focus on them at all. But if you play in those areas, you are tacitly approving of the current state of play and the devs won't fix what isn't broken.

Obviously, they don't read the forums or at the very least respond to threads.

I have nothing constructive to add (from an outsider's POV) that could help.

  10. I have so many consumables I would never get rid of them at 1Hr.

I tend to sell them (not on the TP) for a loss just to get some money back. I know it's inefficient, but I need more than one character with maxed crafting professions.

I really like the idea of having the option for automatic renewals for the same consumable in your inventory.

  11. At Lvl 80 you should have full Exotic gear if not a few Ascended pieces.

TL;DR Just a couple questions I didn't get in the first couple posts:

    * Is this your first time playing through?

    * First time with that specific profession?

I found I couldn't do parts of the story with certain professions. Either it was my lack of skill, the build was poor, or something else altogether.

Don't get discouraged that you can't do what most people call a "simple" part of the game; everyone has different learning curves. I've been playing since GW1 2006 and I'm still learning.

  12. If we had the ability to name our weapons (the ranger can have named pets), what would you have in your inventory?

Pharus: I would have to name "Bueller."

My Predator: "AT&T" from the 1980s slogan; 'Reach out, reach out and touch someone.'

    Incinerator: "Flick my Bic"

    Eureka: "Indifference"

Nevermore: "Conspiracy Stick," the name of a group of ravens

  13. I hadn't read any announcement, only heard it was a thing, and it would allow armor/weapons to be shared across characters of the same account.

I can't tell you how many times I go to YouTube for a video on completing a JP when reading how to do it on the wiki just falls short.

  14. We get teaser trailers when a new expansion/LW episode is being developed. I would like to see a dedicated video showing how to use new additions to the game (mounts, templates, strike missions to name a few).

With the Legendary Armory in the development and so many question of how it is designed to work, I think a simple video would answer so many questions. Does it automatically swap stats between characters, questions about runes/sigil usage, and is it just called Legendary Armory because of rarity but works with any rarity of weapon/armor?

Threads of what is proposed and writing out what will happen is good, but seeing it in action is so much better.

  15. Vinetooth Prime in Auric Basin.

I never had the right character/build to solo like some people have been able to do. I was lucky to be strolling along when I saw a group had his health bar at about 75% and made a bee-line to help and get credit.

On a more generic note, any boss that continually wipes a team for any reason is hard/annoying.

I've been in groups that couldn't CC at the right time, sat in red impact zones and took massive damage or conditions, or there just weren't enough people to show up to take care of the minions as well as the boss within the time limit.

  16. There are times I race to my computer to play, but become totally deflated immediately after logging in and can't even find the mental energy to harvest nodes.

I have a number of professions I can jump into at a moment's notice and others where I must have a specific need to play that one. I think that's the reason most people have multiple race/gender/profession combinations. It really does affect your game-play.

In the end, I think your characters will get over the feeling of being abandoned; if not threaten to delete them a level another one in their place. I stopped a near mutiny a couple years ago that way. B)
