  1. Absolutely agree, it has everything except stability - mobility, high damage, low cooldowns, two heals of which one is a reset button and abnormally long stuns on each of their two elite skills
  2. It is called autorun, you press it, adjust your angle and can type for 8-10 seconds

This means that the capability to actually kill anyone who's paying even 1% attention basically goes to zero. Not true, you do the same thing DH is doing, just without Dragons Maw but alot more sustain against conditions. And correct you don‘t have superspeed, but can run Runes of Speed + Retreat, which I basically did the whole last season and was close to getting Top 100 with it, so you saying „you can‘t kill anyone“ is not true

The ONLY thing that makes this trait setup viable is trapper runes. Except that we could drop DH in that case, go Valor (Meditations) + Zeal (SoJ) + Virtues (Permeating Wrath) and do the same thing, which some are already doing and it plays the same. Also I think you are overestimating the sustain from 0.5 second stealth a trap offers before it reveals you. Again I don‘t care, nerf RoT as well, but that won‘t solve the problem

Land a symbol onto more than 1 target and every hit from every skill is proccing an aoe burn from justice passive. Burn Dragonhunters wouldn‘t be able to drop nearly as much burn if they just equipped Symbolic Power and Permeating Wrath and removed SoJ. Majority of the damage comes from SoJ casts, though Symbolic Power also plays a role

I mean I wouldn‘t care about Trapper Runes being removed, do that, but your team would still eat the same burn stacks. It wouldn‘t change anything

As I told you in game I did check the buffs on you and did not see any so it can be a mistake on my part just like it can be for any player. But not only is this rune a perfect excuse for speed hackers, it also makes player do some weird movements during a fight. > > Now for the main point, saying there are little hack or little bots are going on would be being really unaware of the situation. > > A few seasons ago I started with a goal “sticking to a new profession (I did not play many of them in sPvP) + a single build supposed not to be great for a full season” (seems stupid and very precise but I have a lot of fun and it can be hard). I usually start in silver for a few weeks, then move on to gold for most of the season, and usually end up bottom plat 1 or really close. You will see more bots and hacks more than you seem to believe. Not every game but you will see weird stuff and people almost every 3 games. > > Granted, you cannot always make out the difference between a “bad player carried by a build” (barely dodge and move like scourge with minion), someone just “using a game mechanic” (sticking on you really hard and avoiding like a mirage), “a player stubborn” (going for the same objective all the time even if you kill him again and again like a trapper ranger) and a bot on first sight. You can even add to the list of suspicious actions a team going faster than a thief to get the close node at the start, people who stop chasing every time just when you reach some range, someone moving faster than you without any buff. None of those guarantee a bot or a hack you say? Well 1V1 those for some time or stick vs them during fights and you will change your mind. In multiple rounds I was suspicious seeing some ally actions but was also too busy thinking where I should go or which skill I should use next. Then a few rounds later you fight against them and it becomes clear. This is why you will see more bots on the enemy team than in yours. Even old tricks do not always work because as I said in an other thread some bots do not even go for those 1000+ games in a season. > > At the end of last season I was on deadeye. I found a core necro in gold 3 (played by a human btw because he was answering), hit him from behind with dj and there is no damage, no miss, no block, no dodge animation. A few seconds later same scenario, I use skirmisher shot, no damage, no malice, no miss, no block, no dodge animation. And it happened again and again, every few seconds some damage would just “disappear”. Was it a hack as I thought and he told me? Or was I just waiting to get carried like my team said or trolled by him and some game mechanic I missed multiple times? > > You can have a good rank which lowers the chances of meeting a bot (when I was playing in plat I also noticed less) but I highly doubt you only met 1 hacker / bot in 7 seasons. Sorry don‘t know who you are, not good at recognizing account names, but you are basically proving my point. You mistook Speed Runes for actual speed hacking if I understand correctly?
  8. > @"TheBigPlay.7504" said: > hacker defender spottted > It has nothing to do with that, every hacker should be held accountable and permanently banned, but we have reached a point where legitimate players get attacked by players who don‘t know how mechanics like Runes of Speed work and where insulting people as hackers has become the number one excuse for salty and toxic players

It has also nothing to do with victim blaming - but addressing toxic players that flame in chat and wrongly accuse their team mates and opponents just to feel a little bit better about themselves after a loss - most cases are exactly that > > Woodenpotatoes literally made a video a few weeks ago with actual footage of hacking players, and he most certainly is not in bronze. > > Sorry I get that people want to defend Arenanet here, but a closed and blind eye approach is not the way. > > There are players using hacks, certainly not as often as every makes it out to be, but far above it being a non issue. The same goes for bots, some of which are happily doing their 3k+ games per season which would be humanly impossible or would require very didcated account sharing. > > Are there a ton of salty players? Sure. That does not mean that valid concerns are all discredited. > > This thread kind of reminds me of the initial Cyberpunk 2077 reviews, especially the ones which magically managed to not find a single bug. Just like some people are over paranoid, others are oblivious. Perception bias works both ways here. Woodenpotatoes made a video about the hacking warriors I was talking about - it was in Automated Turnaments, not ranked. Also they were hackers and no bots. Fact is out of the screenshots that flooded the forum for close to a year, ALL bots had played around 1000 matches during season season with a loss ratio of over 60% - there is NO possibility that a bot with such a winrate can place better than silver. I don‘t know if there are differences between EU and US, but I doubt that I had a bot during one of by 5v5 ranked matches up in Plat over all the seasons I have played - in fact there is no chance considering how tough matches get most of the time

So far, when I texted an accused "bot", they usually replied and were quite nice. Pretty good AI then, I guess. > > Maybe it is different in lower ratings or in NA, no idea. > Couldn‘t agree more Megametzler :#
  12. Offensive Scrapper isn‘t the problem, meaning ones that heavily rely on the use of grenades - since nades got nerfed they don‘t feel as oppressive anymore, what Scrappers need is a massive sustain nerf in terms of barrier, boon uptime and defensive skills such as Elixir S as well as some mobility reduction. Scrapper play in general is kinda degenerate - they harrass a point knowing fully well that the person defending it won‘t with a high probability survive as long as them and as soon as another person from the enemy team goes to +1 they hit Elixir S, then stealth, kite and even get away most of the times through high mobility, which then results in the rest of the team getting slaughtered in a 3v4 on other points. If Scrapper would go down more easily in case of a +1, everything would be fine, but right now people invest too many players to achieve nothing while losing on the rest of the map - that is the main problem Engineers and Revs will forever stay a problem in PvP, because they don‘t have to choose between high damage, sustain, mobility or support, they can offer everything without losing much on other ends
  13. Problem about this whole thread is that if burn gets nerfed people will complain about the bunker meta that will result afterwards, where healbreakers and other tanks fulltank points and nothing happens the whole match. The class that utilizes burn the most - Guardians - only do so since their power damage has become an absolute joke. Before symbols were nerfed not a single Guard had to rely on sacrificing sustain and stacking burn with Sword of Justice, but instead they had a way of ditching out damage with the little mobility they had and this source of damage got taken away on EVERY mainhand weapon set. Nerf burn on Guardians without giving back some form of Power Damage will result in Guardians being either unplayable offensively or they will run as full tanks which will contribute to the bunker meta that has established itself and will be stronger than ever if Burn Guards disappear. Either way - it doesn't change the fact that the positioning and way of playing of some people needs improvement. I hardly feel pressured by Burn Guards, because I actually run cleanses, don't jump onto points without a brain and am able to kite against the lowest mobility class in the game, but I feel pressured when a Herald can chase me through a whole map and hits 9K damage with a single skill. **What I am saying is that burn only is a problem for less skilled players** Also don't forget one thing - the gimmick known as Burn DH was only made possible through the constant and massive overnerfs ArenaNet has hit Guardians with in the past year - Firebrand got slaughtered, Core Guard got slaughtered - the only option for Guardians is to swap classes or stop playing if Burn also gets hit
  14. I was thinking the same a few days ago while watching MightyTeapots AT stream. In Guild Wars 1 EVERYONE could watch the matches and it was a big reason why PvP was bigger relative to other game modes when compared to Guild Wars 2. I don't know how after all those years this hasn't been reworked. And to the "exploiting" argument - just add a one minute delay to the matches the public will be able to see and the problem is solved. I am not sure but I think spectating in Guild Wars 1 acutally had a delay of a few minutes (not sure if intended or not)

I can't say much about many classes, but there are a huge lot of biased people around here - and some good players are very lacking in rational analysis of issues as well. So while I would still like to see changes ahead of time, I wouldn't worry too much about the feedback. Maybe some major oversights can be avoided though. Looks like you were right and we get no balance patch :/ Monday right at the start of the season would have been the opportunity

Understandable and I agree with you when it comes to biased people. I think there will be a balance patch either in January or February and just in case I hope they decide to warn us some time ahead
  18. What shout can give 45 boons? Also what in the world are you talking about? Who plays Shout Core Guardian? If anything they play meditations - this has to be a troll post
  19. I agree and disagree with you - I think Guardians have been heavily punished by ArenaNets random nerfs in terms of our support (mostly heal & condition removal) and power damage capabilities (all our symbols meaning ALL our main hand damage and single target damage) - so Guardians are **FORCED** to play this degenerate build to counter the insane sustain Spellbreaker offers in a teamfight at the moment and to counter other Dragonhunters, because they mostly have bad condition removal. **I agree with you that the Trapper rune has to go (as a Guardian main since release), but only if we get better power damage back as well as mobility to land our direct hits in return or the next thing you will see are full tank decap Guardians**. I, and many other Guardians are annoyed to be forced to play this braindead build where your only job is basically to Kamikaze yourself while taking down as many people as you can. Last meta where Guardians had actual good symbols was far less oppressive, since Symbol Core Guardian never could drop 5k damage per tick and simply disappear right after. The whole Symbol nerf was a catastrophe for Guardian gameplay as well as for the whole meta by seeing how entire teams drop now while trying to capture canon in „Revenge of the Capricorn“ or clocktower in Khylo. This was NEVER possible when Symbols where still a thing - a spellbreaker could literally sit on point while you and your Symbols PLUS one other person fought for 2 minutes at mid and nothing happened. The balance patch was one big kitten up on ArenaNets side. If DH/Trapper Runes go without Guardians getting some form of damage buff, we will have not a single viable build left in PvP
  20. Heralds are extremely broken, you will see people crying about them in no time. They have insane mobility paired with abnormal damage and sustain in glint heal and are slowly picking up again on EU servers. I would welcome a nerf
  21. You took 30 hits of burn, but continue your lying
  22. > @"Leonidrex.5649" said: > Have not seen them be as broken as they were pre-feb so I dont mind. > Powere rev is still bloated to keep them in check in any case True, I got popped today by double Herald despite kiting to non port spots
  23. > @"Dantheman.3589" said: > Ehh it’s not even that. Support was more essential than q symbol or sage firebrand in the first place as firebrand is mostly just putting out boons not sustain and that basically anything with a semblance of damage beats any kind of firebrand. But your also kindof right as supports are now making a somewhat come back but I think instant healing from core shout supports is alittle more likely than firebrand, as it’s mostly prolonged support not instant support I think you were right before the last shout and general sustain nerf for Healbreakers - I‘ve tried them both during the last week - you get around 200K-400K healing output over the match as a Firebrand, which is comparable to Healbreaker, while having a little less mobility in the new build, but a ton of important boons such as resistance, prot and aegis that heals teammates as well as having less cooldown on the res signet. From what I saw it looked really great, only problem is that all available heal skills (mostly for selfsustain reasons) on a Firebrand have been nerfed too much or aren‘t suited for how the spec is played
